Al-Bahjah Journal of Islamic Community Service (ABJIS) published by the Institute for Research and Community Service, Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Al-Bahjah Cirebon (LPPM STAI AL-BAHJAH) is a peer-reviewed journal which contains scientific articles from various scientific disciplines adopted in various service activities to society and other applied research. Abstract

The implementation of education in Indonesia has entered the digital era (digital society), especially online learning is carried out with the help of technology through various Android applications, computers/laptops so mastery of the use of technology is really needed for teachers. However, one of the problems in learning is the teacher's skills in mastering and using digital for learning activities, creating interactive teaching materials as a reconciliation of education and entrepreneurship. The aim of this service is to provide training in making VBA-based interactive teaching materials for teachers at SMP Negeri 32 Bandung, with a total of 10 teachers. The method used is classical by providing theoretical and practical material regarding the creation of interactive teaching materials with steps to identify problems, solve problems (preparation stages, implementation stages and evaluation). In the final stage, it continues with the individual method of providing individual direction to the teacher so that they can develop the work of the teaching materials to be used as a target for entrepreneurship to produce a profit. As a result of this service activity, a high positive and enthusiastic response was obtained from teachers so that it is hoped that school agencies or educational institutions will have the assets to continue to develop teachers' potential in mastering digital so that it can be applied in learning and entrepreneurship activities.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of Al-Bahjah Foundation UMKM players regarding the implementation of sharia accounting. This program is expected to encourage consistent application of sharia accounting principles and improve UMKM financial management, thereby producing financial reports that are accurate and comply with sharia standards. The implementation method used is participatory and integrated, starting with a needs survey, followed by intensive training, workshops and mentoring. The material provided includes basic sharia accounting principles, financial recording and reporting practices, as well as the use of sharia accounting software. Monitoring and evaluation is carried out through pre-test, post-test, implementation observation, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. Service results are measured based on increased knowledge, consistent application, as well as increased transparency and competitiveness of UMKM.

Abstract

Students who have obstacles in learning mathematics often have difficulty in solving problems due to deficiency of concepts understanding, afraid of making mistakes and receiving revisions from teachers, and initially assume that mathematics is difficult. Mentoring was carried out in class VII of SMP Negeri 15 Kerinci on the material of One Variable Linear Equations. The mentoring team consisted of 3 mentors who were carried out at school and outside of school. The mentors provided assistance by re-explaining the material and parts that were difficult for students to understand and also helping students in doing assignments given by the teacher. With this mentoring, the difficulties experienced by students in learning mathematics can be reduced and students can understand the material clearly. As a result of the mentoring, students who had difficulty in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and lacked understanding of reading questions and also students who did not like mathematics lessons were helped in understanding the material being taught. The mentoring team received a very good response from students and teachers, with the presence of the mentoring team students were willing to work on the questions given and learn to solve the questions

Abstract

One of the big problems that is often experienced by our society at this time is the problem of unemployment which is increasing day by day. This occurs due to an imbalance between population and available jobs. However, when viewed from a different perspective, each individual can create employment opportunities provided that they have the potential to create regional economic independence. This work-based KKN service provides training to students by practicing skills in making tempeh. This soybean product is in great demand and popular in the market, besides that it has a high nutritional content and an affordable price. Based on the results of observations and interviews, the participants participated in the activities enthusiastically and enthusiastically. This activity makes students start to consider starting a business so they can earn additional income. It is hoped that with this training students can increase their potential in entrepreneurship

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the role and participation of PGRI Silampari University in providing solutions and targeting problems faced by the community, in this case teachers at SD Negeri 38 Lubuklinggau. The long-term goal is to increase inclusivity in learning in elementary schools. The method used is Peer Assisted Learning Strategies which consists of 6 stages: 1) problem identification, 2) designing needs analysis, 3) workshop and mentoring, 4) implementation, 5) monitoring and observation of activities, and 6) reports and follow-up. The results obtained showed that there was an increase in teachers' builiding capacity in the skill of compiling statistical literacy assessment instruments based on live worksheets, in addition to that there was an increase in the average knowledge of assessment from 7.5 to 8.4. The teacher gave a positive response during the workshop.

Abstract

Abstract Childhood and school-age years are a crucial period for character development, making it essential to be filled with values-based education. This community service initiative aims to support character education for school-aged children through the Magrib Mengaji (Qur’an recitation after sunset prayer) program. The method employed in this program is Participatory Action Research (PAR), emphasizing community-driven innovation by actively involving local figures in the process of change. The results of the program demonstrate that Magrib Mengaji meaningfully contributes to shaping children's character, particularly in fostering religiosity, discipline, and a sense of social responsibility. Positive behavioral changes were observed in various aspects. In terms of religiosity, children became more aware and consistent in performing the Maghrib and Isha prayers in congregation. In terms of discipline, they arrived before prayer time, showed orderliness during Qur’an recitation, and attentiveness during short sermons. As for social responsibility, it was reflected in how they communicated respectfully with teachers and peers, as well as how they maintained cleanliness and tidiness of the spaces and items they used.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out with the main background so that the people of Sirnagalih village, Cianjur district, could massively reduce the school dropout rate with the Smart and Active Barudak program. Thus, this service activity aims to increase parents' awareness and children's interest in going to school. The service method is carried out by providing counseling and providing training in collaboration with the community work team in Sirnagalih village. In general, the activity went well. The participation and enthusiasm of the participants in this activity could be seen from the active discussions. The impact of this activity can increase parental awareness and children's interest in going to school so that the school dropout rate can be reduced and decrease drastically.

Abstract

This workshop aims to equip prospective mathematics teachers with the skills to explore numeracy problems in tourism contexts. The workshop is designed using a service learning approach and involves students from various universities across the Sumatra region. The core activities include identifying sequences of tourism activities, exploring numeracy problems embedded in each activity, and formulating context-based problems. The main output is a mini-project in the form of contextual open-ended math problems. The success of the workshop is measured through pretest and posttest comparisons, participant satisfaction surveys, and levels of active engagement. The results show that this approach effectively enhances students’ competence in designing mathematics instrumen based on local contexts.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling are in a transition period from conventional-based services to internet-based services. The presence of technology is the biggest challenge for today's individuals, who have used internet-based service media. Such individuals are called generation Z born around 1995 to 2010. The demands of technological developments are the biggest obstacles for BK teachers born in generations X and Y. The purpose of this study is to find the communication experience of Generation Z in building an online business through social media. The study used a qualitative method with data collection using observation and interview techniques. The subjects of the study were individuals born in 1998, 2000, 2004. The activities of individuals born in generation Z are very dependent on smartphones can provide a sense of comfort, security, happiness and peace, this is felt by individuals when accessing several applications available on smartphones. The use of smartphones makes it easy for individuals to surf the internet without limits. This affects the shift in paradigms and attitudes of individuals both consciously and unconsciously. The results of the study show that individuals born in generation Z can feel the freedom and ease in developing an online business career without having to need a place and capital, especially for beginners in online business as resellers.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to optimize the quality of education at KB PAUD Terpadu Al-Bahjah by enhancing teacher competence through a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) approach. The method involved initial observation, material preparation, interactive FGDs, and post-activity evaluation. The results revealed an improvement in teachers’ understanding of classroom management, curriculum planning, and the implementation of creative strategies based on group discussion. Scientific findings indicate that FGDs promote collaboration, critical reflection, and the sharing of best practices among educators, significantly contributing to professional development. This aligns with collaborative learning theories emphasizing social interaction as a means of competency improvement. The program created a positive impact by fostering new skills and a collaborative work culture that supports improved educational quality in early childhood institutions.
