Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of concentration and communication skill of student, the lack of use interesting learning media, dand classroom conditions that tend to be boring, so that learning outcomes are not optimal. To overcome this, this research was conducted in the form of classroom action research for three cycle. The research participants consisted 0f 20 students of class III C SDN Antasan Besar 7 Banjarmasin. The date colected werw qualitative and obtained through observation of teacher activities. The results showed that the application of the BANUA Model and the Educational Snakes and Ladders Game was effective. Teacher and student activities increased, as well as the concentration ability, communication skills, and recommended that teachers continue to explore similar innovative learning models to increase student participation and achievement.

Abstract

The application of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) holds great potential for effectively shaping pupils’ character. CTL emphasises the connection between the subject matter and the context of students’ real lives, so that moral values are not merely understood cognitively, but are also internalised and manifested in everyday behaviour. This approach encourages students to actively ask questions, discuss, observe their environment, undertake experience-based tasks, and reflect on PAI values in real life. Research and literature reviews from the past 10 years, including a study by Gusmaneli (UIN Imam Bonjol Padang) on the integration of Islamic values into PAI lesson design through a contextual approach, indicate that CTL is capable of enhancing understanding of moral values, student engagement, and positive behavioural changes in the context of honesty, tolerance, and responsibility. Thus, CTL can serve as a relevant character-based learning strategy to be developed in PAI teaching across various levels of education.

Abstract

As an educator, determining the right learning model can improve the quality of learning interactions in the classroom. This study was conducted on fifth-grade students of SDN Kuin Utara 5 Banjarmasin which aims to evaluate the effect of implementing a combination of Problem-Based Learning, Think Talk Write, and Course Review Horay models on learning activities, critical thinking skills, and mathematics learning outcomes on the topic "Area of Flat Shapes". Data collection was carried out through critical thinking skills assessments, direct observations, and individual and group written tests. The research findings show that the three learning models are effective in increasing student activity, improving critical thinking skills, and academic learning outcomes. PBL helps students develop systematic learning strategies in solving problems, TTW is able to train oral and written communication skills and improve critical thinking abilities, while CRH strengthens collaboration and makes the classroom atmosphere more enjoyable. The success of implementing these strategies is reflected in the achievement of predetermined indicators.

Abstract

Mathematics is a field of study that plays a vital role in daily life and in the world of education. However, in the process of learning mathematics, not all students are able to keep up effectively due to affective factors, one of which is math anxiety. This study aims to analyze the level of math anxiety among Mathematics Education students in the “Selected Topics in Mathematics” course. This study employs a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were 25 students from the Mathematics Education Program at UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of a mathematics anxiety questionnaire comprising 20 statements on a four-point Likert scale. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, and percentage. The results showed that the average mathematics anxiety score of the students was 46.84, which falls into the low category, with a standard deviation of 6.562. The data distribution indicated that 72% of students were in the low category, 24% in the high category, and 4% in the very low category, while 0% of students were in the very high category. Thus, it can be concluded that the level of students’ mathematics anxiety in the Kapita Selekta Mathematics course is classified as low, although there are still some students who experience anxiety in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the main principles of learning from an eucational perspective, which include the principles of demonstration, application, task-centered learning, activation, and integration, as well as their implementation in the learning process. This research employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach through the exploration of various literature sources such as books, journals, and other scholarly references. Data analysis is conducted using content analysis techniques through stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that these five principles are closely interconnected and form a comprehensive and systematic learning framework. The demonstration principle emphasizes the importance of concrete examples in learning; the application principle directs learners to implement knowledge in real-life contexts; the task-centered principle focuses on problem-based learning activities; the activation principle functions to elicit learners’ prior knowledge; and the integration principle connects various learning concepts to everyday life. The implementation of these principles aligns with Merrill’s First Principles of Instruction, which highlight the stages of activation, demonstration, application, and integration in effective learning. Therefore, the application of these principles can enhance the effectiveness, meaningfulness, and overall quality of student-centered learning.

Abstract

Fenomena anak titipan masih menjadi salah satu permasalahan kesejahteraan sosial yang memerlukan perhatian khusus karena berkaitan dengan pemenuhan hak, pengasuhan, dan perlindungan anak. Ketidakmampuan keluarga dalam menjalankan fungsi pengasuhan menyebabkan sebagian anak memperoleh pengasuhan alternatif melalui Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Anak (LKSA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pelayanan sosial terhadap anak titipan, bentuk penanganan yang dilakukan pengurus panti, serta hambatan yang dihadapi dalam pelayanan sosial di LKSA Fajar Harapan Kota Bandung. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian terdiri atas pengurus dan pengasuh yang terlibat langsung dalam pelayanan anak di lembaga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelayanan sosial di LKSA Fajar Harapan meliputi pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar, pendidikan, kesehatan, pembinaan keagamaan, pembinaan karakter, serta pendampingan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penanganan terhadap berbagai permasalahan anak dilakukan melalui pendekatan kekeluargaan, pembinaan agama, pendekatan personal, pengawasan kegiatan harian, dan kerjasama dengan sekolah maupun layanan kesehatan. Namun, pelaksanaan pelayanan masih menghadapi hambatan berupa belum tersedianya pekerja sosial profesional, keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, sistem asesmen dan evaluasi yang belum terstruktur, serta tantangan dalam pembinaan dan pengawasan perilaku remaja. Meskipun demikian, pengurus dan pengasuh terus berupaya memberikan pelayanan terbaik untuk mendukung kesejahteraan dan perkembangan anak. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan evaluasi dan pengembangan praktik pelayanan sosial di LKSA guna meningkatkan kualitas perlindungan dan kesejahteraan anak.
