Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and psychological well-being in students in Medan. Based on the results of the Pearson correlation test, it can be concluded that there is a strong positive relationship between self-compassion and psychological well-being in students who are writing a thesis. The higher the level of self-compassion, the higher the psychological well-being felt by students. The results of the categorization of psychological well-being based on aspects found aspects of self-acceptance (78.1%), positive relationships with others (82.2%), and autonomy (83%), indicating a good ability to accept oneself, establish healthy social relationships, and make decisions independently. In the aspects of environmental mastery, life goals, and personal growth, the distribution is more balanced between the medium and high categories, which indicates that some students still need to develop the ability to adapt to the environment, find clear life goals, and improve personal growth

Abstract

The essence of leadership is important to understand and actualize in community life, this is due to seeing various phenomena that occur in society in everyday life which always clash with applicable rules or norms and laws. So an attitude of tolerance is needed in dealing with problems that occur in society. The aim of the research is to describe the essence of leadership in Sayyid Qutb interpretation, the research method uses library research (literature study) through content analysis. The research results show that the Caliph has the position of leader and enforcer of Allah's laws on earth. A caliph is a person who exercises power and management of a particular area in a community. A caliph, apart from being a political leader, can also refer to humans in general who are indicated as God's representatives on earth in carrying out their mandate well, being used as leaders as priests to be emulated, and ulil amri to be obeyed in terms of goodness, carrying out good deeds and enforcing justice. amidst society.

Abstract

The Quran is a book for humanity; it holds a sacred mythological significance in every message it conveys. The abundant symbolic language found in the Quran provides guidance to humanity. However, interpretations of the Quran have often seemed to ignore the depth of its meaning and instead follow prevailing ideologies. Understanding the Quran is not as easy as simply turning the palm of one's hand. The text of the Quran contains numerous meanings, beyond simply understanding the text's narrow meaning. This has been the goal, from ancient times to the present, of reading the Quran to uncover its hidden meanings. In the semiotic category, the Quranic text as parole is supplanted by the text as langue, so the Quran remains parole for believers. Langue is the totality of passively acquired habits taught by a language community, and parole is the sum of what people say and is the individual manifestation of language.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the Talking Stick learning model on fifth-grade students’ learning outcomes in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) at SD Negeri 091608 Sinaksak. The background of this research is the low student achievement, as many students failed to reach the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKTP). The research employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 25 fifth-grade students. The research instrument consisted of 30 multiple-choice questions administered in both pretest and posttest stages. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ achievement, with the mean score rising from 42.4 in the pretest to 88.08 in the posttest. The N-Gain analysis produced a score of 0.7214, categorized as high. These results indicate that the Talking Stick learning model is effective in enhancing students’ understanding of IPAS, particularly on the topic “Parts of the Earth.” Furthermore, this method fosters active participation, builds confidence in expressing opinions, and strengthens collaboration among students. Therefore, the Talking Stick model can serve as an enjoyable and interactive learning strategy that teachers may adopt to improve the quality of IPAS instruction in elementary schools

Abstract

Perceived stigmatization has remained a recurring problem affecting different individuals such as the undergraduate population. Studies using different predictors of perceived stigmatization have produced varied results. Therefore, this study examines the moderating effects of resilience and positive emotion on psychological distress and perceived stigmatization among undergraduates in a Nigerian university. A cross–sectional survey was adopted while data were conveniently collected from 461 participants using validated questionnaires. Data collected were analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression analysis to test five hypotheses which were accepted at p =.001 level of significance. The result revealed that psychological distress (β = .67, p = .007) and resilience (β = .15, p = .001) predicted perceived stigmatization among study participants. In addition, the result showed that resilience (β = -.01, p = .018) and positive emotions (β = .01, p =.025) moderated between psychological distress and perceived stigmatization among study participants. However, positive emotion did not predict perceived stigmatization among study participants (β = .02, p =.724). The study concludes that resilience and positive emotion provide buffering effects on perceived stigmatization among undergraduates. The study recommends that parents, university authority and other stakeholders should provide psychological services to reduce psychological distress and perceived stigmatization among undergraduates.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kontekstual dalam IPS Sosiologi menjadi penting karena membantu siswa memahami konsep-konsep sosial melalui pengalaman nyata dan kehidupan sehari-hari. Banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami materi Sosiologi karena disampaikan secara abstrak dan kurang terkait dengan kondisi sosial yang mereka alami. Dengan pendekatan kontekstual, siswa diajak untuk mengaitkan teori-teori sosiologis dengan realitas sosial di sekeliling mereka, sehingga materi lebih bermakna, relevan, dan dapat dipahami.dengan baik. Penulisan ini berfokus untuk menganalisis pentingnya penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual dalam mata pelajaran IPS Sosiologi serta dampaknya terhadap peningkatan pemahaman dan minat belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah kajian pustaka (library research), yaitu dengan mengumpulkan, menelaah, dan menganalisis berbagai literatur, jurnal, dan hasil penelitian terdahulu yang berkaitan dengan pembelajaran kontekstual dan implementasinya dalam pembelajaran Sosiologi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kontekstual mampu meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, pemahaman konsep sosiologi, serta kemampuan berpikir kritis dan analitis. Pendekatan ini juga membantu siswa mengembangkan empati sosial dan kesadaran terhadap permasalahan sosial di lingkungan mereka. Guru yang menerapkan pembelajaran kontekstual cenderung lebih mudah menguatkan materi dengan isu-isu lokal dan global, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik dan relevan bagi siswa. Selanjutnya, hasil kajian juga menegaskan bahwa penerapan CTL dapat memperkuat kolaborasi antar siswa dan meningkatkan keterlibatan emosional dalam proses pembelajaran. Siswa menjadi lebih aktif berpendapat, berdiskusi, dan mampu mengambil keputusan berdasarkan pemahaman terhadap kondisi sosial nyata. Integrasi pembelajaran kontekstual dengan teknologi pembelajaran digital juga menjadi alternatif yang menjanjikan dalam mengatasi keterbatasan waktu dan sumber daya di lapangan. Dengan demikian, pendekatan ini tidak hanya relevan dari sisi pedagogis, tetapi juga adaptif terhadap tantangan pendidikan modern.

Abstract

Hardiness Personality, Burnout, Brimob Personnel This study aims to examine the Relationship Between Hardiness Personality and Burnout in Brimob Personnel of North Sumatra Regional Police. In this section, a number of conclusions obtained from the results of the research that has been carried out will be presented, accompanied by several practical and methodological suggestions for further research. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been carried out, the following conclusions can be drawn Based on the research that has been carried out, it shows that there is a negative relationship of -0.402 between hardiness personality and burnout in Brimob Personnel of North Sumatra Regional Police with a significance value of 0.000, so that the established hypothesis can be accepted. This means that the higher the hardiness personality, the lower the burnout experienced by Brimob Personnel of North Sumatra Regional Police. From the results of categorization based on variables, it can be seen that in the hardiness personality variable, Brimob Personnel of North Sumatra Regional Police are in the high category, namely 94 out of a total of 100 respondents. This shows that most Personnel have relatively high hardiness personality abilities. Furthermore, based on the categorization results of the burnout variable, the majority of personnel are in the low category, namely 52 people (53%), the medium category is 4 people (4%), and the high category is 44 people (44%). Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the contextual learning model on the learning outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) students in Grade III at UPTD SD Negeri 122399 Jl. Mawar Pematangsiantar. The research instrument consisted of cognitive test items that had undergone validity and reliability tests, resulting in 20 valid and reliable items with a high reliability coefficient of 0.885. These test items demonstrated good discriminative power and an appropriate difficulty level for third-grade elementary students. Data were collected through pretests and posttests administered before and after the treatment using the contextual learning model. The pretest results showed an average student score of 44.4, with 23 students not meeting the Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP), while the posttest showed a significant increase with an average score of 79.6 and 23 students declared passing. Data analysis using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test revealed a normal distribution, and hypothesis testing yielded a significance value of 0.00 (p < 0.05) with tcount > ttable. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using the contextual learning model on IPAS learning outcomes. Observational results support these findings by indicating increased student engagement and interest during the learning process. Abstract

This study aims to determine the Analysis of the Philosophical Meaning of Boraspati as a Cultural Symbol of the Batak Simalungun Community (Semiotic Study). Based on the results of research conducted by researchers regarding the Boraspati symbol in the culture of the Batak Simalungun community reviewed from the semiotic study of Charles Sanders Peirce, it can be concluded that Boraspati is a traditional symbol that has a deep philosophical meaning and does not merely function as an ornament or visual decoration. The Boraspati symbol represents the outlook on life, belief system, and social structure of the Simalungun community which is full of local wisdom values. Through a semiotic approach, Boraspati is understood as a cultural sign that contains moral and spiritual messages, which depicts a harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and the Creator. The results of this study indicate that each symbolic element in Boraspati reflects the ethics of life, social order, and cultural identity of the Simalungun community which is passed down from generation to generation

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model on summary writing skills among fifth grade students at UPTD SDN124405 Pematangsiantar. The population in this study includes all fifth-grade students, while the sample consisted of 23 students selected using proportional random sampling. This research employs a quantitative approach and falls under the category of pre-experimental research, using a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The researcher used an instrument consisting of 6 essay questions. This instrument was used to assess the influence of the problem-based learning model on students’ summary writing skills in Indonesian language learning. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. After data collection, the analysis was conducted using Aiken's V Index and the N-Gain Test. The results of the N-Gain test showed that the average pretest score in the experimental class was 37.67, and the average posttest score was 85.53, resulting in a gain of 0.78. This indicates that the experimental class experienced a significant improvement in creative thinking skills, falling into the “very high” category (g ≥ 0.7). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model has a positive effect on the summary writing skills of fifth-grade students at UPTD SDN 124405 Pematangsiantar in the 2023/2024 academic year
