Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Scout extracurricular activities and the character values contained in Scout extracurricular activities at SMAN 1 Talang Padang. This study intends to find an overview of management strategies especially in scout extracurricular activities. This type of research is descriptive qualitative in examining field phenomena that occur. This research was conducted on principals, vice principals for curriculum, scout coaches, and student activities both in the field and indoors. Data collection is carried out by means of interviews, observation, and documentation.  The results are the application of good management to extracurricular scouts to shape the character is carried out in 4 stages, namely: planning the learning environment, organizing the learning environment, directing the management, and controlling the management of the learning environment. The planning stage includes the recruitment of scout coaches by the principal, time management, financial management, preparation of work programs, and preparation of materials. Organizing is done by giving responsibility to the homeroom teacher to direct students to participate in extracurricular scouts, and giving responsibility to the scout coach. The implementation of activities is carried out once a week. Briefings are made by the principal to the scout leader so that the activity can run well. Controlling is a supervision carried out to find out whether scout activities are running well or not

Abstract

This research is based on the concepts and implications of efforts to improve the quality of education using a Total Quality Management (TQM) based approach, especially in the context of improving teacher performance discipline. This research aims to outline the importance of implementing TQM in improving the quality of education through increasing the discipline of teacher performance as well as identifying concrete solutions that can be taken to improve teacher performance in educational institutions. The research method used is a literature review study or literature study referring to the prism standard flow of searching for papers based on keywords from a website in the form of Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Emerald Insight. Then the researcher’s group with identification, screening and include stages then review the findings regarding TQM in schools and its impact on teacher work discipline and education quality. The results found that teacher performance discipline is a very important aspect in the educational context because it has a significant impact on the quality of education. However, there are still findings that there are irregularities in disciplinary practices carried out by teachers in a few educational institutions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan karena kebijakan pembaharuan kurikulum nasional menjadi kurikulum Merdeka Belajar, yang berisi pendekatan Differentiated Learning dan Proyek Penguatan Profil Siswa Pancasila (P5) untuk jenjang SD hingga SMA. Hal yang menarik untuk dipelajari disini adalah bagaimana menerapkan kebijakan ini dalam ranah pendidikan vokasi di SMK (SMK). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki bagaimana pendekatan pembelajaran yang diferensiasi diterapkan pada Proyek Penguatan Profil Siswa Pancasila di SMK. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman digunakan dalam analisis data, termasuk pengurangan data, tampilan, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan melibatkan analisis kesiapan sekolah, membentuk komite, menetapkan indikator keberhasilan, memberikan pelatihan P5 bagi guru, memetakan siswa menggunakan penilaian diagnostik, menentukan tema P5, dan merancang modul pembelajaran. Implementasi meliputi sosialisasi P5, proses pembelajaran yang berbeda, bimbingan produk, dan proyek expo produktif. Evaluasi telah dilakukan melalui sesi refleksi di akhir setiap pelajaran, rubrik kinerja, dan tes tertulis. Secara umum, pendekatan pembelajaran yang dibedakan sebagai modul Proyek Penguatan Profil Siswa Pancasila di Sekolah Vokasi telah dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan dan memberikan dampak positif bagi siswa, ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya antusiasme dan hasil penilaian yang memuaskan.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the planning of recruitment, selection, placement, reward, supervision, and supporting factors in the implementation of educational quality management at SMP IT Al Mumtaz Pontianak. The research takes the form of a qualitative approach with a case study design. There are four subjects aged 35-43 years old, consisting of 1 principal, 1 vice principal for curriculum, 1 treasurer, and 1 staff member of the foundation in the HR department. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilizes the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, which involves data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Data validity is ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The main findings of the research are: (1) Planning (recruitment) is carried out in accordance with the stages, guided by quality management, and complies with the SIT educator standards, (2) Selection is done through administrative processes, interviews, and microteaching, (3) Placement is based on educational qualifications and competency as educators, (4) Rewards for educators meet school criteria in the form of direct and indirect monetary and material incentives, (5) Supervision is effectively conducted through routine agendas to report activity results and school budgets, (6) Supporting factors in the implementation of educational quality management include internal and external factors. In conclusion, educational quality management has been implemented at SMP IT Al Mumtaz Pontianak. The implications range from planning (recruitment), selection, placement, reward, supervision, and supporting factors in the implementation of quality management at SMP IT Al Mumtaz.

Abstract

Schools are not merely institutions for learning; they are pivotal in molding character and fostering competitive youth. Primary education, particularly, lays the cornerstone for children's academic, social, and character development. In the contemporary educational landscape, literacy, numeracy, and religious education stand as indispensable pillars, essential not only as basic skills but also as the bedrock for academic prowess and daily life. Character development takes precedence, offering a sturdy moral and ethical scaffold for students. However, amidst the ever-changing times, the task of providing comprehensive education grows more intricate, prompting schools to embrace innovative programs that seamlessly integrate crucial elements such as literacy, numeracy, religious education, and character building. Enter the SMART Student Program, designed to bolster students' literacy, numeracy, and tahfidz skills while nurturing robust character traits. This study delves into the SMART Student Program's impact on enhancing students' literacy, numeracy, and tahfidz skills and its repercussions on character development. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach, data from questionnaires, program outcomes, and student attendance spanning two months are analyzed. Regression and correlation analyses reveal a significant positive correlation between the SMART Student Program and students' basic competencies, underscoring the pivotal role of school culture in shaping student character and academic performance The study reveals a significant correlation between school culture and students' basic competencies, supported by a significance value < 0.05. This study furnishes empirical evidence underscoring the significance of school culture in character formation and advocates for educational paradigms centered on character values.

Abstract

The implementation of school-based management is expected to increase the independence of schools in allocating available resources. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The method for determining subjects was done using the Purposive Sampling technique. Data collection techniques consisted of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model by Milles and Huberman. The technique for checking data validity used source triangulation, technical triangulation, time triangulation, and member checks. The research results obtained are as follows: (1) school-based management planning is carried out by formulating, establishing, and developing the school’s vision, mission, and goals, identifying school needs, and compiling a work program, (2) implementation is conducted by creating an organizational structure, carrying out various school activities according to the school work program, and following the principles of independence, partnership, transparency, and accountability, (3) evaluation is done by monitoring programs, conducting school self-evaluation, and assessing the achievement of work programs, (4) supporting factors include complete and appropriate facilities and infrastructure, quality teachers and educational staff, good partnerships with various parties, a unique school culture, and a strong sense of nationalism, (5) inhibiting factors include the unavailability of water sources in the school environment and the suboptimal empowerment of teachers and educational staff. In conclusion, the implementation of school-based management has improved the quality of education at Senior High School 1 Sungai Kakap, Kubu Raya Regency.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that many institutions have not yet implemented the holistic integrative early childhood education (PAUD) program. The aim of this research is to understand the implementation of essential services, parental involvement, challenges and obstacles, evaluation, and the impact of the holistic integrative PAUD program in PAUD units. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with case studies in several PAUD institutions that implement the program. Data collection was done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the implementation of the holistic integrative early childhood development program conducted at TK ABA Wates, TK ABA Wonokriyo, and TK Muslimat can meet the essential needs of children, enhance cooperation with parents in carrying out the school program, and the implementation of holistic integrative PAUD also impacts child development, the quality of institutions, and the role of parents. However, there are still challenges and obstacles, such as limitations in facilities and the competency of educators, and schools still need to conduct evaluations and monitoring to ensure the effectiveness of the holistic integrative PAUD program. The conclusion of this research emphasizes the importance of understanding, integrity, and good management, as well as ongoing support from the government and relevant stakeholders to ensure the success of early childhood development programs.

Abstract

A positive work culture in the school environment is a key element in improving the quality of education. This study aims to analyse the role of school principals in building a teacher's work culture at SD Negeri 2 Kuripan, focusing on five main aspects: discipline, cooperation, commitment, creativity, and professionalism. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results of the study show that school principals play a central role in creating a conducive work environment. The principal encourages discipline through exemplary and fair application of rules, facilitates cooperation through collective activities, and strengthens teachers' commitment by providing appreciation and emotional support. In addition, creativity and innovation are encouraged through the provision of facilities and the freedom to experiment, while teachers' professionalism is enhanced through continuous training and effective monitoring. The conclusion of this study confirms that strategic, inclusive, and vision-based leadership of school principals can significantly improve teachers' work culture. The recommendations are directed at strengthening professional development, internal communication, and a culture of innovation to support the sustainability of improving the quality of education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze: (1) the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning(PBL) model assisted by YouTube in geography learning, and (2) its effect on students’ learningmotivation and learning outcomes. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Penebel usinga quasi-experimental approach with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Class samples wereselected through simple random sampling from equivalent class pairs, resulting in class X2 as theexperimental group (E) and class X4 as the control group (C). Data collection was carried out throughobservation, surveys, tests, documentation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed usingqualitative descriptive methods and inferential statistical analysis with a t-test. The results indicatethat: (1) the YouTube-assisted PBL model can be implemented by geography teachers with a very highlevel of effectiveness (score of 87.5), (2) the implementation of the model has a highly significanteffect on students’ learning motivation (significance value 0.000 < 0.05), and (3) on students’ academicachievement (significance value 0.003 < 0.05). Based on these findings, the YouTube-assisted PBLmodel is recommended as an interactive learning alternative for high school geography teachers toenhance student motivation and academic performance.

Abstract

Leadership in Islamic educational institutions plays a crucial role in fostering organizational harmony and effectiveness, particularly in managing conflicts. This study aims to identify the ideal leadership style for conflict management in Islamic educational institutions through an empirical qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis at several Islamic educational institutions. The findings indicate that transformational and participative leadership styles are more effective in resolving conflicts compared to authoritarian or laissez-faire approaches. Leaders who demonstrate strong communication skills, actively listen to diverse perspectives, and make fair decisions tend to create a more conducive working environment. This study highlights that adopting adaptive leadership styles grounded in Islamic values can enhance conflict management within Islamic educational institutions.
