Abstract

Pujiharjo Village in Malang Regency is a coastal area frequently affected by floods, posing significant environmental health challenges. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Community-Based Total Sanitation (CLTS) as a strategy to strengthen environmental health and disaster preparedness in disaster-prone communities. A descriptive case study design was applied using secondary data from the 2024 CLTS monitoring survey in Pujiharjo. A total of 1,369 households were analyzed based on five CLTS pillars. Data collection involved structured household surveys and laboratory water quality testing. Descriptive statistics were used to evaluate the percentage of households meeting CLTS indicators and to identify gaps compared with national and international standards. The study found high achievements in hygiene-related pillars, namely handwashing with soap (86.41%) and food and water management (95.76%), indicating improved household health behavior. However, the low performance in solid (41.12%) and liquid (29.88%) waste management highlights weaknesses in sanitation infrastructure and community participation. These conditions increase environmental contamination risks, especially during floods. Integrating CLTS into disaster preparedness programs is essential to enhance resilience and reduce vulnerability to environmental health hazards. Strengthening community participation, sanitation infrastructure, and intersectoral coordination is crucial to improve environmental health resilience in disaster-prone areas like Pujiharjo Village

Abstract

The ability of prospective SD/MI (elementary school) teacher students to identify local wisdom values in children's literary texts varies and has not yet fully demonstrated depth in cultural analysis. This condition raises questions about the extent to which students are able to recognize and interpret the local wisdom values contained in children's literary texts. This study aims to analyze the ability of students in the PGMI Study Program to identify local wisdom values in children's literary texts. This research employed a descriptive design with a qualitative approach involving 20 students who were assigned to analyze literary texts based on local wisdom. The data were classified into three ability categories high, moderate, and low based on the accuracy of value identification, depth of analysis, and the ability to relate the values to the cultural context of Ternate. The results showed that 55% of the students were in the high category, as they were able to identify implicit values and relate them to the philosophy of Ternate traditional customs. A total of 35% were in the moderate category, demonstrating the ability to identify general moral values but not yet specifically linked to the local context. Meanwhile, 10% were categorized as low due to difficulties in determining the moral message and interpreting cultural symbols. These findings indicate that the majority of students have demonstrated good ability in identifying local wisdom values. However, strengthening instruction in children’s literature based on local culture is still necessary to enhance analytical depth and cultural sensitivity among prospective elementary/Islamic elementary school (SD/MI) teachers. The findings of this study indicate the importance of strengthening local culture based children’s literature learning for prospective SD/MI (elementary school) teachers, so that they develop stronger cultural sensitivity and deeper analytical skills in utilizing literature as a medium for character education grounded in local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to implement the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum at SDN 3 Jedang using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model. The evaluation was conducted to determine the extent to which the PAI curriculum was able to achieve the goal of developing students' religious, moral, and social character in accordance with the direction of the Merdeka Curriculum policy. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation of PAI teachers, the principal, and fifth-grade students. The results showed that from a contextual aspect, a religious community environment, support from school policies, and parental involvement were the main supporting factors, although limited infrastructure and student learning motivation remained obstacles. From an input aspect, PAI teacher competence, principal support, and student involvement in religious activities strengthened the curriculum implementation, but limitations in technology-based learning media were still felt. From a process aspect, teachers used a variety of methods such as lectures, discussions, questions and answers, and worship practices oriented towards character building, although limited time and diverse student motivations were challenges. From the product aspect, the implementation of the PAI curriculum has a positive impact on the spiritual development and character of students, marked by increased discipline, politeness, solidarity, and active involvement in religious activities. Therefore, this study confirms that the implementation of the PAI curriculum at SDN 3 Bahaya has been quite effective, but still requires optimization of infrastructure facilities, differentiation strategies, and the use of creative media so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of schools in early prevention of drug abuse through a systematic review of various qualitative studies in elementary school settings. The method employed was a qualitative narrative study approach, allowing for a deeper understanding of the meanings, experiences, and social dynamics involved in the implementation of school-based prevention programs. Data were collected from scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025 and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results indicate that the role of schools in preventing drug abuse is reflected in three main dimensions: educational, preventive, and collaborative. Schools act as agents of value socialization through curriculum integration, character building, and the provision of a supportive social environment. Teachers and counselors play a strategic role as social role models and psychosocial support. However, this study also identified several challenges in implementation, including limited resources, inadequate training for educators, and suboptimal integration of the program into educational policy. Theoretically, these findings strengthen the relevance of social ecology and social learning approaches in understanding children's behavior related to the risk of substance abuse. This research has implications for the development of more contextual, participatory, and sustainable education policies and programs for early prevention efforts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the deep learning paradigm as a pedagogical strategy for strengthening multicultural education in Indonesia. The main problem identified is that the current implementation of multicultural education in schools tends to be normative-theoretical, resulting in the value of tolerance often being understood only textually without any concrete internalization of attitudes. Furthermore, previous studies on deep learning have focused more on cognitive achievement or critical thinking skills without specifically linking them to the context of Indonesia’s cultural plurality. Using library research, this study explores carious relevant literature to formulate a conceptual foundation for developing learning practices. The result indicate that a deep learning approach that integrates the principles of mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning is capable of transforming diversity issues into an authentic and reflective learning context. The novelty of this research lies in the synthesis of aspects of thought, heart, feeling, and body within a multicultural framework, enabling students not only to master material but also to internalize the values of inclusivity. This strategy offers a solution to the dominance of conventional learning, enabling a generation that is academically intelligent and possesses sustainable multicultural awareness.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transformation of Islamic Boarding School Management in the digital era by focusing on the integration of traditional values and technological innovation at Al-Munawwir Islamic Boarding School, South Sangatta. A qualitative field research approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation for data collection. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model with a thematic approach. The findings reveal that digital transformation occurs in a gradual and adaptive manner, encompassing the digitalization of administration, the enhancement of technology-supported learning, and the strengthening of digital communication integrated into managerial functions. Digitalization is found to be complementary (augmentative) rather than substitutive, where technology reinforces rather than replaces traditional practices, with Islamic values such as adab (ethics), akhlaq (morality), and the authority of the kyai serving as the core guiding principles. However, the transformation process faces several challenges, including limited infrastructure, low digital literacy among human resources, and cultural resistance. This study proposes the Value-Embedded Adaptive Digital Transformation Model, which emphasizes the integration of core values, digital innovation, and adaptive management as key determinants of successful transformation. The findings contribute theoretically to the development of Islamic education management and provide practical implications for pesantren governance in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of PISA-based mathematical literacy on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability in terms of prior mathematical knowledge. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 60 students enrolled in a Basic Statistics course in the Actuarial Science study program at Universitas Negeri Makassar. The data were collected through tests of mathematical literacy, problem-solving ability, and prior mathematical knowledge. Data were analyzed using multiple regression with an interaction term. The results show that PISA-based mathematical literacy has a significant positive effect on students’ problem-solving ability (β = 0.528; Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). Prior mathematical knowledge also has a significant effect (β = 0.347; Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). Furthermore, there is a significant interaction between mathematical literacy and prior knowledge (β = 0.015; Sig. = 0.015 < 0.05), indicating that the effect of mathematical literacy is stronger among students with higher prior knowledge. These findings suggest that integrating PISA-based tasks and considering students’ prior knowledge are essential for improving mathematical problem-solving ability.
