Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, fast and efficient access to technology services has become a primary need for users. However, interface complexity and a lack of focus on user needs often hinder the use of digital platforms. This study aims to apply the Design Thinking method to the user interface (UI) design of the Padek.In website, with a primary focus on simplifying access to technology services and improving the user experience. This approach is based on diverse user needs, field observations, literature studies, and benchmarking against similar competitors. The research process follows five main stages of Design Thinking: (1) Empathize to explore user needs and obstacles, (2) Define to formulate the core problem, (3) Ideate to generate innovative design solutions, (4) Prototype to create a UI prototype, and (5) Test through usability testing with end users. The result of this process is a prototype UI for the Padek.In website with a simple and intuitive navigation structure, accompanied by complete design documentation and a usability test report.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a web-based application to support the scheduling and assessment of thesis defenses at Universitas Nurdin Hamzah. The current scheduling process is conducted manually, often resulting in conflicts between supervisors, examiners, rooms, and students. In addition, thesis assessment is still carried out using printed forms, which are prone to recording errors and delays in result compilation. The developed application was designed to address these issues by providing two main modules, namely a thesis scheduling module and a thesis assessment module. The development methodology applied the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a Waterfall approach, covering requirement analysis through system testing. The system was evaluated using black-box testing for functionality validation and a User Acceptance Test (UAT) involving 30 respondents, including lecturers, students, and academic staff. The results showed that 92% of the system’s functions performed as expected, while user satisfaction reached 90%. Furthermore, the application successfully accelerated the scheduling process by up to 60% compared to manual methods. Therefore, this application improves efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in managing thesis defenses.

Abstract

The UMKM product from Mekar Sari Nes Village Batang Hari Regency, sells products produced by UMKM product providers. Sales service is crucial as competition among businesses intensifies. Therefore, the development of an e-commerce sales system to facilitate customer service continues. This research aims to build a web-based e-commerce platform for UMKM products from Mekar Sari Nes Village to overcome traditional marketing constraints such as limited reach, minimal digital promotion, and reliance on direct sales. The research method used is information system development, encompassing needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The processes involved include product data management, order processing, payments, and notifications. The outputs include sales reports, a monitoring dashboard, and transaction history. The results of the research produce an E-commerce website that has tested the functionality of its core features, such as user registration, product management, checkout process, and payments. This platform is ready to be implemented to support market expansion, increase digital promotion, and reduce dependence on direct sales for UMKM  in Mekar Sari Nes Village.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to create a system at the Mestong District Office of Muaro Jambi Regency to make it easier to access or store archival data for incoming and outgoing letters. The author collects data using research methods in the form of field research (Field Research), observation (Observation), interviews (Interview), and documentation (documentation). The results showed that the management of incoming and outgoing mail archive data still uses a manual system, namely by recording the letter data in the agenda book then the letters are placed in a special mail file cabinet without any backup data... The solution proposed by the author is to design and build a website-based system for archiving incoming and outgoing mail. The design of this application is built using the PHP programming language and MySQL DBMS so as to produce the desired website program. The results of this study are expected to be developed by further researchers, because in this study there are still many shortcomings.

Abstract

The Jambi Provincial Culture and Tourism Office, located in Kotabaru District, Jambi City, is the government agency responsible for regulating and implementing governmental matters related to culture and tourism in Jambi Province. The promotion of regional natural tourism still faces several challenges. This hinders the ability to obtain accurate information about tourist profiles and preferences for local tourism destinations. To minimize these obstacles in nature tourism promotion, a Unity application tool related to tourism and culinary needs was developed. This information application is expected to address the challenges faced by the Jambi Provincial Culture and Tourism Office. It allows tourists from various regions to more easily search for tourist attractions and culinary delights, providing deeper insight into the descriptions provided in the application. Furthermore, its integration with the C# programming language provides greater flexibility in modifying and developing analyses tailored to specific needs. The expected results of this application are that it will benefit the Jambi Provincial Culture and Tourism Office.

Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to shift from manual administrative systems to web-based systems. Until now, the registration of new students and financial record-keeping at the pesantren have often faced obstacles because they were still carried out manually, making them prone to delays, document accumulation, and data entry errors.This study develops a web-based registration and financial management application using the Agile method, with Laravel, MySQL, and black box testing. The application provides features for online new student registration, financial information management, and pesantren promotional media.The research results show that the application is capable of accelerating the registration process, reducing data errors, improving financial management efficiency, and strengthening transparency and public trust in the pesantren

Abstract

MSMEs play an important role in the Indonesian economy because they are able to absorb labor, strengthen the real sector, and market local products to a wider market. One example is the Pempek Madam MSME in Jambi, which is engaged in the production and sale of pempek as a regional specialty food. This study aims to develop a web-based cashier information system framework that not only improves transaction management efficiency at Pempek Madam but can also be adapted for other MSMEs with similar business models. The development was carried out using the Waterfall method, starting from needs analysis to implementation, with the user interface design created using Figma. The design includes a login page, main menu, product categories, transaction process, payment methods, sales reports, and profile settings. System testing was conducted through black box testing and User Acceptance Test (UAT) to ensure functionality and ease of use. The test results showed that all features worked well, the interface was easy to understand, and the workflow was in line with user expectations. This framework is considered capable of improving the operational efficiency of MSMEs and is ready to be replicated for various similar types of businesses, supporting the acceleration of MSME digitalization in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Betel nut is a plantation commodity with significant economic potential, particularly as an export product. However, marketing activities among farmers and traders still face obstacles, such as limited access to price information, less than optimal promotions, and a narrow distribution network. This study aims to design and develop a web-based betel nut marketing information system that can support the promotion and transaction process. The system development method used refers to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, namely the waterfall, starting from user needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. This system was created using the PHP programming language with a MySQL database, and is equipped with key features such as product data management, price recording, information publication and communication media between farmers and traders, as well as a payment gateway feature. Testing results using the black box testing approach showed that the system can function according to the design. With this information system, it is expected that betel nut marketing will be more structured, market access will be wider, and farmers and traders will obtain a more competitive selling price.

Abstract

Vendor selection at PT. Manufaktur Digital Jaya is still prone to subjectivity and bias that focuses on price, which risks causing production bottlenecks and quality decline. This decision is a complex Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem and requires an objective and structured assessment. This research aims to design a Decision Support System (DSS) to determine the best vendor at PT. Manufaktur Digital Jaya, using a combination of the Analytical Hierarchy Process  (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods. The AHP analysis was validated using Expert Choice software and the TOPSIS calculations were performed with Microsoft Excel. The AHP method is used to determine the priority weights of the assessment criteria, while TOPSIS is used to rank the vendor alternatives based on their closeness to the ideal solution. Five main criteria were established, covering Product Quality (C1), Unit Price (C2), Delivery Accuracy (C3), Service Capacity (C4), and Reputation (C5). The results of the AHP analysis show that Product Quality (C1) and Service Capacity (C4) are the criteria with the highest weights, reflecting the company's strategic priority on quality and long-term support.

Abstract

The conventional letter archiving system still employed by government institutions such as the Financial Center of the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) Selong faces several limitations, including document loss risks, slow retrieval processes, and restricted physical storage capacity. To address these issues, this study developed a web-based letter archiving system using the Waterfall development model. The system was designed to replace manual processes with a more structured, accurate, and efficient digital workflow. Key features of the system include account registration, login authentication, document management, category and file management, user administration, and theme customization. System testing demonstrated that all eight core features operated successfully. Performance evaluation using GTmetrix achieved a 90% performance score with an average page load time of 2.2 seconds. Security testing confirmed that the system is free from malware and blacklist threats, with only two medium-level risks identified out of forty test cases. The results indicate that the proposed system effectively enhances administrative efficiency and provides a reliable digital archiving solution to support correspondence management within government institutions.
