Abstract

Retail businesses within pesantren environments face unique challenges, particularly in maintaining consistent customer engagement and managing financial records. This community service initiative, conducted by lecturers from STIE Latifah Mubarokiyah (STIELM), aimed to enhance the managerial capacity of retail business units under the Suryalaya Islamic Boarding School by developing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategies and providing technical assistance in financial report preparation. The activity employed a participatory and hands-on learning approach. Thirty participants from pesantren-affiliated retail businesses joined the sessions, which covered CRM principles, customer loyalty programs, and basic bookkeeping. Practical outputs included the formulation of customer service guidelines and structured income-expenditure records. Evaluation results indicated that 87% of participants gained new insights and expressed confidence in applying CRM techniques and financial recording practices. This initiative has laid the groundwork for more structured retail business management in pesantren-based enterprises.

Abstract

This community service initiative addresses the entrepreneurial challenges faced by rural families in Godebag Village, Tasikmalaya Regency. Limited business knowledge, poor marketing strategies, and the informal nature of micro-enterprises have hindered economic growth and sustainability. A team from STIE Latifah Mubarokiyah (STIELM) implemented a program using the IPOO (Input–Process–Output–Outcome) framework to enhance local entrepreneurial and marketing capacities. The program involved 35 participants, comprising housewives, youth, and micro-business owners, and focused on business planning, marketing strategies, and participatory learning. As a result, 20 business plans and marketing tools were produced, while 91% of participants expressed high satisfaction. This outreach contributes to building resilient family economies through practical, community-based business education.

Abstract

The digital era has transformed the way organizations manage their human resources, demanding adaptive skills, digital competencies, and agile systems. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially in rural and semi-urban areas, often struggle to adapt to these rapid changes due to limited knowledge, technology access, and workforce readiness. This community service program aimed to enhance the human resource management (HRM) capacity of MSME actors in Tasikmalaya through digital literacy training, workforce planning, and the introduction of simple HR digital tools. Using the IPOO framework (Input–Process–Output–Outcome), the program was attended by 30 MSME owners and managers and facilitated by faculty members from STIE Latifah Mubarokiyah. Results showed increased understanding of HRM principles, improved ability to manage digital workforces, and enthusiasm to adopt digital tools for employee data and task tracking. This initiative underscores the importance of equipping MSMEs with modern HR skills to remain competitive and sustainable in the digital age.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector contribute significantly to the local economy in Tasikmalaya. However, many culinary entrepreneurs, especially those producing traditional food products in Panumbangan District, face challenges in preparing structured and sustainable business plans. This community engagement program aims to provide technical assistance and training for culinary MSME actors in developing comprehensive business plans tailored to their specific business contexts. Using a participatory approach and the IPOO (Input–Process–Output–Outcome) framework, this program involved needs assessment, training workshops, practical mentoring, and business plan development. The results showed increased awareness, knowledge, and skills among participants in creating and implementing business plans. The outcomes also indicate a positive shift in participants' readiness to apply strategic planning for business growth. This program proves that systematic and context-based assistance can empower local MSMEs and strengthen their sustainability in the regional creative economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of sustainable tourism on the community surrounding Kiara Artha Park, Bandung, from a social, economic, and environmental perspective. The approach used in this study was descriptive qualitative, with data collection methods through direct observation and interviews with eleven visitors and several vendors operating in the park area. The results indicate that the park has a positive impact on social comfort, where visitors feel safe, calm, and have a space to interact and exercise. From an economic perspective, the park's presence has increased the income of small vendors and created new business opportunities. However, several obstacles remain, such as noise from surrounding traffic, facilities that are not accessible to people with disabilities, and a lack of informative signage. This study concludes that Kiara Artha Park reflects the principles of sustainable tourism, although it still needs strengthening in terms of inclusivity and environmental management. Future research is recommended to use a quantitative approach to measure economic impacts more thoroughly and involve more actors in the analysis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of sustainable tourism on the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the community in the Tebing Keraton tourist area, Bandung. As a popular natural tourist destination since 2014, Tebing Keraton has experienced rapid growth due to increased social media exposure. This study used a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with five tourists and one local resident as informants. The results indicate that socially, the local community is perceived as friendly and has a positive attitude towards tourists, creating a harmonious relationship between residents and visitors. From an economic perspective, this tourism has also opened up business opportunities and increased community income, although the distribution is not yet equitable. Meanwhile, from an environmental perspective, some tourists consider the area to be not yet completely clean, but the natural environment is still relatively well preserved. A significant problem arises from the minimal involvement of the local community in tourism management, as expressed by a local community leader, Abah Ase, who feels marginalized despite being the founder of Tebing Keraton. He also highlighted changes in operating hours, which have resulted in a decline in tourist numbers and community income. This research emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government, managers, and the community in realizing sustainable tourism that prioritizes not only economic growth but also environmental preservation and social justice. Participatory and inclusive strategies are needed, including through the role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), to ensure that the benefits of tourism are fully felt by the local community.

Abstract

Sustainable rural infrastructure development plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life, particularly in supporting religious education facilities. This community service program was carried out at Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA) Al-Huda in Amawang Kanan Village with the main objective of enhancing accessibility and environmental comfort through the installation of paving blocks. The method employed was a participatory and collaborative approach based on local needs, actively involving community members in planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results demonstrate that the paving block installation significantly improved the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the TPA environment, especially during the rainy season. Beyond physical improvements, this program also fostered public awareness regarding the importance of environmentally friendly and sustainable infrastructure. The initiative exemplifies how the integration of technical, social, and educational approaches can effectively address local infrastructure issues while strengthening synergy between academia and the community.

Abstract

The carpentry training program in Mudik Village aims to improve the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the community as part of local economic empowerment efforts. The three-day training program utilizes a combination of theory and practice. The first day focused on theoretical material, including an introduction to wood types, equipment usage, measurement techniques, occupational safety principles, and entrepreneurial fundamentals. The second and third days focused on hands-on practice in making simple products, such as bookshelves, covering the measuring, cutting, assembly, and finishing processes. Evaluation results showed significant skill improvements across all aspects, with the greatest improvement in the ability to use modern tools (+64%). Furthermore, participants demonstrated increased awareness of occupational safety and understanding of product marketing strategies. This training demonstrated that the three-day, integrative approach can improve skills while motivating the community to develop carpentry businesses. Future recommendations include further training, business mentoring, and the formation of village business groups to support the program's sustainability.
