Abstract

In this study, a woman who strives to uphold her honor and emphasizes feminism is the main subject and is shown over the course of four acts. The acts are titled "Robbery" in the first act, "The Journey" in the second, "The Confession" in the third, and "The Birth" in the fourth. The study, which is classified as a case study, employs an interpersonal approach and the theory proposed by Kress and Van Leeuwen (2006) in a qualitative descriptive technique. The results demonstrate that the visual modes complement one another, according to the researcher's findings and debate. Using an interpersonal perspective, Kress and Leeuwen's (2006) idea of drawing images can be used to describe Marlina's circumstance. The researchers also discovers that the selection and use of these modes results in a piece of art that is visually striking and successfully conveys to the viewer the content contained in the movie. This is a result of their easy-to-understand design for the broader public. According to Kress and Leeuwen's hypothesis, the following elements are dialyzed: shot, angle, position, eye contact, color meaning, multimodal, and salience.

Abstract

The research aims to design and develop a German vocabulary learning application that can facilitate the learning process forstudents. The methodology used is Research and Development (R&D) by adopting the ADDIE research model, which includes thestages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data collected comprises both qualitative andquantitative data through the distribution of questionnaires to the research subjects, which include 11th-grade languagestudents at SMAN 6 Malang, as well as material experts, media experts, and observers. The validation of the Deutsch Bildereducational vocabulary game application was conducted by media and material experts, resulting in an "A" rating, indicating theapplication's validity and feasibility as a supplementary medium for A1-level German language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and results of the application of the Busuu-App in improving the listening ability of class XI Language students of SMAN 7 Wajo. This research is a class action research consisting of 2 cycles, each of which contains planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Research data consists of two types of data, namely qualitative data which is a description of the results of implementation and observation results during learning and quantitative data in the form of student listening ability test results presented in percentage form. The average listening score of class XI Language students in the first cycle was 59.28 and increased in second cycle to 75.71. The results of the study showed that the Busuu application can be applied during learning to improve students' listening skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify, describe or depict the problems and needs of teachers in Probolinggo Regency in integrating local Tengger values into learning. A qualitative approach is used to match the descriptive method employed. The results of the questionnaire survey conducted through Google Forms reveal obstacles faced by teachers in Probolinggo Regency. The results show the problems of local wisdom with modernization. The context of local values such as 'pakne' if implemented in learning, because not all connotations of the meaning of local Tengger values will have a positive impact on learning,

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to increase learners' vocabulary mastery in German class and (2)) to increase learners' participation in class from Class XI MIPA 5 of SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu through Duolingo Aplication. In this study, a classroom action research (CAR). The subjects of the study are 34 learners from class XI MIPA 5 at SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu. The data will be collected qualitatively and analyzed descriptively. This research is divided into two cycles. Each action consists of four stages: planning, implementation of the action, and observation and reflection phase. The indicators of success are (1) the success of the product (the grade point average) and (2) the success of the process (the participation of the learners). The result of this research shows that the Duolingo application (1) can increase learners' vocabulary. The average vocabulary score increased by 38%, and (2) learner participation in the class increased by 40%.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the basic aspect in using Jugendsprache and to describe the pragmatic equivalence of the utterances in the German-language film series produced by Netflix, “How to Sell Drugs Online (fast)”. This is descriptive qualitative research with conventional content analysis method. The research data were derived by listening, reading, and noting techniques. The results of the study show that the use of Jugendsprache in the film series ist mostly based on two aspects, namely the credibility aspect and the affective-emotional aspect. Both aspects are related to the nature of teenagers whos tend to interact with their fellows. In addition, the results also showed that the equivalence of Jugendsprache utterances has been given an appropriate equivalent by considering pragmatic aspect to coney the intended meaning by the speaker.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore diglossia in the effort to preserve the indigenous language within the Meto language through a sociolinguistic approach. The focus of the research is on diglossia and the preservation of unique words, phrases, language styles, and sacred words in the takanab speech during funeral ceremonies in the multiethnic community of Biboki Anleu. The indigenous language in the Meto language has a rich historical and cultural significance. This is demonstrated by the consistent use of takanab speech at funeral ceremonies. The preservation of the high variety of the indigenous language shows that the Biboki Anleu community continues to maintain the speech, utilizing unique words, phrases, language styles, and sacred words. Although the use of informal or slang language is common in everyday communication, takanab speech is still employed in formal or sacred situations (such as funeral ceremonies). The communication style of the indigenous language within the Meto language also has its own unique features that support social interaction and reinforce cultural identity.

Abstract

This conceptual design aims to present a teaching strategy for geguritan or modern Javanese poetry which contains the meaning, characteristics, types and structure using communicative methods or approaches that prioritize aspects of direct interaction and communication using media or intermediaries of dolanan songs or traditional Javanese songs. suweng, the song has a lot of playing values ​​and teaching values ​​in the form of morals, advice and motivation. so that it is effectively used as a teaching strategy. The teaching strategy of geguritan through communicative methods assisted by the media of dolanan cublak-cublak suweng contains four elements of language skills, namely listening skills, which are obtained from the introduction of geguritan and the media of dolanan songs which affect the cognitive abilities and listening power of students, writing skills obtained from writing the meaning of dolanan songs that affect students' writing procedures, reading skills obtained from reading the results of the meaning of dolanan songs that affect the level of further reading comprehension of students, and speaking skills obtained from group discussions and performances of singing dolanan songs that affect speaking ability and courage of students, this teaching strategy has many benefits and is effectively applied to other students.

Abstract

Indonesia, which is rich in ethnic, cultural, and linguistic diversity, faces significant challenges in preserving its culture amidst the tides of globalization and digitalization. One significant cultural element is children's songs, which serve not only as a source of entertainment but also as an educational tool for teaching cultural values to the younger generation. This research aims to explore the utilization of Madurese children’s songs as a vital cultural heritage in maintaining the preservation of language and cultural values in the face of modern challenges. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection in this research was carried out through observations and interviews. The results of this study indicate that Madurese children’s songs contain moral, social messages, and local wisdom, which help children understand and recognize their cultural identity. Furthermore, the application of digital media and the integration of children's songs into digital platforms are considered effective strategies for maintaining the relevance of local culture. Therefore, this study recommends the need for more integrated efforts to incorporate children's songs into education, leverage social media, and training, to ensure that the values inherent in Madurese children’s songs remain alive and appreciated by future generations.

Abstract

This study aimed to enhance the reading proficiency of seventh-grade students at MTs/SMP through the use of interactive Arabic learning media based on Construct 2. Using a classroom action research approach, the study involved 15 students from Grade 7 at SMP Darul Faqih, with the teacher serving as an observer. The research was conducted in two cycles, with data showing that students' average score in the first cycle was 40, falling below the minimum competency standard (MCS). However, in the second cycle, the average score improved significantly to 80, indicating a substantial increase in reading proficiency. These results highlight that the use of Construct 2-based interactive media effectively supports students' learning, particularly in developing their reading skills in Arabic. Thus, it can be concluded that this media is a valuable tool for enhancing students' Arabic language learning outcomes.
