Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between reading habits and critical thinking skills of students in elementary school.  The practice of reading has an impact on the increase of one's knowledge and also on the ability to think critically.This study used quantitative research with the correlational analysis method. The research targets are 50 students in SDN Batu Ampar 09 East Jakarta grade 3. The study was conducted from November 2022 to July 2023 in the even semester of the 2022/2023 school year.  In this study, non probability sampling techniques with saturated sampling techniques were used. The results of this study showed the value of r count is 0.618 while r table is 0.288 at the 5% significance level. Therefore, the null hypothesis (h0) is rejected, while the research hypothesis (h1) is accepted, meaning that there is a positive who have level interpretations moderate or sufficient correlation between reading habits and critical thinking skills The results of this study can be used as a reference for the development of learning strategies in primary schools.

Abstract

This research is to analyze the character values ​​of the local wisdom of Wayang Sukuraga in Sukabumi City towards character education in elementary schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive method which aims to describe the value of character education in local wisdom in Wayang Sukuraga. This research stems from the researcher's interest in examining more deeply the connection between the phenomena experienced by the informants. The informants of this study were an artist from the city of Sukabumi and a teacher who uses the wayang Sukuraga media in learning. Data collection was carried out using interview techniques, observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis in this study included collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that the Sukuraga puppet has values ​​in the formation of human character because the Sukuraga puppet story is taken from stories of everyday life. This shows that the formation of character contained in wayang sukuraga can be implemented by elementary school students in their daily lives. So that the character education obtained in this Sukuraga puppet is so that humans can stay away from evil and do good.

Abstract

Currently, the assessment of curiosity character education is mostly done by observation. The lack of innovation in developing curiosity character assessment instruments for elementary school students is the background of this research. The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument for assessing the character of curiosity in teaching reading and writing to elementary school students. This study uses the ADDIE Research and Development method. This study involved 15 teachers for needs analysis, three lecturers and four teachers for surface and content validation, and 17 grade 1 elementary school students for testing the curiosity character assessment instrument. The research instruments used in this study were tests and non-tests, using closed and open questionnaires. Data analysis techniques in this study were carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the curiosity character assessment instrument was developed by following the steps of the ADDIE development procedure which had been tested for quality with "very good results, with no recommendations for revision" and a "high" level of effectiveness. This means the curiosity character assessment instrument is feasible and effective in learning to read and write.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations, it can be seen that there are some students whose grades do not reach the KKM score. This happens because the method used by the teacher in learning is only the lecture method. Teachers who are creative in the learning process should immediately provide learning materials using tools in the form of learning media so that the scores of students who are below the KKM will decrease. The purpose of this writing is to determine the effect of KIT IPA learning media on motivation and student learning outcomes in learning. The writing method uses quantitative with the experimental method, namely trying to practice directly related to the material being taught by the teacher. The results that the writer got during the observation process were that there was an increase in the scores obtained by students after the teacher implemented the learning process using media aids. The next suggestion is that teachers can use learning media in schools to help the process of delivering material to students so that students can easily understand the material and are more enthusiastic about learning.

Abstract

The speaking ability of elementary school students is in the low category, so an appropriate media is needed using the AJIB Book (Illustrated Speech Jockey Tool). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the development of AJIB book media (speech illustration jockey tool) to improve speaking skills in Indonesian language subject speech material in class VI elementary school. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the development model in this study the 4-D development model. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test found that P 0.000 <0.05, this indicates that there is a difference in the effect between the pre and post tests. The conclusion obtained in this study is that it has proven effective in developing AJIB book media (speech illustration jockey tools to improve speaking skills in Indonesian language subject speech material in class VI elementary school.

Abstract

Storytelling is one of the language skills that must be mastered by students. Storytelling skills refer to the ability to tell stories as a component of Indonesian language proficiency. Storytelling skills are language skills by conveying the contents of the story through speech. However, it was found that the students' storytelling skills were still in the low category. This study aims to determine the effect of canva-based animal fairy tales audio-visual animation learning media on students' storytelling skills. The research design used in this research is experimental research with pre-test and post-test data measurements. The sample used in this study was grade II students at SD Taman Sidoarjo using a saturated sample technique so that it used the entire population, so that the total sample in this study was 17 students. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test found that P 0.000 < 0.05, this shows that there is a difference in effect between the pre and post tests. There is a significant influence of Canva-based audio-visual animation learning media on improving the storytelling skills of grade II elementary school students

Abstract

The background of this research is that there are still many teachers who do not understand well how to prepare learning that can improve and prepare students' numeracy literacy. The research aims to determine the difference in the effectiveness of using the model Dıscovery Learnıng and Problem Based Learning in order to increase the numeracy literacy skills of the IPAS class IV SD subject. This research method is a quasi-experimental design type Nonequivalet Control Group Design with the research subjects of all fourth grade students of SD Negeri Salatiga 03. The results of the study obtained that the test results N-Gain Score showing the average value of numeracy literacy ability of experimental class 1 using the model Dıscovery Learnıng of 57.4663% the category is quite effective and the experimental class 2 uses the model Problem Based Learning with an average of 38.5194% ineffective category. Thus, it is concluded that there are differences in the effectiveness of the model Dıscovery Learnıng with models Problem Based Learning in the framework of improving numeracy literacy in IPAS class 4 SD subjects.

Abstract

How important is the transformational leadership of school principals in elementary schools who must be able to play a role in changing educational paradigms, changing technology, curricula in dealing with today’s 21st century learning. So that school principals can identify the main areas that need to be addressed in implementing transformational leadership to deal with 21st century learning in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to gain a better understanding of the role and influence of transformational leadership of school principals in elementary schools in facing the challenges and demands of 21st century learning. This study used the literature review method. The resultsis that the role and influence of the principal’s transformational leadership in elementary schools in facing the challenges and demands of the 21st century are very significant, including inspiring and motivating, encouraging innovation, building collaboration, building leadership skills, and strengthening the quality of education. Likewise, in the century learning can be implemented in elementary schoolswith the principle of: utilizing technology, communicating, being creative, instilling literacy, thinking critically, being innovative, and creating human learner. As well as being able to make an important contribution to the learning to create a relevant educational environment in the 21st.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to explore the scope of the independent curriculum, Ki Hadjar Dewantara's conception, and the relevance of the independent curriculum to Ki Hadjar Dewantara's conception based on critical studies in a philosophical-pedagogical perspective. The independent curriculum is a policy program in the field of education that emphasizes giving freedom to schools including teachers and students to innovate and learn independently. The background of this study is to analyze the alignment between the independent curriculum itself and Ki Hadjar Dewantara's conception. The research method used is literature study. The stages carried out in this literature study are 1) choosing the source material that comes from journals; 2) browse the reference literature; 3) reading references; 4) write notes; and 5) present the results of the journal review. Based on the study of the journal, the results show that there is relevance and interrelationship between the independent curriculum and Ki Hadjar Dewantara's conception of education from a philosophical and pedagogical perspective. So it can be concluded that the independent learning curriculum concept is relevant to the conception of education initiated by Ki Hadjar Dewantara where the principle of independence is very important for students so that the concept of acquiring learning is not only in the process of imparting knowledge to students, but students are given the freedom to develop independently but with teacher supervision. along with parents.

Abstract

In Class III SDN 01 Sungai Geringging, the Numbered Head Together Type Cooperative Model to Improve Learning Outcomes in Integrated Thematic Learning is the focus of this study. 25 participant including teachers and class III students—were used as research subjects. By combining qualitative and quantitative methods, this study is a classroom action research (CAR). Research findings demonstrate: (1) RPP increased from cycle I's average percentage of 81.25% with a good predicate (B) to cycle II's very good (A) percentage of 97.5%. (2) Cycle I had an implementation rate of 82.81% with a good predicate (B), whereas cycle II had an implementation rate of 93.75% with an excellent predicate (A). The characteristics of the pupils increased from cycle I, where the average percentage was 82.81% with an excellent predicate (B), to cycle II, when the proportion was 93.75% very good (A). (3) Cycle I had an average percentage of 77.82% with an excellent predicate (B), and cycle II had an average percentage of 87.17% with a very good predicate (A) in student learning outcomes. Thus, in class III SDN 01 Sungai Geringging, Padang Pariaman Regency, the cooperative model of the Numbered Head Together type was able to enhance student learning results in integrated thematic learning.
