Abstract

Research is based on initial observations that show low mastery of biological concepts. This study aims to improve students' mastery of concepts using a problem-based learning model of biology subject in class X SMA Negeri 51 Maluku Tengah. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 51 Maluku Tengah for the 2020/2021 school year. The population in this study were students of class X SMA Negeri 51 Maluku Tengah, while the sample was taken at random with a total of 27 students. The data in this study were collected through a multiple choice test instrument. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively and used the Gain Normalization Test to answer the increase. The results obtained indicate the mastery of the concept after learning with the problem based learning model shows that there are changes. The highest score was 100 and the lowest was 80. Meanwhile, the N-gain test results obtained 1.00 in the high category. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model is feasible and can be used to improve students' mastery of concepts. Abstrak. Penelitian yang dilatarbelakangi observasi awal yang menunjukkan rendahnya penguasaan konsep biologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep peserta didik menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning materi ruang lingkup biologi kelas X SMA Negeri 51 Maluku Tengah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 51 Maluku Tengah tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 51 Maluku Tengah, sementara sampel diambil secara Acak dengan jumlah 27 peserta didik. Data dalam penelitian ini dihimpun melalui instrument tes yang berbentuk pilihan ganda. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis deskriptif dan menggunakan Uji Normalisasi Gain untuk menjawab peningkatan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan penguasaan konsep setelah pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning memperlihatkan adanya perubahan. Skor tertinggi 100 dan terendah 80. Sementara untuk hasil uji N-gain diperoleh 1.00 pada kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning layak dan dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pengusaan konsep peserta didik.

Abstract

Learning media is a teacher's tool in delivering teaching materials. Fun learning media will make students happy in learning. This will certainly make student learning outcomes better. The purpose of this research is to produce an integrated science crossword puzzle learning media product on the material classification of living things and material classification and changes for class VIII SMP N 56 Merangin which is valid, practical and effective. The method used to produce these products is the Development research method, namely the four-D development model. The four-D development model consists of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, the development stage and the dissemination stage. The results of this product validation are very valid from the language aspect with a value of 92.5%, material aspects 85.4%, presentation and graphic aspects 85%. The criteria for the practicality of the media are very practical and the completeness of learning outcomes using the Integrated Science TTS media is 75%. Abstrak. Media belajar adalah alat bantu guru dalam menyampaikan materi ajar. Media belajar yang menyenangkan akan membuat siswa menjadi senang dalam belajar. Hal ini tentu akan membuat hasil belajar siswa menjadi baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran Teka-Teki Silang IPA Terpadu pada materi klasifikasi makhuk hidup dan klasifikasi materi dan perubahannya untuk kelasVII SMP N 56 Merangin yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Metode yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk tersebut adalah metode penelitian Pengembangan yaitu model pengembangan four-D. Model pengembangan four – D terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu tahap pendefinisian (define), tahap perancangan (design), tahap pengembangan (develop) dan tahap penyebaran (disseminate). Hasil validasi produk ini adalah sangat valid dari aspek bahasa dengan nilai 92,5 %,  aspek materi 85,4 %, aspek penyajian dan kegrafikan 85 %.  Kriteria praktikalitas media sangat praktis dan ketuntasan hasil belajar menggunakan media TTS IPA Terpadu 75 %.

Abstract

Problem solving skills are 21st century skills that are developed in the learning process through learning tools made by the teacher. The purpose of this research was to determine the suitability of high school biology learning tools in developing student problem solving skills. This research is a qualitative research with a case study method. The data collection techniques used were interviews and documentation. The data used in the research interview data and documentation of learning tools including lesson plans, syllabus and daily test questions. Data sources came from biology teachers and students from 8 SMANs in Banten. The results showed that the biology learning device at 8 SMAN Banten reached 46.6% in the sufficient category. As for the details, namely the suitability of the lesson plan with the syllabus reached 75,4% in the appropriate category, while the results of the RPP analysis in developing problem solving skills were 53,6% in the sufficient category, and daily test questions in developing problem solving skills reached 10,3% in very lacking category. Abstrak. Keterampilan pemecahan masalah merupakan keterampilan abad 21 yang dikembangkan dalam proses pembelajaran melaui perangkat pembelajaran yang dibuat oleh guru. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kesesuaian perangkat pembelajaran biologi SMA dalam mengembangkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu data hasil wawancara dan dokumentasi perangkat pembelajaran meliputi RPP, silabus dan soal ulangan harian. Sumber data berasal dari guru biologi dan siswa dari 8 SMAN di Banten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran biologi di 8 SMAN Banten mencapai 46,4% dengan kategori cukup. Adapun dengan rincian yaitu kesesuaian RPP dengan silabus mencapai 75,4% pada kategori sesuai, sedangkan hasil analisis RPP dalam mengembangkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah yaitu 53,6% pada kategori cukup, dan soal ulangan harian dalam mengembangkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah mencapai 10,3% pada kategori sangat kurang.

Abstract

This research is the background of the problems that occur in school, namely, lack of interest in reading in students, students tend to choose subjects they like and student learning outcomes are still low seen from their KKM scores. The research objective was to develop comics on Pteridophyta material for class X SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh. The research method uses development research with the ADDIE model. The stages include Analysis, Disgn, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Products in the form of comics are needed to attract students' interest in reading. Products are validated by media experts and material experts. Validation by material experts was carried out 3 (three) times, with a final percentage of 80% meaning that the comic was in the valid category with a reasonable conclusion to be produced with revisions according to the suggestions. Meanwhile, the validation by media experts was carried out 2 (two) times by obtaining a percentage of 88%, meaning that the comic was in the very valid category with the conclusion that it was feasible to be produced with revisions according to the suggestions. The comic on Pteridophyta material for high school class X students obtained practical feasibility in the very good category. Practical feasibility was obtained from teachers and students in group trials. Eligibility of the teacher with a percentage of 88.24%, small group trials with a percentage of 85.33%, trials of two large groups with a percentage of 84.67% and 84.08% respectively. From the two large group trials, an agreement was obtained that strong and significant enough regarding the feasibility of comics on Pteridophyta material for class X high school students. Thus, the development carried out on products in the form of comics on Pteridophyta material can be produced and used in Biology learning in class X. Abstrak. Penelitian ini melatar belakangi masalah yang terjadi disekolah diantaranya yaitu, Kurangnya minat baca pada siswa, siswa cenderung memilih mata pelajaran yang disukai dan hasil belajaar siswa yang masih rendah dilihat dari nilai KKM-nya. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengembangkan komik pada materi Pteridophyta untuk siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE. Tahapan meliputi Analys, Disgn, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation. Produk berupa komik dibutuhkan untuk menarik minat baca siswa. Produk di validasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi. Validasi  oleh  ahli  materi dilakukan  sebanyak  3  (tiga) kali,  dengan memperoleh  persentase akhir  80% artinya  komik  berada  dalam kategori valid dengan kesimpulan layak  untuk  diproduksi  dengan  revisi sesuai  saran. Sedangkan  validasi  oleh  ahli  media dilakukan  2  (dua)  kali dengan memperoleh  persentase 88%,  artinya  komik  berada dalam kategori sangat valid dengan kesimpulan layak untuk diproduksi dengan revisi sesuai saran. Komik pada  materi Pteridophyta  untuk  siswa  SMA  kelas X memperoleh kelayakan  secara  praktis dengan  kategori  sangat  baik. Kelayakan  praktis  diperoleh dari guru  dan siswa  pada  uji coba  kelompok. Kelayakan  dari guru dengan  persentase sebesar  88,24%, ujicoba  kelompok kecil dengan persentase 85,33%, uji coba dua kelompok besar dengan masing-masing  persentase 84,67%  dan  84,08%.Dari  uji coba  dua  kelompok  besar didapat kesepakatan  yang  cukup  kuat dan  signifikan  mengenai  kelayakan komik pada materi Pteridophyta untuk siswa SMA kelas X. Dengan demikian, pengembangan yang dilakukan pada produk berupa komik pada materi Pteridophyta dapat diproduksi dan digunakan dalam pembelajaran Biologi pada kelas  X.

Abstract

The abundant population of plant species in Kerinci district is utilized by the community for daily needs, including using plants as medicine to cure various diseases. To help increase public knowledge, especially students, about medicinal plants, one of them is by integrating into Biology learning in Biodiversity material. This research is a development research. The development model in this study is the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The products of the Kerinci Community Medicinal Plant Encyclopedia were previously tested and validated by a team of experts, namely material experts and media experts to determine the feasibility of the products being made. The Kerinci Community Medicinal Plant Encyclopedia was validated by media experts with a very good score of 94.4% and material experts with a score of 95.46% in the very good category. Thus the encyclopedia product is said to be feasible. This product was then tested at SMAN 2 Kerinci, the trial was carried out on 2 biology subject teachers, a small group consisting of 9 students, in a large group consisting of 34 students. The test results on the teacher obtained a score of 99.2%. The test results in the small group obtained a score of 94.96% which was in the very good category. In the large group trial obtained a score of 96.44% including the very good category. Thus the product of the Kerinci Community Medicinal Plants encyclopedia is suitable for use as a learning resource. The effectiveness test of using the Kerinci Community Medicinal Plant encyclopedia is effective for improving student learning outcomes. Abstrak. Melimpahnya populasi jenis tumbuhan yang ada di kabupaten Kerinci dimanfaatkan masyarakat untuk keperluan sehari-hari, diantaranya memanfaatkan tumbuhan sebagai obat untuk menyembuhkan berbagai penyakit. Untuk membantu meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat khususnya para peserta didik terhadap tumbuhan obat salah satunya dengan mengintegrasikan kedalam pembelajaran Biologi pada materi Keanekaragaman Hayati. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan dalam penelitian ini adalah model ADDIE. Model ADDIE terdiri dari 5 tahap yaitu analysis, design, development, implementation dan evaluation. Produk Ensiklopedia Tumbuhan Obat masyarakat Kerinci sebelumnya diujicobakan terlebih dahulu divalidasi oleh tim ahli yaitu ahli materi dan ahli media untuk mengetahui kelayakan dari produk yang dibuat. Ensiklopedia Tumbuhan Obat Masyarakat Kerinci divalidasi oleh ahli media dengan perolehan skor 94,4% kategori sangat baik dan ahli materi dengan skor 95,46% kategori sangat baik. Dengan demikian produk ensiklopedia dikatakan layak. Produk ini kemudian diujicobakan di SMAN 2 Kerinci, uji coba dilakukan pada 2 orang guru mata pelajaran biologi, kelompok kecil terdiri dari 9 orang siswa, pada kelompok besar terdiri dari 34 orang siswa. Hasil uji coba pada guru memperoleh skor 99,2% hasil uji coba pada kelompok kecil memperoleh skor 94,96% yang termasuk kategori sangat baik. Pada uji coba kelompok besar memperoleh skor 96,44% termasuk kategori sangat baik. Dengan demikian produk ensiklopedia Tumbuhan Obat Masyarakat Kerinci ini layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar. Uji efektifitas penggunaan ensiklopedia Tumbuhan Obat Masyarakat Kerinci efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to develop virtual learning media using the telagram bot application in learning biology of the functional protist material and the feasibility of virtual learning media using the telegram bot application in learning. Students have a high level of difficulty in understanding and describing the life cycle of fungi. Based on this, a solution is needed that can help students and lecturers to overcome the limitations of the object to be observed by presenting the media in learning. Multimedia will stimulate some students 'sensory organs, so that students' understanding of biology becomes more perfect. Compared to conventional learning, m-learning allows more opportunities for ad hoc collaboration and informal interaction among learners. This study uses a Research and Development type of research (research and development) by developing the DDD-E model, namely decide, design, develop and evaluate. The research results obtained that, the assessment of the material results from all aspects of the assessment for the validation of the telegram bot as a learning medium is the result of the validation of the interactive multimedia learning telegram bot, the biology of the protist function, in the presentation aspect, it is obtained 85% with a very valid category.The overall media feasibility aspect has a percentage of 87 , 6%. Thus the learning bot produced in this study can be used as a reference in multimedia learning courses. Abstrak. Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengembangkan media pembelajaran virtual dengan menggunakan aplikasi bot telagram dalam pembelajaran biologi materi protista fungi dan kelayakan media pembelajaran virtual meggunakan aplikasi bot telegram dalam pembelajaran. Siswa memiliki tingkat kesulitan yang tinggi dalam memahami dan mendeskripsikan siklus hidup jamur. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka diperlukan suatu solusi yang dapat membantu mahasiswa dan dosen dalam mengatasi keterbatasan objek yang akan diamati dengan penyajian media dalam pembelajaran. Multimedia akan merangsang beberapa organ sensorik siswa, sehingga pemahaman siswa terhadap biologi menjadi lebih sempurna. Dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional, m-learning memungkinkan adanya lebih banyak kesempatan untuk kolaborasi secara ad hoc dan berinteraksi secara Informal di antara pembelajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian Research and Development (penelitian dan pengembangan) dengan pengembangan model DDD-E yaitu decide, design, develop dan evaluate. Hasil  penelitian  yang  diperoleh  bahwa, penilaian  hasil materi  dari  keseluruhan  aspek  penilaian  untuk  validasi  bot telegram sebagai media pembelajaran  adalah  Hasil validasi multimedia pembelajaran interaktif bot telegram materi biologi protist fungi pada aspek penyajian diperoleh 85% dengan kategori sangat valid Aspek kelayakan media secara keseluruhan meiliki presentase 87,6%. Dengan demikian bot pembelajaran yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai salah satu referensi dalam mata kuliah multimedia pembelajaran.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between the blended learning and offline method models on student learning outcomes in the COVID-19 pandemic. The research used was experimental. The research subjects came from 5-semester biology tadris students of the 2019/2020 academic year IAIN Kerinci. Research instruments in the form of tests and questionnaires via a google form. The data analysis technique was in the form of the t-test with Minitab 19 software. To carry out the hypothesis test, the normality test and the homogeneity test had to be done first. The results showed that the blended learning model was effective in increasing student learning outcomes in the zoology course by an average of 68.16 to 83.42. and provide a significant effect of the blended learning model on student learning outcomes in zoology material. This can be seen from the p-value of 0.000 <0.05. The blended learning model is very good to be applied in schools even in universities where this learning model is able to improve student learning outcomes in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui perbedaan  model blended learning dan luring method terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa pada pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian yang digunakan eksperimen. Subjek penelitian berasal dari mahasiswa tadris biologi semester 5 tahun ajaran 2019/2020 IAIN Kerinci.  Instrumen penelitian berupa tes dan angket melalui google form. Teknis analisis data berupa uji t dengan sofware Minitab 19. Untuk melaksanakan uji hipotesis, maka harus dilakukan dahulu uji normalitas dan uji homegenitas data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model blended learning efektif meningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah zoologi dengan rata-rata 68.16 menjadi 83.42. dan  memberikan pengaruh signifikan model blenden learning terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa pada materi zoologi. Hal dapat dilihat dari nilai p-value 0.000 < 0.05. Model blended learning sangat baik untuk diterapkan di sekolah bahkan di perguruan tinggi dimana model pembelajaran ini mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa di era pendemi covid 19.

Abstract

The design of RPP model PBL online in biology learning is very necessary, the reason is because in biology there is a lot of material that requires the design of online PBL model lesson plans to facilitate the delivery of material by teachers to students. The application of the RPP model PBL online can be used by the teacher as a guide in learning. The reason is because of the lack of teacher guidelines in designing RPP model PBL online lesson plans. Efforts that can be made to overcome this problem are by designing the optimal RPP model PBL online. The purpose of this research is to produce a product, determine the development process and feasibility and to determine the increase in student motivation after online learning. This research is a development research. The research design follows the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Products RPP model PBL online before being tested are first validated by expert lecturers using a 3-stage validation questionnaire with the final percentage acquisition of 88.75% with a very valid category, can be used without revision. After that the product of the RPP model PBL online was given to 2 biology subject teachers to see perceptions, using the teacher's perception questionnaire, the results obtained were 84.37% with a very good category, thus the RPP model PBL online was said to be feasible to be applied in learning. Furthermore, online learning is carried out in large groups of class kelas MIPA 1 students consisting of 20 students. After the trial was carried out, students were given a motivation questionnaire and obtained results with a percentage of 81.87% in the very good category. From the test results obtained, it can be concluded that the development of RPP model PBL online lesson plans can increase student learning motivation. Abstrak. Rancangan RPP model PBL daring dalam pembelajaran biologi sangat diperlukan, alasannya karena pada mata pelajaran biologi banyak sekali materi yang memerlukan rancangan RPP model PBL daring untuk mempermudah dalam penyampaian materi oleh guru kepada siswa. Penerapan RPP model PBL daring dapat digunakan guru sebagai pedoman dalam pembelajaran. Alasannya, karena minimnya pedoman guru dalam merancang RPP model PBL daring. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi hal teersebut adalah dengan merancang RPP model PBL daring secara maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan produk, mengetahui proses pengembangan dan kelayakan serta untuk mengetahui peningkatan motivasi siswa setelah pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Desain peneltian mengikuti model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahap yaitu analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi dan evaluasi. Produk RPP model PBL daring sebelum diujicobakan terlebih dahulu divalidasi oleh dosen ahli menggunakan angket validasi sebanayak 3 tahap dengan perolehan persentse akhir  88,75% dengan kategori sangat valid, dapat digunakan tanpa revisi. Setelah itu produk RPP model PBL daring diberikan kepada 2 guru mata pelajaran biologi untuk melihat persepsi, menggunakan angket persepsi guru, diperoleh hasil dengan persentase 84,37% dengan kategori sangat baik, dengan demikian RPP model PBL daring dikatakan layak diterapkan dalam pembelajaran. Selanjutnya pembelajaran daring dilaksanakan pada kelompok besar siswa kelas Χ MIPA 1 yang terdiri dari 20 orang siswa. Setelah uji coba dilaksanakan siswa diberikan angket motivasi dan memperoleh hasil dengan persentase 81,87% dengan kategori sangat baik. Dari hasil uji coba yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan RPP model PBL daring dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying of the use of Picture and Picture learning model combined with learning strategy Everyone Is A Teacher Here on the results of biology 11th Grade Students  This research was conducted at Senior High Scholl No.1 Muaro Jambi, in 2016/2017. This type of research is a True experiment. The sample used consists of 2 classes, namely experimental class and control class. The treatment was done in the experimental class by applying the Picture and Picture learning model combined with the learning strategy of Everyone Is A Teacher Here, while in the control class applying the appropriate learning model in Senior High Scholl No.1 Muaro Jambi. The data collection using the test instrument is a multiple choice question, the questionnaire is adjusted to three aspects of the learning outcomes is cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects and has been tested for validity and reliability. Can be seen the average value of the cognitive aspects of the experimental class gained 72.52  and control class gained 64,13. Hypothesis tests tarithmatic = 4,55 and a ttable = 1.671, this means tarithmetic> ttable so the hypothesis is accepted. On the affective aspects of the experimental class 80,48 and control class gained 76,19. Hypothesis tests tarithmatic= 1,981 and a value table = 1.671, this means tarithmetic> ttable so the hypothesis is accepted. In the aspect of psychomotor experimental class gained 80,90 and control class gained 63,03. Hypothesis tests t tarithmatic = 4,38 and ttable= 1.671, this means tarithmetic> ttable so the hypothesis is accepted. From these results it can be concluded that the application Model of Picture and Picture learning combined with Active Learning strategy Everyone Is A Teacher Here on student learning result on cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan penggunaan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture yang dipadukan dengan strategi pembelajaran Everyone Is A Teacher Disini terhadap Hasil Biologi Siswa Kelas XI Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri No 1 Muaro Jambi, di 2016/2017. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Eksperimen Sejati. Sampel yang digunakan terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Perlakuan dilakukan di kelas eksperimen dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture yang dipadukan dengan strategi pembelajaran Everyone Is A Teacher Here, sedangkan di kelas kontrol menerapkan model pembelajaran yang sesuai di SMA No 1 Muaro Jambi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes berupa soal pilihan ganda, angket disesuaikan dengan tiga aspek hasil belajar yaitu aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor serta sudah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Dapat dilihat nilai rata-rata aspek kognitif diperoleh kelas eksperimen 72,52 dan kelas kontrol memperoleh 64,13. Uji hipotesis taritmatik = 4,55 dan ttabel = 1,671, ini berarti thitung> t tabel sehingga hipotesis diterima. Pada aspek afektif kelas eksperimen 80,48 dan kelas kontrol memperoleh 76,19. Uji hipotesis taritmatik = 1,981 dan nilai tabel = 1,671, ini berarti thitung> ttabel sehingga hipotesis diterima. Pada aspek psikomotorik kelas eksperimen memperoleh 80,90 dan kelas kontrol memperoleh 63,03. Uji hipotesis t thitung = 4,38 dan ttabel = 1,671, ini berarti thitung> ttabel sehingga hipotesis diterima. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Model Pembelajaran Picture and Picture yang dipadukan dengan strategi Active Learning Everyone Is A Teacher Here terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada aspek kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik.

Abstract

The development of the popular scientific book Ethnobotany of the Bungur plant (Lagerstroemia speciosa) is important because it can raise the local potential of the community in the Bukit Tamiang area and as an enrichment material for the Ethnobotany course in the ULM Biology education program. This study aims to describe the ethnobotany study of Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) in the Bukit Tamiang forest area, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan and to describe the validity and practicality of the contents of popular scientific books. This method uses two types of research, namely descriptive research, interviews with the public about the Bungur plant and followed by the formative evaluation of the Tessmer test for validation and practicality of the contents of Popular Scientific Books. The results of research on Bungur plants (Lagerstroemia speciosa) in the Bukit Tamiang forest area have various studies including botanical, ethno-ecological, ethno-pharmacological, ethnoanthropological, ethno-economic, and ethno-linguistic studies. The conclusion from the development of a popular scientific book on the study of the ethnobotany of the Bungur plant (Lagerstroemia speciosa) is that expert test results were obtained by two validators with an average value of 90.3% with very valid criteria and the results of the practicality of the content on individual tests by three students getting average results. percentage 3,7% with very good criteria. The advantages of developing a popular scientific book on the ethnobotany study of the Bungur plant (Lagerstroemia speciosa) can be used by students as an enrichment material for Ethnobotany courses and can be read by the wider community because this popular scientific book developed is structured in such a way that it is easily understood by readers. However, the weakness is that the learning material contained in this developed book is insufficient so that further research is needed. Abstrak. Pengembangan buku ilmiah populer Etnobotani tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) penting dilakukan karena dapat mengangkat potensi lokal masyarakat di kawasan Bukit Tamiang dan sebagai bahan pengayaan untuk mata kuliah Etnobotani di prodi pendidikan Biologi ULM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kajian etnobotani tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) di kawasan hutan Bukit Tamiang Kabupaten Tanah Laut Kalimantan Selatan dan mendeskripsikan validitas serta kepraktisan isi buku ilmiah popular. Metode ini menggunakan dua jenis penelitian, yaitu penelitian deskriptif wawancara kepada masyarakat tentang tumbuhan Bungur dan dilanjutkan evaluasi formatif uji Tessmer untuk validasi dan kepraktisan  isi Buku Ilmiah Populer. Hasil penelitian tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) di kawasan hutan Bukit Tamiang memiliki berbagai kajian diantaranya kajian botani, etno-ekologi, etno-farmakologi, etnoantropologi, etno-ekonomi, dan etno-linguistik. Kesimpulan dari pengembangan buku ilmiah populer kajian etnobotani tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) yaitu didapatkan hasil uji pakar oleh dua validator dengan nilai rata-rata 90,3% dengan kriteria sangat valid dan hasil kepraktisan isi pada uji perorangan oleh tiga mahasiswa mendapatkan hasil rata-rata  persentase 3,7% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Kelebihan dari pengembangan buku ilmiah populer kajian etnobotani tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) ini dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa sebagai bahan pengayaan mata kuliah Etnobotani dan dapat dibaca oleh masyarakat luas karena buku ilmiah populer yang dikembangkan ini disusun sedemikian rupa sehingga mudah dipahami oleh pembaca.  Namun, kelemahannya yaitu kurang luasnya materi pembelajaran yang dimuat pada buku yang dikembangkan ini sehingga perlu adanya penelitian lanjutan.
