Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students of Sd Negeri 091450 Bah Tongguran. This study was conducted in the fifth grade of Sd Negeri 091450 Bah Tongguran, with the population used being all fifth-grade students of Sd Negeri 091450 Bah Tongguran with a sample of 25 fifth-grade students of Sd Negeri 091450 Bah Tongguran. The results of the study indicate that the use of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model has a positive influence on students' critical thinking skills in the subject of science. This is evidenced by the results of the tests before and after being given treatment (pretest and posttest). Before the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model, the average pretest score of students was 49.7143, and after the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model it increased to 82.5. From these results, the N-gain value was obtained at 0.63 which is included in the moderate category. In conclusion, students experienced a significant increase in critical thinking skills. This is evidenced by the N-Gain test showing that the N-Gain results of the experimental class obtained an average pretest value of 49.7143 and an average posttest value of 82.5, so that an N-gain of 0.63 was obtained with a moderate category. Based on these data, it can be concluded that there is an Influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model on the Critical Thinking Skills of Science in Grade V Students of SD Negeri 091450 Bah Tongguran.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Effect of Project Based Learning Model on Science Learning Outcomes of Fifth Grade Students of UPTD Sd Negeri 124385. The research design implemented is the Pre-Experimental Designs method. In this study, the population is all fifth grade students of UPTD SD Negeri 124385 Pematangsiantar. In this study, researchers chose to use a sampling technique with Total Sampling Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the results of the research study that have been selected with predetermined criteria that based on the results of the study there is an influence of the project based learning model on student learning outcomes obtained a pretest value of 48.40 and a posttest value of 83.20 which means there is an influence of the project based learning model on Learning 1-2 Theme 3 Subtheme 1 How the Body Processes Food in Fifth Grade UPTD SD Negeri 124385 Pematangsiantar. It can be concluded that by using the Project Based Learning model, it is effective to improve student learning outcomes. This explanation shows that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, meaning that there is an influence of the Project Based Learning Model on student learning outcomes in sub-theme 1 of learning 1 and 2 in class V of UPTD SD Negeri 124385 Pematangsiantar in the 2024/2025 academic year

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model on Critical Thinking Skills of Fourth Grade Elementary School Students. This type of research uses quantitative research using experimental methods. This study uses a Pre-Experimental design of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest type. The sample of this study was 25 fourth grade students of HKBP Tomuan Private Elementary School. The Pancasila Education subject obtained scores by fourth grade students of HKBP Tomuan Private Elementary School were: of the 25 students who took the pretest, there were 2 students who completed the pretest and 23 students who did not complete it with an average score of 41.96, and of the 25 students who took the posttest, 25 students who obtained scores above the KKTP with an average score of 83.72. Based on the results of the n-gain test, it states that critical thinking skills are in the moderate criteria with a score of 0.70, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that the influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the critical thinking skills of fourth grade students of HKBP Tomuan Private Elementary School in the 2025/2026 academic year has increased

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna semantik dan fungsi sosial linguistik umpasa yang digunakan dalam prosesi adat saurmatua masyarakat Batak Toba. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya peran bahasa sebagai media ekspresi budaya dan pewarisan nilai-nilai tradisional. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan semantik dan analisis konteks budaya. Data diperoleh melalui dokumentasi teks umpasa dan wawancara dengan tokoh adat Batak Toba.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa umpasa dalam upacara saurmatua mengandung makna konotatif dan simbolik yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai kehidupan, doa, dan penghormatan kepada orang yang telah mencapai kesempurnaan hidup (saurmatua). Secara linguistik sosial, umpasa berfungsi sebagai sarana penyampaian pesan moral, penguatan solidaritas sosial, serta media komunikasi estetis yang mempererat hubungan kekerabatan. Dari sisi kebudayaan, umpasa memperlihatkan keterkaitan erat antara bahasa dan adat Batak Toba, terutama dalam menjaga prinsip dalihan na tolu, nilai penghormatan kepada leluhur, serta pandangan hidup mengenai kehidupan dan kematian.Kesimpulannya, umpasa dalam prosesi saurmatua tidak hanya memiliki makna semantik yang mendalam, tetapi juga berperan penting sebagai wahana pelestarian identitas dan nilai-nilai budaya masyarakat Batak Toba yang tetap relevan di tengah arus modernisasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berisi tentang nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam dalam tradisi ritual tolak bala. Tujuan penelitian ini 1) untuk mengkaji pelaksanaan ritual tolak bala pada masyarakat Desa Tepapan Kuala 2) untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam dalam ritual tolak bala pada masyarakat Desa Tempapan Kuala 3) untuk mendalami konsekuensi moral dan sosial dalam pelaksanaan ritual tolak bala pada masyarakat Desa Tepapan Kuala. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam dalam ritual tolak bala pada masyarakat di Desa Tempapan Kuala adalah nilai akidah, nilai ibadah, dan nilai akhlak dan nilai sosial. Nilai akidah yaittu keyakinan masyarakat dengan adanya ritual tolak bala dapat menolak musibah, bala bencana dan wabah penyakit. Nilai ibadah yaitu hampir semua rangkaian ritual tolak bala itu adalah ibadah seperti sholat maghrib dan isya berjamaah, sholat hajat, peembacaan ratibul haddad, dan pembacaan syair burdah. Nilai akhlak bahwa didalam pelaksanaan ritual tolak bala yang muda menghormati orang yang lebih tua serta adab membawa kitab shahih bukhari dan shahih muslim. Nilai sosial yaitu masyarakat lebih erat tali persaudaraannya, saling mendoakan, dan bersedekah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sesudah melakukan ritual tolak bala masyarakat memiliki perasaan lebih tenang dan nyaman, mereka tidak lagi kepikiran tentang wabah penyakit dan bencana alam, tetapi kalau memang akan terjadi disaat masyarakat telah melakukan tolak bala, mereka mengganggap nya sebagai teguran dariAllahSWT.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information regarding 1) motivation and job satisfaction 2) the influence of motivation and job satisfaction on the discipline of educators. Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model has an effect on the learning outcomes of Science and Social Studies (IPAS) for Grade IV students at UPTD SD Negeri 124398 Pematangsiantar. This research is a quantitative study with an experimental approach, using a Pre-Experimental Design type “one group pretest-posttest design.” The sample of this study consisted of 22 Grade IV students at UPTD SD Negeri 124398 Pematangsiantar. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the treatment. The data analysis techniques used were the N-Gain test and hypothesis testing. The N-Gain score obtained was 0.57, which indicates that the applied learning model was quite effective in improving students’ IPAS learning outcomes. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing results showed that the calculated t-value (tcount) = 15.532 and the t-table value = 1.721, resulting in tcount > ttable (15.532 > 1.721). This demonstrates that there is a significant difference between the students’ pretest and posttest results. Thus, Ha in this study is accepted and H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model has a significant effect on the IPAS learning outcomes of Grade IV students at UPTD SD Negeri 124398 Pematangsiantar

Abstract

This study aims to examine the reconstruction of masculinity among men on TikTok and how audiences interpret the biased standards produced by the platform. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with Gen Z men and analyzed using NVivo to identify thematic patterns. The results show that masculinity on TikTok has shifted from traditional concepts toward a more performative, visual, and lifestyle-based identity. Masculinity is constructed through practices of curated identity, symbolic performance, and lifestyle display, all of which are influenced by algorithms and digital culture. On the other hand, these emerging standards create pressures such as comparison pressure and lifestyle pressure. However, audiences are not passive; they actively interpret content through dominant, negotiated, and oppositional readings. Thus, masculinity on TikTok becomes a dynamic arena of meaning contestation between media representation and individuals’ social experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse how Wolipop.detik.com frames androgyny in fashion and lifestyle news. This study departs from the view that androgyny in the media sphere does not appear neutrally, but is constructed through language choices, narrative arrangement, visual emphasis, and specific meaning-making processes that influence how the public understands gender expression that differs from common norms. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki’s framing analysis model, which consists of syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures. This framework is strengthened by Judith Butler’s theory of gender performativity to examine how masculine and feminine expressions in the media are produced through the repeated presentation of bodies, clothing, style, and visual appearance. The primary data consist of Wolipop news texts containing representations of androgyny, while the secondary data are drawn from books, scholarly journals, academic articles, and relevant previous studies. The findings show that Wolipop dominantly frames androgyny as a visual expression that is aesthetic, modern, inspirational, and closely associated with popular culture. The dominant patterns that emerge are the androgyny aestheticisation frame, celebrity legitimation frame, and lifestyle-oriented frame, which position androgyny as a fashion and lifestyle trend rather than as an issue of gender identity debated within a broader social dimension. These findings extend media and gender studies by showing that digital lifestyle media do not merely present fluid gender expression as a visual trend, but also construct symbolic legitimacy for androgyny through aesthetic, popular, and depoliticised framing mechanisms.

Abstract

This article examines the relationship between Indonesia’s military modernization and its regional diplomatic influence in Southeast Asia from 2005 to 2024. The study aims to empirically assess whether sustained increases in defence expenditure contribute to strengthening Indonesia’s diplomatic influence within ASEAN’s cooperative security framework. Grounded in a positivist approach and informed by realism and power transition theory, the study assumes that material capability can support diplomatic influence, while recognizing that its effects are mediated by institutional and normative factors, including leadership in regional forums and adherence to ASEAN consensus-based norms. The study employs a quantitative longitudinal design using annual data on defence expenditure, diplomatic influence, and macroeconomic indicators. Diplomatic influence is operationalized using the “diplomatic influence” component of the Asia Power Index, which captures a country’s ability to shape regional outcomes through diplomatic networks and institutional engagement. The analysis combines Pearson correlation, scatter plot visualization, and multiple linear regression. The findings show that while Indonesia’s military expenditure increased significantly over time (r = 0.929; p < 0.001), its relationship with diplomatic influence is weak and statistically insignificant (r = 0.160; p > 0.05), and remains insignificant in the regression model (β = −0.004; R² = 0.209). These results indicate that military modernization does not independently enhance diplomatic influence when tested alongside other variables. Instead, Indonesia’s regional influence is more strongly associated with institutional engagement, multilateral diplomacy, and leadership within ASEAN mechanisms. This study contributes to the literature by providing longitudinal quantitative evidence, which remains limited in existing research on defense diplomacy in ASEAN that is largely qualitative or descriptive. The findings suggest that military modernization is a necessary but insufficient condition for enhancing regional influence, highlighting the importance of integrating material capability with institutional and cooperative diplomatic strategies.
