Tarbiatuna: Journal of Islamic Education Studies is a journal published in the Study Program of Department of Islamic Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, Islamic Institute of Laa Roiba Bogor. This journal is published twice a year in April and Oktober. Furthermore, this journal is published in two versions, namely print and online. The Journal focuses on issues found in the field of Islamic Education, both as material objects and or as formal objects. The Journal kindly invites scientists, scholars, professionals, and researchers in the disciplines of Islamic education in the form of the contribution with articles to be published and disseminated through: the selection mechanism of the article, criticized by reviewer, and the editing process. Abstract

Character education plays a fundamental role in shaping a superior generation in the global era. In Indonesia, systematic efforts to strengthen the character dimension of students are realized through the Merdeka Curriculum. This study analyzes the concept of character education in the book Tarbiyatul Aulad fil Islam by Abdullah Nashih Ulwan and its relevance to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research uses a literature review method, focusing on Ulwan's main text and comparative analysis with modern literature. The findings reveal seven pillars of Ulwan's character education—faith, morality, physical, intellectual, psychological, social, and sexual—forming a holistic framework. These pillars align with the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile in the Merdeka Curriculum. Implementation challenges include limited teacher understanding, resistance in pluralistic school environments, and limited time allocation. Solutions include integrative training for educators, the formulation of universal values, and the optimization of school culture. The study concludes that Ulwan's concept provides a systematic foundation for the development of a strong-charactered generation, relevant to contemporary educational needs.

Abstract

Aqidah Akhlak learning at the elementary school level plays a strategic role in shaping the Islamic character and personality of students from an early age. The learning strategies used by teachers are crucial in determining the effectiveness of instilling values of faith and morality in students. This study aims to analyze the use of learning strategies in the Aqidah Akhlak subject at SDIT Nurul Ilmi Medan Estate. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews with two teachers and the principal, as well as documentation of learning activities. The results show that teachers in this school apply a variety of learning strategies, including interactive lectures, storytelling, group discussions, visual media (videos), and contextual case studies. These strategies are tailored to the characteristics and needs of students and are aligned with the learning objectives of Aqidah Akhlak, namely to shape students who are able to internalize and practice Islamic teachings in daily life. However, teachers still face several challenges, such as differences in student characteristics, limited learning resources, and time constraints. Efforts to overcome these obstacles include individualized approaches to students, adaptive teaching methods, and reflective forums and teacher training provided by the school. This study concludes that effective learning strategies in Aqidah Akhlak must be varied, reflective, and capable of addressing the affective aspects of students, so that value-based education can take place meaningfully.

Abstract

Crackers are a snack product that is high in carbohydrates and low in protein. This study is an experimental study that aims to determine the effect of the addition of katuk leaf puree and rebon shrimp powder on the organoleptic properties of Kareb Crackers and to determine the nutritional content of the best Kareb Crackers which includes the content of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, fiber, calcium, vitamin A, iron, moisture content, and ash content. The data collection technique used observation techniques to find the best results based on organoleptic trait tests conducted by 20 trained panelists. The data analysis used was Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney  follow-up tests to find the best results from the organoleptic properties test of Crackers Kareb. The best results were then chemically tested in the laboratory of the Industrial Research and Consultation Center (BPKI). The best Kareb Crackers results are with the addition  of  15% katuk leaf puree and 7.5% rebon shrimp powder with nutritional content per 100 grams of Kareb Crackers which includes, 72.83 g of carbohydrates, 13.85 g of protein, 8.61 g of fat, 3.06 g of fiber, 168.50 mg of calcium, 88.90 mg of vitamin A, 4.80 mg of iron, 1.32 g of water content, 0.31 g of ash content.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine the types of the language styles used by Taylor Swift in Her iHeartRadio Speech as the Winner of the Innovator Award. This research identifies the most dominant type of language styles used by Taylor Swift in Her iHeartRadio Speech as the Winner of the Innovator Award. This research also aims to determine the theory of social factors according to Janet Holmes (2013) which influences the use of language style. The method used in this thesis is a qualitative method. The research design in this research is content analysis. The data source is video from official Youtube IheartRadio. The dominant type of language style is consultative style. The researcher found that there were 7 of Consultative Style, 5 of Casual Style, 2 of Formal Style, 1 of Intimate Style, and 0 data of Frozen Style. There are some factors that influence the choice of language style, they are participant, setting, topic, and function. Taylor Swift’s speech at the iHeartRadio Awards shows how using different language styles can make communication more effective and this is also useful in education field. The language style that Taylor Swift uses in her speech can be used in the field of education. Using the appropriate language style at the right moment can significantly enhance the effectiveness of communication.

Abstract

This research is a product development study in the form of an animated video based on Powtoon, focusing on basic cooking techniques. The aims of this study are to: 1) identify the development results of the Powtoon-based animated instructional video on basic cooking techniques; 2) determine the feasibility of the Powtoon-based animated video on basic cooking techniques; and 3) assess students' responses to the Powtoon-based animated video on basic cooking techniques. This study employs the 4D development model, limited to the Development stage. Data were collected through material validation sheets, media validation sheets, and student response questionnaires using a Likert scale. The validation sheets were assessed by expert judgment, and the results were calculated using the Aiken's V formula. Based on the data analysis, the material expert validation score was 0.79, the media expert validation score was 0.92, and the student response score was 84.15%. These results indicate that the Powtoon-based animated video on basic cooking techniques is feasible for use.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the 2013 Curriculum and the Independent Curriculum from the perspective of learning evaluation at SDN 180 Prakarsa Nugraha. The method applied in this study is a combined approach, which includes data collection through interviews and direct observation in the field. The results of the study indicate significant differences in assessment methods between the two curricula, where the 2013 Curriculum focuses more on tests and exams, while the Independent Curriculum emphasizes project- based assessments. The average final score of students studying with the Independent Curriculum reached 85, while students following the 2013 Curriculum only got 78. In addition, challenges faced by teachers in implementing assessment have also been identified, such as the high administrative burden in the 2013 Curriculum and the lack of understanding of project assessment in the Independent Curriculum. The results of this study indicate that the Independent Curriculum has a better effect on student learning achievement and encourages their active participation in the learning process. This research is expected to contribute to the advancement of educational policies and more effective teaching methods.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Building in Elementary Schools play a central role in instilling religious values and shaping students character from an early age. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is an innovative learning strategy that encourages students to be active, creative, and contextual in understanding religious material. This study aims to examine the implementation of project-based PAI learning in elementary schools and analyze its impact on students understanding of Islamic values and the development of social attitudes. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results indicate that project-based learning strategies in Islamic Religious Education and Character Building can increase student participation, develop religious attitudes, and strengthen social skills. However, several obstacles remain, such as time constraints, lack of teacher training, suboptimal school support, and the lack of development of student critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of curriculum change from the 2013 curriculum to the Merdeka curriculum which affects various aspects of teacher activities in teaching, especially on teaching motivation. Teachers need quite a long time to adapt to the new curriculum. This study aims to determine the impact of the change from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum on the teaching motivation of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (PAIBP) teachers at SDN 198 Mekar Jaya, Bandung City. Curriculum change is a strategic effort to improve the quality of national education, but in practice it poses various challenges for teachers, especially in terms of adapting to approaches and teaching tools that are different from descriptive methods. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use observation interviews and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that in general, the curriculum change does not significantly reduce the teaching motivation of PAIBP teachers, even encouraging them to be more active in seeking information. However, several obstacles were found, such as lack of training, limited facilities, and a low understanding of the concepts and techniques of the Merdeka Curriculum, especially in the preparation of lesson plans and authentic assessments. The shift to a more flexible and student-centered learning paradigm requires greater teacher competence and creativity. Therefore, ongoing support in the form of training, infrastructure, and access to technology is necessary to ensure optimal implementation of the Independent Curriculum and a positive impact on the learning process.

Abstract

Teacher professionalism is a key factor in improving the quality of education in Indonesia, contributing significantly to the overall progress of national education. This study aims to analyze the role of professional teachers in the development of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SDN 006 Buahbatu. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that teachers at SDN 006 Buahbatu have implemented the principles of the Independent Curriculum, including in developing appropriate teaching materials that are tailored to the context and needs of students. Teachers are also active in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment and implementing various innovative learning methods to increase student participation. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that teacher professionalism has an impact on the success of the Independent Curriculum development in PAI learning.
