Abstract

This article discusses the current condition of relations between the United States and Central Asia. As a historically advantageous geostrategic region, Central Asia has long attracted major powers. The United States has its own reasons for being keen on this strategic chokepoint. Given its role in shaping the international system, the United States has a stake in every corner of the globe. The United States asserts that it was among the first states to recognize the independence of Central Asian states and has assisted these countries in establishing their sovereignty. Although the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan has caused some negative consequences for Central Asian countries, it does not mean that US interests in the region have ended. But the development of a new strategy by the United States for the Central Asian region is an important issue. Additionally, the United States must use its influence in Central Asia to counteract Russia's hegemony there and provide a barrier against China's massive inflows.

Abstract

Marriage is an act recommended by Allah and by the Prophet, this can be seen in the Al-Qur'an and the Hadith of the Prophet where the content is in the form of a recommendation to marry. In 2009, the MUI issued a ijtima' decision on early marriage. According to the MUI, early marriage is legal as long as the conditions and pillars of marriage have been fulfilled, but it is illegal if it causes harm. In terms of maṣlāḥah, early marriage is not against Islamic law, because marriage aims to create problems. However, the impacts arising from early marriage tend not to bring problems to the marriage partner. This is the focus of this research. The research question is what is the background to the emergence of the 2009 MUI Fatwa on the Law on Early Marriage, what is the intention of getting married at an early age unlawful if there is concern that harm will arise in the MUI fatwa. According to existing regulations, the age for student acceptance is for elementary school students in the age range of seven years to a maximum of 12 years and a minimum of six years on July 1 of the current year. Then junior high school students with a maximum age of 15 years and high school 21 years. This means that according to applicable regulations, high school students are allowed to marry because they are between 21 and 23 years old. An in-depth study is needed on this matter.

Abstract

Religion and the environment are something different. The relationship between religion and the environment is called ecotheology. Ecotheology is literally defined as a combination of theology and ecology which emphasizes observation and theological reflection on temporary natural conditions as God's creation which is threatened with destruction due to human behavior. This ecotheology emphasizes that God is not solely on the side of humans but on all of His creation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between religion and the environment (ecotheology) which ultimately influences human behavior towards the environment. In this study, researchers used library research methods with a descriptive approach. Analysis of the research data presents Arne Naess' s Deep Ecology theory as an analytical knife to achieve resolution of the problem under study. The results of the research show that to understand environmental sustainability is not only enough to think about it but also requires awareness that can be realized in every activity. Through religion which is used as a driving force and self-motivation, humans can be controlled, especially in terms of behavior in managing and utilizing the environment
