The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Physical Fitness Level of elementary school students through the Burnball/Slag ball Game. The population in this study were 40 students in grade V of SD Negeri Petanggan for the 2021/2023 school year. The sampling technique used is total sampling. For data analysis use the Action Research method with a percentage descriptive analysis pattern or percentage correction. To find out the initial condition of the sample, we held a preliminary test with the Bleef test instrument, which is to determine the level of freshness of the female students. From the results of the sample, students were then given slag ball game practice for 3 weeks in the first cycle and 3 weeks in the second cycle. After receiving treatment for 6 weeks, a test is held at the end of each cycle with the same test instrument. These results then processed with the analysis used is by percentage descriptive analysis or percentage correction. Based on data analysis on the initial test, it was obtained that it can be said that caste games can improve the physical fitness of elementary school age. From the results of this study, it is recommended that physical education teachers of SD Negeri Petanggan Oku Timur can use slag ball games to improve the physical freshness of their students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the factors driving the transformation, the process of converting Private Islamic High Schools into Private Islamic Religious Institutes in Jambi Province, and to assess the quality of education in Private Islamic High Schools before and after the transformation. The researcher conducted field research using qualitative research methods and a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis includes data reduction, presentation, verification, and conclusion. This research produces results: first, the factors that influenced the transformation of Islamic Religious Colleges in Jambi Province into Islamic Religious Institutes can be divided into two categories: internal and external factors. Second, implementing the transformation into Islamic Religious Institutes through the history of IAI, specifically Bungo and Nusantara Batanghari, the pioneering period, the STAIS periods, and the IAIS periods. Third, the quality of education before transformation, namely the lack of socialization of vision, mission, and goals to external parties. Fourth, the quality of PTKIS education after transformation, namely developing campus resources and involving lecturers to continue to doctoral and master’s programs for employees at universities, etc.

Abstract

Warm-up activities are important activities before students carry out core activities in physical education learning, but since the covid 19 last year physical education learning has been forced to be carried out online, and when learning is carried out offline, many of the students do not look serious and lazy on the grounds that warm-up activities are just that, and there is no challenge when doing warm-up activities during learning and boring; therefore, there is a need for small game modifications when doing warm-up activities so that students are interested in participating in physical education learning. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the implementation of small game modifications as a form of warm-up to students’ interest in learning Physical Education. The population comprised 150 class XII MAN 1 Musi Banyuasin individuals. The sample in this study consisted of 35 students who were recruited using the cluster random sampling technique. This study used an experimental method. A questionnaire with 20 statements was used for data collection. Validity and reliability were tested by experts using a questionnaire with 20 statement items. Validity and reliability testing using validity tests by experts. The results showed that there was a significant effect on the implementation of small game modifications as a form of warm-up on student interest in learning physical education, as evidenced by the results of student answers through distributing questionnaires of overall student answers from questionnaires no. 1-20 on average, students answered that they agreed with a total of 269. The lowest number of student answers strongly disagreed, with a total of 23.

Abstract

Turbo throwing is one of the throwing number activities in kid’s athletics, which is the activity of throwing with one hand to reach a certain distance. To increase the strength of the hand muscles it is necessary to do certain forms of exercise . The exercise used in this study is the mounted dumble load exercise The research method is quantitative using the research method “pre-experimental planning” ie (pre-testing of one group -planning after the test). The population at this study had a total of 24 people. The sample in this study amounted to 24 people. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the calculated t value = 8.250 > t table = 1.714 with a significant level ( α : 0.05), so it was rejected and accepted, so it can be concluded that the study with the title “The effect of mounted dumble load training on turbo throwing ability in extracurricular athletic students at SD Negeri 19 Tebing Tinggi” had a significant effect.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of the STAD type cooperative learning model in improving volleyball learning outcomes of elementary school students. This research uses the research method of literature study. This type of research data collection is a literature review whose purpose is to find out how the STAD type cooperative learning model in improving volleyball learning outcomes of elementary school students. Data collection techniques are obtained from several relevant sources related to the research being researched. The relevant sources that have been collected are then compiled, analyzed, and concluded so as to conclude that the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model in learning activities can help students improve volleyball learning outcomes in elementary school students.

Abstract

Project Based Learning (PjBL) is a learning model that creates a challenge by involving activeness, collaboration, between students in a project. This study aims to determine the effect of the PjBL Learning Model on Learning Outcomes of Creative Projects and Entrepreneurship Students of SMK Negeri 1 Palembang. The data collection technique uses observation of student activity and tests of learning outcomes for creative and entrepreneurial projects using the experimental method of the True Experimental Design type with the Posttest-Only Control Design form. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded from testing the research using the Independent Sample T Test assisted by SPSS version 26 software with a significant level of 0.05, namely hypothesis 0.002, less than 0.05 (0.002 <0.05), it can be concluded that Ho rejected and Ha accepted, there is an influence of the PjBL Learning Model on Learning Outcomes of Creative Projects and Entrepreneurship Students of SMK Negeri 1 Palembang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Shuttle-Run and Zig-Zag exercises on ball dribbling skills in SMPN 27 Palembang. This research was conducted on students of SMP Negeri 27 Palembang. The sample of this research was students of class VII.2 and VII.3 with a total of 58 people. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Data collection was carried out by carrying out a dribbling test in a soccer game. The research method uses the experimental method, while the analytical method used is the t test with the SPSS for Windows version 23.00 program. The conclusions of this study are: (1) there is an effect of shuttle-run training on ball dribbling skills in students of SMP Negeri 27 Palembang; (2) there is an effect of zig-zag training on the ball dribbling ability of students at SMP Negeri 27 Palembang.

Abstract

This study intends to describe and analyze three things: (1) teacher performance; (2) the principal’s supervision and motivation towards teachers; and (3) elements that encourage the supervision and motivation of school principals in improving teacher performance. The creation of a qualitative descriptive analysis strategy model and/or a qualitative verification analysis strategy model is a qualitative component of this study. At SD Negeri 123, Sukarame District, Palembang, this research was conducted with principals, 10 teachers and supervisors as respondents. Observations, interviews, and documentation are used as data collection methods. By using triangulation techniques, data analysis. From the research results it is known that the Principal of Public Elementary School (SD) 123, Sukarame District, Palembang has done a good job in motivating and supervising the teachers there. encouraging teachers, improving teacher performance, recognizing teacher abilities, and understanding.

Abstract

The success of a volleyball game is supported by the ability of its players to master various basic volleyball techniques. Top passing is one of the basic techniques in volleyball that students must have. The problem in this study is that the level of volleyball upper passing ability at SMK Negeri 1 Martapura is unknown. This study aims to determine the level of volleyball upper passing ability in students of SMK Negeri 1 Martapura. The variable in this study is a single variable, namely the ability to pass over volleyball. The population in this study were X TKJ 1 class students totaling 36 students, while the sample was taken using total sampling technique so that all populations were sampled in this study. The method in this research is descriptive quantitative with a survey approach. Data collection techniques using the upper passing test instrument. Data analysis using the Percentage Formula. The results showed that the level of upper passing ability in class X TKJ 1 students showed that students who had a good category were 17 students (47%), who had a sufficient category of 13 students (36%), who had a category of less than 6 students (10%). The results show that SMK Negeri 1 Martapura students have a fairly good upper passing ability based on the results that get a good category as much as 47% of the total sampling.

Abstract

From observations made by researchers when sports learning with long jump material was underway, not many students can perform movement techniques in the long jump, especially the hanging style with a structure according to the teacher’s direction. This was seen when the PE teacher held daily exams at the second meeting, the result was that not many students were able to reach KKM which was 75. Of all the existing problems, related to the student’s ability to do the long jump hanging style, Researchers focused the problem on the low level of flexibility of the torso. This study aims to find out whether there is a relationship between the flexibility of the torso and the ability to long jump the hanging style in male students of class XI IPS SMA Negeri 4 Palembang. This research method uses the correlation method. The subjects of this study were 15 male students of class XI IPS SMA Negeri 4 Palembang. Data collection techniques use measurement tests. Data analysis using the product moment correlation formula. Based on data analysis that has been done by researchers, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the flexibility of the torso with the ability to long jump hanging style in class XI social studies students of SMA Negeri 4 Palembang.
