Abstract

This research is motivated by the evolution and transformation in technology, which has also influenced the economic sector. Online marketing is one form of community adaptation in the era of digital transformation, creating both opportunities and new challenges for business actors in maximizing profits. KUKITO, or Kukis Kabuto, is an innovative product developed by students of Halu Oleo University during their participation in the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) in 2024. Online marketing was applied as one of the strategies to optimize profits, and eventually, KUKITO achieved third runner-up in the food and beverage category (early stage) at the 13th KMI EXPO in 2024. The effectiveness of online marketing in increasing profits remains a subject requiring further analysis, especially in the context of student snack businesses such as KUKITO. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of marketing strategies and analyze the impact of online marketing on KUKITO's profitability. The research location was determined purposively, with the subject being the owner of KUKITO. To describe the marketing application, the researcher used qualitative descriptive analysis tools with variables including marketing strategy and marketing mix. Meanwhile, to analyze the impact of online marketing on KUKITO’s profit, a paired t-test was used to compare two related samples—profits gained from online and offline marketing over 28 weeks (June–December 2024). The research findings show that the implementation of online and offline marketing at KUKITO differed by 60% in terms of the marketing concept variables and 75% in terms of the marketing mix. Overall, there is a significant difference between KUKITO’s online and offline marketing strategies. This is evident in the sales results: offline marketing resulted in 2,208 products sold, averaging 78 products per week, which is higher than online marketing with 1,446 products sold, averaging 51 products per week. However, based on the results of the t-test, the significance value (two-tailed) was 0.249 (> 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the profits of online marketing and offline marketing in the KUKITO business during the research period

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the factors that influence cashew production in Lamorende Village, Tongkuno District, Muna Regency, (2) determine the production elasticity of each input on cashew production in Lamorende Village, Tongkuno District, Muna Regency. The types and sources of data in this study use primary data and secondary data with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The data analysis used is the Cobb-Douglas analysis, which is transformed into a linear form by applying the natural logarithm (ln). The results of the analysis show that of the four input variables studied, namely land area, number of trees, labor, and plant age, only two variables have a significant effect on cashew production, namely land area and number of trees. These two variables have a positive and real effect on increasing cashew production, while labor and plant age do not have a significant effect on production. The results of the production elasticity analysis show that the variable number of trees has an elasticity value of more than one (elastic), while land area, labor, and plant age have an elasticity value of less than one (inelastic). This indicates that increasing the number of trees has a greater impact on production than other variables. Furthermore, the returns to scale (RTS) of cashew farming in Lamorende Village are in a state of increasing returns to scale, with a total elasticity value of 1.467

Abstract

This study aims to analyze a thematic tourism development model that reflects the unique identity of Tista Tourism Village, Tabanan Regency. This area is a rural-based tourism destination that relies on natural, agricultural, and local cultural potential, with high tourist interest in the community's daily activities. The increase in similar tourism villages in the surrounding area demands the creation of tourism products that can provide more authentic and memorable experiences while sustainably preserving the village's culture, environment, and identity. This effort is also expected to facilitate the creation of tourism products that can meet market demands and expectations, support the sustainability of village identity, and fulfill the aspirations of the community and village government. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, structured interviews, documentation, and literature studies to analyze existing conditions and identify internal and external factors as a basis for formulating village themes. Informants were selected purposive from government, management, community, and tourist elements. Data analysis was conducted through a process of reduction, systematic presentation, and drawing conclusions, reinforced by a SWOT analysis to map the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that influence model development. The results of the study show that Tista Village is at the development stage in the TALC (Tourism Area Life Cycle), with spontaneous and interactive community participation. The theme “CANDA TAWA” (Culture, Adventure, Nature, Daily Activity, Agriculture, Tradition, Authenticity, Wellness, Arts and Craft) is formulated as a thematic tourism theme, which becomes a reference for developing local identity-based tourism to strengthen the competitiveness of destinations adaptively.

Abstract

The implementation of political communication strategies requires the need for the right approach so that political messages can be effectively accepted by the public, especially in areas with complex social, cultural, and political dynamics. This research aims to analyze the political communication strategies carried out by Muhammad Sinen in building an image, shaping public opinion, and strengthening political support in the City of Tidore Islands. The research method used is a qualitative approach with case studies, where data is obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, documentation, and literature review involving informants from various circles, including community leaders, success teams, and the general public. The results of the study show that the communication strategies used, such as face-to-face communication, the use of social media, social activities, and communication based on local wisdom, have proven to be effective in expanding the reach of political messages and strengthening closeness with the community. The obstacles faced include limited communication infrastructure, resistance from some groups, and local political dynamics that often change. The integration of local cultural values such as family, mutual cooperation, and respect for traditional leaders strengthens communication strategies so that they are more persuasive, inclusive, and able to build public trust. The findings of this study prove that the combination of modern communication media and local cultural values can increase the effectiveness of political communication strategies and strengthen the community's support base.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of the mind mapping technique as a teaching strategy to optimize students’ English vocabulary learning. This qualitative research involved one English teacher as the subject, and the data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using descriptive analysis. The findings reveal that the teacher’s strategy in implementing mind mapping plays a significant role in improving students’ vocabulary mastery. However, several challenges emerged, such as limited explanation, time constraints, and the lack of additional materials, which caused difficulties in spelling and memorization. To overcome these problems, the teacher combined multiple strategies, including presenting vocabulary items with diagrams, using visual aids, and emphasizing clear word structures. Furthermore, the teacher applied essential mind mapping principles, such as using colors, images, keywords, associations, and central images to present ideas more effectively. These strategies ultimately made vocabulary learning more engaging, creative, and effective, enabling students to memorize words more easily, quickly, and enjoyably.
