Abstract

The evolving era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 demands that individuals possess a diverse range of skills, including entrepreneurship. However, students at MAN 5 Agam still lack entrepreneurial skills, as they tend to prioritize religiosity over practical skills. To address this issue, this study aims to integrate religious education with entrepreneurial skills through the studentpreneurship program, preparing students for the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The objectives of this study are: (1) to explore the implementation of the studentpreneurship program at MAN 5 Agam, conducted annually, and (2) to assess the improvement of students' entrepreneurial character through this program in response to the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth observation and documentation analysis. The results indicate that the studentpreneurship program has been successfully implemented, leading to a positive impact on students, including the development of an entrepreneurial mindset through the creation of products such as satay, bread, and traditional pastries. These entrepreneurial skills not only contribute to students' personal development but also equip them with the competencies necessary to compete in the evolving job market of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) learning on the comprehension of Islamic religious subjects at Jatimekar State Elementary School in Baleendah District, Bandung Regency. The research addresses the observed differences in religious lesson comprehension between elementary and early education. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental model was employed, involving 84 sixth-grade students divided into experimental and control groups. Data was collected through comprehension tests covering PAI material from Chapters 1 to 4 and questionnaires. The analysis revealed that students who participated in MDTA learning had a better understanding of Islamic religious material compared to those who did not. These findings suggest that MDTA learning significantly enhances the comprehension of Islamic religious subjects in elementary schools. The study advocates for stronger synergy between early and formal education to improve the quality of Islamic religious learning. This research aims to inform more effective education policies to enhance the quality of religious education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate lecturer competencies at State Christian Religious Universities (PTKKN) in Indonesia, focusing on pedagogic, personality, social, and professional dimensions. Lecturers from seven state Christian higher education institutions (HEI)—Ambon, Manado, Tarutung, Toraja, Palangkaraya, Kupang, and Sentani—were sampled, with 21 lecturers selected from each institution for a total of 147 participants. Mix-method research was employed, incorporating a questionnaire based on Perdirjen Number 2626 of 2023 for the quantitative analysis, which involved descriptive statistics to summarize the data. Qualitative data were gathered through online in-depth interviews with five lecturers from each institution, selected based on survey responses to ensure data saturation. Thematic analysis and data triangulation were used to provide a richer understanding of the quantitative findings. The study revealed that most lecturers are at Levels 1 and 2, demonstrating a basic understanding and application of pedagogical competencies but needing further development in evaluation, reflection, collaboration, and mentoring. Lecturers at Level 3 showed proficiency in evaluation and improvement, while Levels 4 and 5 exhibited advanced collaboration and expert mentoring skills. Challenges identified include additional workload and administrative responsibilities at lower levels and difficulties in engaging less experienced colleagues at higher levels. This study recommends enhancing development programs to improve foundational knowledge at Levels 1 and 2, reinforcing collaboration and mentoring at Levels 3 and 4, and addressing workload issues to support professional growth. Continuous professional development is crucial for improving educational quality and advancing lecturer competencies at Christian HEI

Abstract

Employing disabled lecturers on campus necessitates an inclusive culture which can be achieved through positive social perception and student acceptance. This study aims to (1) examine the relationship between student perception and social acceptance of disabled lecturers; (2) describe the differences in student perception and social acceptance based on gender. A quantitative survey approach was employed, with the study conducted at the IAIS Sambas campus, Indonesia. The respondents comprised 102 active students from the Faculty of Da'wah and Humanities. Data analysis included correlation analysis, t-tests, and ANOVA. The results of this study indicate: (1) a positive and very strong correlation (r = 0.626) between student perception and social acceptance of disabled lecturers, and 2) that female students have more favorable perceptions and higher social acceptance of disabled lecturers compared to male students. These results contribute empirically to the field of inclusive education in Indonesia, particularly within Islamic religious colleges.

Abstract

The discourse of science integration within Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) has now entered the institutionalization phase, though it still faces conceptual and practical challenges. This study explores the institutionalization process of the science integration discourse through a case study of the Integration-Interconnection (I-Kon) idea at the Graduate School of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta (UIN Jogja). Using a qualitative approach and case study methodology, the research involved literature studies, interviews, and observations to understand the implementation, outcomes and factors supporting or hindering the I-Kon idea, especially from the students’ perspectives. The findings of this study reveal that the formal, informal, and hidden curricula at UIN Jogja complement each other in institutionalizing the I-Kon idea. Analysis on 334 student theses identified three main typologies: 'Linear-Concentration', 'Multidisciplinary Linear-Concentration', and 'Multidisciplinary Cross-Concentration'. The study concludes that the success of I-Kon implementation depends on students’ adaptability and the support of the academic environment. These findings offer critical insights for evaluating and developing the implementation of science integration in other PTKI.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the internalization of religious moderation among Muslim students at ITB and IPB and its implications for the deradicalization movement in Indonesia. There are four main pillars that indicate national commitment: tolerance, non-violence, and respect for local traditions and culture. Two important factors motivated the writing of this article: first, the suspicion that radicalism occurs among students, and second, the belief that most radicalism occurs on non-religious campuses due to a lack of understanding of Islamic religious sources. Are these assumptions true? Therefore, this research was conducted on the campuses of ITB and IPB, which are well-known non-religious campuses in Indonesia. This research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews. The study concluded that the internalization of moderation at IPB and ITB is very good, drawing insights from various sources including the campus environment, social media, several studies, and the broader community. Students at both campuses generally exhibit a moderate attitude, although some students' understanding of moderation is not yet fully developed. For example, when asked to choose a president, 45% of students chose a Muslim candidate, while 40% based their choice on justice and skills rather than religion. Based on the moderate attitudes of students at both universities, the behavior of religious radicalism is unlikely to occur or even exist. Thus, students on both campuses are considered to have implemented the four main pillars of religious moderation.
