Journal of Social Work and Science Education
The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. It is published by Yayasan Sembilan Pemuda Indonesia and it will regularly be published three times a year, in April, August, and December.

<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the Management of Laboratory Facilities in Improving Student Achievement at SMP Negeri 4 Kayuagung OKI Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection tools use interviews, observation, documentation and literature review. Data analysis techniques using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the study stated that the management of laboratory facilities in improving student achievement at SMP Negeri 4 Kayuagung OKI Regency was by improving the quality of laboratory management through improving the quality of laboratory services, increasing the role of laboratory human resources and maximizing laboratory infrastructure facilities at SMP Negeri 4 Kayuagung. Obstacles that are procedural in nature fulfill laboratory facilities for public schools which must follow the provisions of the regional government through the RKAS. School financial problems, laboratory administration systems and laboratory management capacity building training. The solution adopted is to involve all school members and school committees to take an active role in efforts to improve the quality of laboratory services. Then provide laboratory management training at SMP Negeri 4 Kayuagung.]]>

<![CDATA[This study investigates the difficulties encountered when translating fiqh terms from the Al-Munawwir dictionary to the “Islamic Fiqh wa Adillatuh” book. This study combines a literature review methodology with qualitative research techniques. The Al-Munawwir dictionary and legal jargon included in Sheikh Wahbah Az-Zuhaili’s book “Islamic Jurisprudence wa Adilatuh” are the sources of this information. The research’s findings indicate two categories of issues related to the translation of fiqh terminology in the book “Islamic Jurisprudence wa Adillatuh”: Linguistic Issues and Technical Issues. These issues were identified through data analysis conducted with the Al-Munawwir dictionary, followed by analysis and discussion in earlier chapters. This study further emphasizes how useful the Al-Munawwir lexicon is for translating terms related to fiqh. Among the Indonesian research and translation community that preserves their language, culture, and religion, this dictionary is highly regarded. Arabic and Indonesian dictionaries are used as reference materials, and words are defined from these sources.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the influence of the principal's leadership style and completeness of infrastructure on teacher performance. The location of this research was carried out in public junior high schools in Mesuji District. This type of research is quantitative research with research design using research design after the fact. The sample in this study was a total of all teachers in public junior high schools in Mesuji District, consisting of 89 respondents. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques using descriptive quantitative analysis techniques, and multiple regression. The results of this study state that 1) there is a significant influence between the Principal's Leadership Style on the Performance of State Middle School Teachers in Mesuji District; 2) there is a significant effect of Completeness of Infrastructure on the Performance of State Middle School Teachers in Mesuji District; 3) there is a significant influence of the Principal's Leadership Style and Completeness of Infrastructure together on the Performance of State Middle School teachers in the Mesuji District.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of school culture and organizational commitment on teacher performance in high schools in Tanjung Lubuk district. The sample size taken was 70 teachers in high schools in Tanjung Lubuk District. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, where the respondents taken were some of the teachers in SD Negeri Gugus 1 Lubuk Besar District, Central Bangka Regency, Tanjung Lubuk. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale to measure 67 statement items. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was an influence of school culture and organizational commitment on teacher performance Second, there is an influence of school culture on teacher performance Third, there is an influence of organizational commitment on teacher performance.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the comparison of movement skills in football games in 7th and 8th grade students at SMP Negeri 3 KayuAgung, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The research method is defined as a scientific way to obtain data with specific purposes and uses. This research is quantitative descriptive research, namely research by giving tests to students, so that the results of motion abilities in football games are obtained and analyzed. The results during the author’s observation of the problem obtained that the ability to move in the game of soccer in students of SMP Negeri 3 Kayu Agung is still very lacking. The phenomenon that occurs is that there are several students who have not been able to perform soccer game movements. Especially in grade 7 and grade 8 students of SMP Negeri 3 Kayu Agung. Related to this problem, the solution is to emphasize more movement skills in soccer games so that these abilities can improve properly.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe efforts to increase students’ interest in science by maximizing laboratory facilities at SMA Negeri 3 Unggulan Kayuagung. Data collection tools using interviews, documentation, observation, and literature review. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative analysis with research stages referring to Miles and Huberman’s theory, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study stated that efforts to increase the interest of students of SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung in the field of science facilities by maximizing laboratory infrastructure were carried out by 1) planning laboratory facilities to increase students’ interest in SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung in the Field of Science, 2) observing the laboratory facilities and infrastructure of SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung; 3) laboratory design for SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung; 4) equipment selection for SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung; 5) training for teachers and students of SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung; 6) implementation of laboratory regulations for Unggulan Kayuagung SMAN 3, implementation, and 7) laboratory evaluation for SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung.]]>

The purpose of this study is to determine the potential of Archeology. What Islam is in the village of Talang Pangeran and will be used later as a source of learning local history. In this study the author uses a qualitative descriptive method which starts from observation activities, interviews, documentation, literature study. In the village of Talang Pangeran has a very rich historical heritage and that all needs to be preserved and developed so that it is lost in time. <![CDATA[The problem in this study is that the members of gymnastics in the Mawar Jingga studio in Palembang City have reached the age of elderly, but they are still enthusiastic about participating in gymnastics. The problem is that they have difficulty during gymnastics because the movement and tempo of the music do not match their abilities. Therefore, researchers aim to develop a low impact aerobic exercise model for the elderly level at the Mawar Jingga studio in Palembang City. This research is research and development, this research is carried out through the stages of needs analysis, planning, making initial product designs, material and media expert validation. Furthermore, the product is tested on the elderly through small-scale trials, revisions, large-scale trials, revisions and final products. The product test subjects were elderly in the Sanggar Mawar Jingga studio in Palembang City. The data from the expert validation results got a value very valid category. It can be concluded that the low impact aerobic exercise model product developed is suitable for use by the elderly.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims (1) to describe and analyze the principal’s strategy in recruiting New Student Admissions (PPDB) at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Megang; (2) To describe and analyze the inhibiting and supporting factors in implementing the new student acceptance strategy (PPDB) at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Megang. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Megang with the subject of this research being the school principal. The informants of this study were Student Representatives, Chairpersons of PPDB Committees, and Teachers. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research to apply the principal’s strategy in recruiting prospective students at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Megang include (1) improving and completing school infrastructure (2) Neat and comfortable school environment. PPDB socialization is carried out through the media banners, banners, brochures and social media such as Facebook and Instagram, visits to schools that are the target or target schools and PPDB socialization are also carried out during student parent meetings. The inhibiting factors in implementing the principal’s strategy in recruiting prospective students at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Megang include too many (1). students registering and the quota accepted is limited so that the parents of students whose children are not accepted make threats to damage the school and so on (2). The existence of a very large number of students considering the limited infrastructure means that there must be support from other parties, both the government/parents and guardians.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe and find out the Analysis of School Management Readiness, Constraints, and Solutions to Face Face-to-Face Learning at SMA Negeri 1 Kayuagung, OKI Regency. Data collection tools using interviews, documentation, observation and literature review. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative analysis with research stages referring to Miles and Huberman’s theory, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. The results of the study stated that school management facing face-to-face learning at Kayuagung 1 Public High School was carried out through 1) planning face-to-face learning preparation after online learning; 2) organizing school resources to carry out face-to-face learning after online learning; 3) carrying out face-to-face learning; 4) supervise the implementation of face-to-face learning at SMA Negeri 1 Kayuagung. The obstacles faced are 1) Compliance with health protocols; 2) The number of students exceeds the capacity of the classroom; 3) Availability of resources and equipment; 4) Uncertainty of the pandemic situation; 5) Adjustment of teaching methods; 6) Limited internet access The solutions taken include 1) Providing training and education to students, teachers, staff and parents regarding the importance of complying with health protocols; 2) Carry out regular monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of face-to-face learning; 3) Maintain strict health protocols.]]>
