Abstract

Finding out how Puja Bakti is used to increase belief in Buddha Dharma through Buddhist education classes in class X at SMKS Kasih Maitreya-Selatpanjang is the aim of this action research project. The findings of the study using techniques for planning, carrying out, observing, and reflecting. The results of the learning and comprehension of devotional service demonstrate that it has been well implemented. The average student understanding increased from 77 in the pre-cycle to 83 in the first cycle and then to 88 in the second cycle until all students had completed (> 75 KKM) receiving Buddhist Education lessons. In percentage terms, the understanding increased by 9% in the first cycle and 19% in the second cycle to 100%. This demonstrates that pupils have a successful comprehension of and application of Buddhist education and Puja Bakti. Teachers of Buddhist education participate more actively in the monastery's Puja Bakti implementation.

Abstract

Based on initial observations, ten students in class VII A of Metta Maitreya Junior High School Pekanbaru have not met the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) that has been set. Based on these observations, research will be conducted on how the role of classroom management in increasing the interest in learning Buddhist Religious Education and Budi Pekerti Class VII A Students of Metta Maitreya Junior High School Pekanbaru. Qualitative research methodology will be used. This research will be conducted from December 2024 to March 2025.  Metta Maitreya Junior High School located at Jln. T. Tambusai, Komp. Puri Nangka Sari, Pekanbaru, Riau, is the research location. Buddhist Religious Education and Budi Pekerti teachers and students of class VII A of Metta Maitreya Junior High School Pekanbaru, Riau, became the data sources in this research. Data collection techniques used were documentation and interviews. Based on the results of the study, the role of classroom management in increasing the interest in learning Buddhism and Budi Pekerti Education of Class VII A Students of Metta Maitreya Junior High School Pekanbaru is that classroom management plays a role in increasing the interest in learning Buddhism and Budi Pekerti Education of Class VII A of Metta Maitreya Junior High School Pekanbaru. The evidence is from the results of this study which shows that classroom management plays a role in increasing interest in learning Buddhism and Budi Pekerti Education Class VII A Metta Maitreya Junior High School Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Buddhist teachers and the implementation of strengthening character education at SMPS Kasih Maitreya Selatpanjang by using descriptive qualitative methods, data collection techniques with interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. Character education is education that develops cultural values ​​and character in students so that it becomes the basis for them to think, behave, act in developing themselves as individuals, members of society, and citizens. The values ​​of strengthening character education that become dominant in this study include honest, disciplined, orderly, clean, creative, obedient, polite and caring, while the less dominant characters include respect, neatness. The results of the study show that first; The role of Buddhist teachers in strengthening character education at SMPS Kasih Maitreya Selatpanjang has been well implemented, as evidenced by the results of the percentage of questionnaires, observations, and interviews with principals and teachers of 84%. Second, the implementation of strengthening character education for students of SMPS Kasih Maitreya Selatpanjang has reached 53%, which the principal and teachers say has not been optimal in strengthening character in schools, so there needs to be improvements such as the habituation of school culture aspects of 5S (smiles, greetings, greetings, politeness, and kindness). polite), 3D (self-discipline, time discipline, and regulatory discipline), 3 Love (love heart, loving smile, and loving behavior), so that the character becomes a habit at school and outside of school.

Abstract

Strengthening religious attitudes in human life is very important to implement, religion teaches its people to always be able to establish harmony and a high sense of tolerance. This is an obligation and a shared task that must be done and carried out for all levels of society wherever they are. The main thing that must be done by individuals and groups in an area to maintain and carry out their duties in organizing harmonious religious attitudes, namely from each individual must have a loving heart and awareness in ourselves that we as individuals who believe in God must have feelings and feelings that can appreciate every other individual. Attitude and character have a great influence on strengthening religious attitudes, strong faith and deep belief in religious teachings are also true religious attitudes. The purpose of this study was to determine efforts to implement strengthening religious attitudes of Buddhists in Penyengat Village. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. Qualitative methods are research methods used to research natural object conditions. The subjects of the study were Buddhist religious figures and community leaders in Penyengat Village. Data analysis was carried out using an interactive model, namely, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verifications. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: The efforts made by the Maitreya Buddhist community of Penyengat Village, Siak Regency in strengthening religious attitudes have been good, the implementation and real practices have been seen in the daily lives of Maitreya Buddhists in Penyengat Village. The correct religious attitude is that every community in a place can have good moral values, this can be seen in the Penyengat Village area which has and has implemented a sense of belief in the teachings of Maitreya Buddhism by diligently coming to worship and participating in positive activities held at the monastery, being active and carrying out various positive activities at the place of worship or monastery of Maitreya Buddhists in Penyengat Village.

Abstract

This research is based on the problems that occur in the factors that influence the motivation and students’ learning activeness in Buddhist subject at Junior High School 2 Mempawah Hilir, such as (1) Factors that influence students’ learning motivation in Buddhist subject, (2) Factors that influence students’ learning activeness in Buddhist subject. This study aims to describe factors that influence the motivation and learning activeness of students in Buddhist subject. This research is using a qualitative descriptive method. The data of this research was collected by doing an interview and observation. The interview was conducted by the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, vice principal for student affairs, parents and the ninth grade of Buddhism students. The observation was conducted directly and indirectly on the object of the research by filling out sheet. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that there are four things that influence motivation and students’ learning activeness. First, motivation is a factor that allows students to be more concentrated, more enthusiastic and creates feelings of joy so that students do not get bored easily, do not easily forget in their efforts to study. Second, learning activeness is influenced by physiological factor which include physical (sensory) and physical conditions, and psychological factor which include attention, response, and memory. While the physical condition becomes an inhibiting factor that influence students’ learning activeness. Meanwhile, the external factors that influence students’ learning activeness are non-social factors, such as places and facilities, then the social factors, such as teachers and friends. Places, facilities, and teachers are factors that support students’ learning activeness. Meanwhile, friends is a factor that influence students and lead them into a positive direction.

Abstract

The scientific approach in Buddhism and Ethics Education for literature explanation is still lacking. In fact, the approach is important to be understood by Buddhist Education and Budi Pekerti teachers. Therefore, research will be made on the Scientific Approach in Learning Buddhist Education and Budi Pekerti. This research uses a qualitative method with the type of literature study.  Literature study research is the result of research that makes theoretical studies as the basis for its discussion. Therefore, the theory in literature study research must be complete so that the results of the research are also complete.  The time in this research is from January to March 2025. For the research data validity testing plan, namely using the credibility test, dependability test, and conformity test. Based on the results of the study, the scientific approach has many advantages that are very beneficial for student development in terms of knowledge, attitudes, and skills in learning Buddhist Religious Education and Budi Pekerti. The scientific approach is an idea (at the philosophical level) to achieve goals that can be implemented by anyone. The scientific approach can be implemented by every Buddhist Religious Education and Budi Pekerti teacher to achieve learning objectives. Furthermore. Learning activities carried out through the Scientific Method are through the process of observing, questioning, trying, reasoning, and communicating.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh ajaran Buddha terhadap kebudayaan dan gaya hidup masyarakat Indonesia. Buddhisme, yang masuk ke Nusantara pada abad ke-5 Masehi, telah memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk norma dan nilai sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan dengan menganalisis berbagai teks dan sumber akademis untuk memahami integrasi prinsip-prinsip Buddhis dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa ajaran inti Buddhisme, seperti Empat Kebenaran Mulia dan Jalan Mulia Berunsur Delapan, tercermin dalam nilai-nilai masyarakat Indonesia seperti kesederhanaan, kasih sayang, dan harmoni dengan alam. Selain itu, penelitian ini menyoroti interaksi dinamis antara nilai-nilai tradisional Buddhis dan modernitas di era kontemporer. Peran komunitas Buddha dalam melestarikan kearifan lokal dan mempromosikan kohesi sosial melalui inisiatif seperti pelestarian lingkungan dan kerukunan antaragama juga dikaji. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa nilai-nilai Buddhis berkontribusi secara positif dalam memperkuat filosofi "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" Indonesia, mendorong perdamaian dan saling menghormati dalam masyarakat yang pluralistik. Temuan ini menegaskan relevansi berkelanjutan ajaran Buddha dalam menghadapi kompleksitas kehidupan modern sambil menjaga warisan budaya.

Abstract

This research is motivated by problems in internalizing Samma Ajiva for Buddhists as a basis for consideration of true livelihood in the 121 Express Travel Business Environment, Kec. Tebas Kab. Sambas Kalbar. The aim of this research is to find out the internalization of Samma Ajiva for Buddhists as a basis for consideration of true livelihood in the 121 Express Travel BusinessThis type of research is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection was done by interview and observation. Interviews were conducted with the head of the Express Company, staff and passengers of 121 Express. The aim is to obtain more in-depth information about the internalization of Samma Ajiva for Buddhists as a basis for consideration of a decent living in the Travel 121 Express business environment. Observation is a data collection technique carried out by filling in the sheets provided.Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that a) the characteristics of a profession that is appropriate and does not harm other parties is one that does not harm other parties in carrying out their work, a true profession has ethics and a code of ethics that has a sense of responsibility. b) results or profits are not the main thing to achieve, but rather consider the impact of the profession itself.

Abstract

This study focuses on increasing the ethical moral values ​​of Buddhist education for students. Religious education, moral ethics are important factors in realizing a complete Indonesian human being who is faithful, devoted to God, has noble character, is physically and mentally healthy, can utilize knowledge, skills for the good of many people, contributes to the harmony,progress of the nation and world. This qualitative research is a case study format, the sample is selected purposively, the participants are the leaders of the education, the teaching staff and the students of the Kasih Maitreya Private Vocational School. Collecting data by observation, interviews, documentation and triangulation. Data analysis with interactive model (miles and Huberman) through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing. The validity of the data is carried out with the concept of validation in the form of triangulation, member check. The research it was found that 1. the implementation of Morality Learning at Kasih Maitreya Selatpanjang Private Vocational School has been implemented but is still not optimal, it needs to be improved again, starting from Religious, Education; moral ethics, social activities; discipline; democracy; honesty; independence; school cultures such as 5S, 3K, 3 Love, 3D, 8 Virtue; responsibility, respect for the environment. 2. The application of moral values ​​to the development of students in Private SMK Kasih Maitreya Selatpanjang has experienced a proud increase, especially in terms of increasing self-discipline, time, school rules,student participation in social and religious activities organized by the school, the Foundation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of instilling character education values ​​through Buddhist Religious Education to grade 1 elementary school students at the Mandala Maitreya Buddha Sunday School in Pekanbaru. The background of this study is the importance of character formation from an early age, especially through religious education that is able to instill moral, ethical, and spiritual values. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the instillation of character education values ​​through Buddhist Religious Education learning for grade 1 elementary school students at the Mandala Maitreya Buddha Sunday School in Pekanbaru is carried out systematically and enjoyably. The character values ​​that are instilled include love, discipline, responsibility, and respect. The instillation process is carried out through the Dhamma story method, Buddhist chants, Puja Bakti activities, and good behavior practices in everyday life. Supporting factors in this process include the role of teachers as role models, parental support, a conducive learning environment, and interesting learning methods. However, there are also several inhibiting factors, such as limited understanding of early childhood students, limited learning duration, lack of supporting facilities, and lack of consistency in the application of values ​​in the family environment.
