Abstract

Reading ability is a fundamental skill crucial for the academic and social development of students, particularly for third-grade elementary students who are at the initial stage of advanced literacy. This study aims to evaluate the impact of a guided reading method combined with the use of flashcards on students' reading abilities and self-confidence. An experimental method was employed, utilizing a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, comprising a total of 28 students from State Elementary School 27 Rabadompu Timur. The research findings indicate that the average pretest score was approximately 61.29, while the posttest average score increased to around 74.54, demonstrating the effectiveness of the flashcard method in enhancing students' reading abilities. The paired samples test revealed a significance value (p-value) of 0.000, which is well below the significance level of 0.05, affirming that the use of flashcards significantly improves students' reading skills. Additionally, self-confidence responses indicated that students felt more confident during reading activities, and participatory observation results suggested that the use of flashcards enhanced overall student engagement and enthusiasm. As a visual aid, flashcards facilitated information retention and created a more interactive learning environment. Future research may explore the effectiveness of flashcards tailored to varying levels of complexity.

Abstract

The use of gadgets is a technological advance that has an impact on students' development. Excessive use of gadgets can have a negative impact on students. Blended learning models that integrate digital literacy and ethics provide guidance for students to use technology wisely. This study aims to develop and test an integrated learning model based on digital literacy and ethics in Indonesian language teaching. The research method uses research and development to develop and validate digital literacy and ethics products. The subjects were fifth graders from Srengat Primary School. Data analysis using descriptive statistics and percentages with Content Validity Ratio test for expert validation and paired t-test. The Content Validity Ratio results from four experts showed that integrated learning models were very important, with scores ranging from 0.0 to 1.0 and an overall average of 0.6. The average expert validation scores were 3.6, 3.8, 3.9 and 3.8, respectively, ensuring the validity of the e-book for digital literacy and ethics. Paired sample t-tests with values of t -13.27 and p-0.000 showed statistically significant improvements in understanding of digital literacy and ethics. In conclusion, digital literacy and ethics with e-book products effectively enhances students' skills in critical information evaluation and digital responsibility. Future studies are recommended to explore and refine curriculum design to promote positive digital character and develop students as critical readers and responsible digital users.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in shaping the character and ability of the younger generation to face the challenges of the Times. The era of globalization, not only focuses on mastering science, but also on developing critical thinking skills and adaptability to change. The purpose of the study was to analyze and evaluate the influence of contextual learning models with ecoliteration on student learning outcomes in natural and social sciences subjects. The research method used experiments with Pre-experimental one group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample was 32 students of Grade 5 Elementary School Pulogebang 11. Data analysis using quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative analysis using SPSS software version 23 and T-test (t-test). Qualitative analysis using interviews and observations. The results showed a significant increase between the pretest and posttest scores, with an average pretest of 60.81 and posttest of 84.69 with an average difference of 23.88. A significance value of 0.000, indicating a positive effect of the intervention. Hasıl interviews with teachers and students showed high student involvement, with many active and enthusiastic participants. Observations also confirm that the majority of students are actively involved in learning. In conclusion, effective learning models can create an interactive and engaging learning environment. Further research is expected to develop a more flexible learning model so that meaningful, sustainable, and adaptive learning objectives are achieved in science and social studies subjects.

Abstract

This study addresses the critical issue of low religious literacy among elementary students in Indonesia. It aims to explore how Islamic Education (PAI) teachers work to strengthen students' literacy competence through targeted learning systems. Employing Romiszowski's framework, the study analyzes problem identification, solution selection, implementation, and evaluation, using a phenomenological qualitative approach. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that religious literacy is primarily perceived as the ability to read and write, especially the Qur'an. Programs such as Literacy Week and Spiritual Friday significantly improved students' basic religious literacy. Students demonstrated notable progress in Qur'anic reading, advancing from pre-basic to basic proficiency, with some achieving a skilled level. These initiatives proved effective in raising students’ understanding and practice of religious literacy. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the challenges surrounding religious literacy in Indonesian primary schools. It emphasizes the urgency of enhancing literacy competencies, particularly in religious contexts, for the future of education. By focusing on early education, this study underscores the need for sustained and innovative efforts to improve religious literacy, ensuring students are well-prepared for future educational challenges. Ultimately, it highlights the importance of creating a literate, well-rounded generation, capable of navigating a changing educational landscape.

Abstract

This research was conducted because of students' inability to think critically, so there is a need for media interactive learning that can improve student learning outcomes, as well as teachers' ability to develop low IT-based learning media. This research aims to analyze the initial needs in developing Canva-based interactive media to improve the critical thinking skills of sixth grade elementary school students to solve Mathematics story problems on geometric material. It is hoped that Canva-based MPI can be a solution to students' difficulties in interpreting and solving story problems, which often require in-depth understanding and critical thinking skills. The method used in the research is Research and Development with the ADDIE research model, which consists: (1)Analysis, (2)Design, (3)Development, (4)Implementation, and (5)Evaluation. In addition, media validation was carried out by experts to evaluate the validity and effectiveness of Canva-based interactive media. The use of Canva results show that in developing learning media is able to provide more interesting and interactive story problem visualizations, thus having a positive impact on improving students' critical thinking abilities. It is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of effective and easily accessible learning media to improve the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools, especially in terms skills to critical thinking solve story problems.

Abstract

Mathematics and culture are two things that are difficult to separate. Mathematics is a branch of science that has developed since ancient times and has become part of human life and culture. The relationship between mathematics and culture is called ethnomathematics. This study aims to explore the mathematical concept of various types of angles found in the Ampel Religious Area for mathematics learning in elementary schools. The main focus of this study is the forms of buildings or architecture, ornaments, and objects in the Ampel Mosque and its surroundings. The research location was at the Ampel Mosque and its surroundings located on Jalan Ampel Masjid, Semampir District, Surabaya City, East Java. This study uses an ethnographic approach with a qualitative research type. Data were collected through observation and documentation techniques. There are three data analysis techniques used, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are mathematical elements about the types of angles in the area. The types of angles found include acute angles, right angles, obtuse angles, straight angles, reflex angles, and 360° angles. The results of ethnomathematics exploration in the Ampel Religious Area can be used by teachers as a reference for mathematics learning for elementary school students, so that they can learn more about local culture and understand the types of angles. Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulties experienced by most students in solving problems in learning, the difficulty of working together because they do not want to share knowledge with each other, and lack of confidence in presenting in front. One way to improve these skills is by implementing discovery learning. However, discovery learning has a weakness in efficiency in managing learning so that it requires gamification as a solution in managing learning. The purpose of this study is to improve 21st century skills in grade IV students of SD Evans Indonesia Kota Bangun so that they can become a foundation of character so that they are ready to face challenges in the 21st century. This research method is carried out qualitatively. The data collection and analysis techniques are carried out using the Miles & Huberman model including (1) Data collection through literature studies and observations; (2) Data reduction in the form of observation tables; (3) Data presentation in the form of scripts; and (4) Drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that students can solve problems in learning through critical and creative thinking skills, communicate and collaborate very well and can present confidently in front of the class so that the application of discovery learning with the concept of gamification can improve 21st century skills. These findings indicate that a fun and challenging learning approach can encourage students to become learners to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

Technology has a big positive impact on integration in the world of education. The aim of this research is to produce an e-comic about my environment to increase the spirit of mutual cooperation and appropriate, practical and effective learning achievements. This development research uses the ADDIE research model. The research subjects were 102 students and 4 teachers at elementary school cluster II, Kasihan subdistrict, Bantul district, Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques used interviews, needs analysis questionnaires, validation questionnaires, response questionnaires, self-assessment questionnaires, and pretest posttest. Data analysis used the independent sample t-test, paired sample t-test, and MANOVA test. The results of the independent sample t-test show a significant value of 0.019<0.05. The results of the paired sample t-test show a significant value of 0.002 <0.05. The MANOVA test results show a significant value of 0.006<0.05. Overall, there is a significant difference in the spirit of mutual cooperation and learning achievement between students who use e-comics and those who do not use the results of research on the development of e-comic material my environment. The spirit of mutual cooperation and learning achievement of students who use e-comics increases compared to those who do not use e-comics. It was concluded that e-comics were declared feasible, practical and effective for use as learning media.

Abstract

Differentiated instruction is a pedagogical approach designed to address diverse student needs, yet its implementation in primary school mathematics remains challenging. This study investigates the barriers and enablers in applying differentiated mathematics instruction, providing insights into practical challenges and strategies for success. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis in five primary schools, involving students, teachers, and school principals selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that the primary barriers include limited teacher training on differentiation strategies, time constraints in lesson planning, and inadequate support systems, such as resources and collaboration opportunities. On the other hand, key enablers include strong leadership support, flexible teaching materials, and professional learning communities that foster peer knowledge sharing. The study highlights the interplay between institutional support and teacher agency as critical for successful implementation. Its novelty lies in offering actionable recommendations, such as incorporating differentiation-focused training into professional development and promoting collaborative educator networks. These findings contribute to the discourse on differentiated instruction, offering practical strategies and systemic changes to enhance equity and engagement in primary mathematics education.

Abstract

Terwujudnya peserta didik yang memiliki Profil Pelajar Pancasila merupakan cita-cita pemerintah saat ini. Maraknya tiga dosa besar pendidikan, intoleransi, dan minimnya kedisiplinan di lingkungan peserta didik Sekolah Dasar menimbulkan ancaman disintegrasi pendidikan dasar dari dalam. Pemerintah berupaya menghadirkan pembelajaran Profil Pelajar Pancasila melalui berbagai media pembelajaran, salah satunya melalui buku terbuka PAI dan Pendidikan Karakter. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk pembahasan mengetahui Profil Pelajar Pancasila dalam buku siswa Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Karakter Kurikulum Mandiri Kelas 1-3, bagaimana integrasi materi Pendidikan Agama Islam dengan Profil Pelajar Pancasila dalam buku siswa Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Karakter Kurikulum Mandiri Kelas 1- 3, dan urgensi buku siswa PAI dalam membangun Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif jenis Library Research dengan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Karakter Kelas 1-3 SD Kurikulum Mandiri telah terintegrasi dengan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Dimensi Keimanan, Ketaqwaan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa dan Berpikir Kritis merupakan dimensi yang paling sering ditemukan. Sementara itu, dimensi Keberagaman Global merupakan dimensi yang paling jarang ditemukan pada buku terbuka Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Karakter kelas 1-3 SD. Keberadaan Profil Pelajar Pancasila pada buku ajar Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Karakter kelas 1-3 SD sangat penting sebagai bekal kehidupan peserta didik dalam menghadapi masa depan.
