Abstract

Waste management is a very serious environmental problem faced by Indonesian society due to the increasing amount of waste generated in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine or evaluate waste management at Makale Market and its impact on the community in Tana Toraja Regency. This study used several methods: cluster technique was used to group traders who would become samples, the Slovin formula was used to determine the number of samples to be studied, and descriptive analysis was used to analyse waste management at the market by market managers, trader behaviour, and the impact on the surrounding community by collecting data through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The results of the study show that waste management at Makale Market does not yet meet the criteria (SNI 19-2454-2002) in terms of containment (organic and inorganic waste is still mixed), collection (there is a collection schedule), transfer (transfer is carried out every day), management (no recycling is carried out), and final disposal (the equipment used is adequate). The impact on the community (discomfort) requires the Tana Toraja Regency Environmental Agency to provide more full support for waste management, especially at Makale Market in Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi.

Abstract

Education requires innovative teachers to improve learning quality, but challenges like limited technology and unsupportive policies persist. A survey in MTs (Islamic junior high schools) in Bogor Regency reveals that many teachers struggle to recognize, generate, promote, and implement innovative ideas. This study offers strategies to enhance teachers’ innovative behavior through strengthening learning organizations, job satisfaction, and IT-based training. A quantitative survey method with path analysis and SITOREM Analysis was used to examine variable relationships and determine strategies for improving teachers’ innovative behavior. Data were collected through questionnaires from 252 certified teachers in private MTs in Bogor Regency, with descriptive and inferential statistical analysis measuring the research variables’ direct and indirect effects. The findings show that Learning Organization, Personality, Job Satisfaction, and Organizational Commitment significantly influence teachers’ Innovative Behaviour. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment act as intervening variables in some relationships, except for organizational commitment, which is ineffective as a mediator between personality and innovative behavior. These results emphasize the importance of a supportive work environment and job satisfaction in fostering teacher innovation.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the differences in marketing strategies used by hydroponic farmers in selling lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in Kendari City. The development of digital technology has encouraged some farmers to use platforms such as Facebook Marketplace, while others still rely on conventional methods. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the differences in sales results between the two methods. This research employs a comparative quantitative approach with a total of 30 hydroponic farmer respondents. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires, documentation, and literature study. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, as the normality test results indicated non-normal distribution. The results show that the average sales using the conventional method amounted to $40,677.67, which is higher than the Facebook Marketplace method at $24,777.67. The Wilcoxon test significance value was 0.002 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two sales methods. A total of 83.33% of respondents achieved higher sales results through the conventional method. Thus, the conventional method is proven to be more effective in increasing the income of hydroponic farmers in Kendari City, although Facebook Marketplace remains relevant as an alternative marketing channel in the digital era

Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for a numeracy assessment model grounded in local cultural contexts and supported by Computer Assisted Test (CAT). The proposed model addresses the persistently low numeracy proficiency among Indonesian students, as evidenced by national and international assessments such as PISA and the National Assessment, as well as the scarcity of culturally relevant and contextually meaningful assessment instruments. By integrating constructivist learning theory, ethnomathematics, authentic assessment principles, and item response theory (IRT), this framework is designed to render numeracy assessments more contextual, adaptive, and psychometrically reliable. The research yielded a comprehensive development model comprising the following stages: (1) planning through systematic literature review and field observation; (2) design of numeracy competency grids and culturally contextualized test items rooted in Bugis-Makassar traditions; (3) expert validation to ensure content and cultural validity; (4) digitization of instruments into a CAT platform; and (5) pilot testing to collect empirical data on item characteristics, reliability, and validity. This study is expected to make a significant contribution to enhancing students’ numeracy literacy by promoting authentic, culturally embedded assessments. Furthermore, it supports the broader adoption of digital assessment technologies in educational settings. By engaging students with assessment experiences anchored in their local cultural heritage, the model aims to foster numeracy competencies that are not only academically robust but also critically reflective, contextually grounded, and applicable to real-world challenges.

Abstract

The proliferation of gangsterism in Indonesia’s industrial zones has emerged as a serious threat to the investment climate and national economic stability. Informal violence, extortion of logistics, and the monopolisation of distribution channels by mass organisations operating under gangsterism create legal uncertainty, reduce business efficiency, and generate hidden economic costs that negatively affect investor confidence. This study aims to systematically explore the behavioural and cultural characteristics of gangsterism in industrial areas and to examine the social, legal, and economic factors driving its expansion. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research draws on secondary data from academic journals, institutional reports, and legal documents. The findings reveal that gangsterism is not merely a consequence of weak law enforcement but also a product of social inequality, structural unemployment, and the involvement of local political actors in informal power relations. The study further shows that gangsterism disguised as community organisations follows a systematic pattern with the potential to disrupt industrial supply chains and undermine long-term investment certainty. Its original contribution lies in the identification of two forms of industrial gangsterism—informal and formal-political and in mapping their nexus with the degradation of microeconomic security. The study recommends the establishment of an Anti-Gangsterism Task Force in strategic industrial areas as well as the strengthening of regulations and inter-agency coordination to foster a clean, stable, and globally competitive industrial ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for the development of a school principal's academic supervision model as an effort to improve the quality of learning through teacher coaching. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon that the implementation of academic supervision in schools still faces various obstacles, such as limited suitability with teachers' needs, lack of openness, lack of feedback, and approaches that are not fully relevant to teacher characteristics. This study uses a descriptive approach by combining quantitative and qualitative analysis. The subjects of the study were teachers and principals who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed using descriptive statistics for quantitative data and thematic analysis for qualitative data. The results of the study show that most teachers consider that the academic supervision carried out by school principals is still not in accordance with the real needs in the field. In terms of openness and transparency, more than half of the respondents assessed that supervision had not been fully implemented openly. In terms of feedback, even though some teachers have received constructive input, there are still teachers who feel that they are lacking or do not get feedback after supervision. Other findings show that the supervision approach that teachers are most interested in is based on local wisdom, followed by peer approaches and the use of technology. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need to develop a more adaptive, participatory, and needs-based academic supervision model.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country with the fourth largest population in the world, thus having enormous human resource potential. However, this potential has not been fully utilised because many high school graduates do not continue their education, work, or participate in training. One way to prepare high school students in Lamongan Regency to face these challenges is through entrepreneurship education, which is expected to strengthen skills, recognise opportunities, and foster entrepreneurial intent. The research method used is the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Square (PLS). Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics. The results of the analysis show that: (1) The results of the study indicate that there is a positive and significant effect of entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial skills, (2) The results of the study indicate that there is no positive and significant effect of opportunity recognition on entrepreneurial skills, (3) The results of the study indicate that there is a direct positive and significant effect of entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intention. (4) The results show that there is a direct positive and significant effect between the variables of opportunity recognition and entrepreneurial intention, (5) The results show that there is a direct positive and significant effect of entrepreneurial skills on entrepreneurial intention, (6) The results show that entrepreneurial education has an effect on entrepreneurial intention through entrepreneurial skills. (7) The results show that opportunity recognition does not have an effect on entrepreneurial intention through entrepreneurial skills. The results of this study are expected to encourage schools to strengthen the implementation of entrepreneurial education by providing more practical activities, such as business projects, business incubation programmes, or collaboration with local MSMEs
