Damhil: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat
Damhil: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (DJPkm, E-ISSN:2962-2875) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of Chemistry, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. DJPkM provides open access to the principle that research published in this journal is freely available to the public to support the exchange of knowledge globally. DJPkM published two-issue articles per year namely in June and December. DJPkM provides a place for academics, researchers, and practitioners to publish scientific articles. Each text sent to DJPkM editor is reviewed by peer review. Starting from Vol. 1 No. 1 (June 2022), all manuscripts sent to the DJPkM editor are accepted in Bahasa Indonesia or English. The scope of the articles listed in this journal relates to various topics, including (1) Education for Sustainable Development, (2) Community Services, Local Food Security, Nutrition and Public Health, (3) Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, Design, (4) Community Empowerment, Social Access, (5) Student Community Services, and (6) Border Region, Less Developed Region. This journal is available in print and online and highly respects the ethics of publication and avoids all types of plagiarism.

<![CDATA[Village development is one of the duties and responsibilities of higher education which is manifested in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service. Gorontalo Province is an area where most people work as farmers with low incomes. The people of Daenaa Village are corn farmers. Corn production is only sold in the form of raw dry corn materials without going through processing into products of nutritional value with high selling prices. Lack of understanding and not knowing the right technology to process raw corn materials into processed food products that are creative and have economic value. Processing of corn and its waste is aimed at increasing its usefulness and selling value. The implementation of the MBKM KKN Program is a solution to help the community and village government in building sustainable villages or Sustainable Development Goals, creating and increasing community knowledge, and encouraging the realization of independent villages. The method used is the method of training and mentoring, through four stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, the monitoring and evaluation stage, and the reporting stage.]]>

<![CDATA[Potensi sumber daya laut yang melimpah terkadang masih belum dapat memberikan manfaat ekonomi yang optimal untuk peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat pesisir pantai yang bermukim di wilayah perairan Teluk Tomini. Untuk itu diperlukan tidak hanya modal ekonomi dan teknologi tapi juga modal sosial untuk menciptakan kerjasama yang efektif dalam mengoptimalkan dampak ekonomi kekayaan sumber daya laut bagi masyarakat pesisir pantai di Teluk Tomini.Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan kerjasama dari beberapa pihak yang terlibat dalam proses produksi dan pemasaran produk makanan dari bahan hasil tangkapan nelayan di sekitar Desa Huangobotu melalui pengembangan modal sosial dalam bentuk jaringan, norma dan kepercayaan. Adapun metode yang digunakan yakni dengan terlebih dahulu melakukan analisis SWOT untuk mengetahui kekuatan dan kelemahan UMKM selama ini dalam membentuk dan mengembangkan potensi modal sosial yang dimiliki. Hasil dari analisis itu kemudian menjadi materi dalam melaksanakan kegiatan FGD yang diharapkan dapat menjadi ruang percakapan untuk lebih mengoptimalkan potensi modal sosial untuk memperkuat kerjasama dari berbagai pihak dalam mendukung proses produksi dan pemasaran UMKM di Desa Huangobotu.]]>

<![CDATA[Polohungo Village is a village located in Dulupi District, Boalemo Regency. Polohungo Village Owned by the Village Enterprise (BUMDes) which is used as an alternative in developing the village's potential in increasing community income. However, in the management of BUMDes in Polohungo Village it was found that the objectives in establishing the BUMDes had not been fulfilled, because the community's income and contributions did not match the expected goals. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize BUMDes governance in Polohungo Village. Community service activities were carried out in Polohungo Village, Dulupi District, Boalemo for 45 days, starting from October 4th to November 18th 2022. The training was carried out by providing socialization and training on BUMDes governance.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to explain the implementation of numeracy games activities through edutainment at UPT SPF SD Inpres Daya Makassar City, as well as describe the impact of improving students' numeracy skills through edutainment activities in the Batch 7 Teaching Campus program. In this study, a descriptive qualitative method is applied with an interactive analysis model approach to reveal a thorough and systematic understanding of the phenomenon studied through natural data collection. The results of the study showed that edutainment activities carried out by students of the Teaching Campus program Batch 7 proved to be effective in increasing the numeracy of students/I UPT SPF SD Inpres Daya. This is reflected in the increase in student learning motivation, active participation in learning activities and satisfactory learning outcomes. This edutainment activity is a teaching campus student team program formed through work programs carried out in placement schools, including the Edutainment Math Playground. ]]>

<![CDATA[Fish as an important source of animal protein for humans is very easily damaged, so it must be processed immediately for consumption. People generally sell fish in fresh form or in smoked form. This community service activity aims to socialize the potential of developing fish-processed culinary products to improve society's economy. The activity was carried out in Bilungala Village, Bonepantai District, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. This activity uses the counseling method, including the delivery of material by the speakers, followed by discussion sessions and fish processing demonstration. Participants who were PKK women and Posyandu cadres in Bilungala Village were very enthusiastic and grateful for the materials and training provided because they broadened their horizons and knowledge, and increased their motivation to try to make culinary processed fish products independently at their respective homes.]]>

<![CDATA[Microplastics pose a significant threat to both aquatic ecosystems and human well-being. This study endeavors to conduct a community engagement initiative focused on microplastic hazards in Molotabu Regency, with the goal of raising public awareness and fostering sustainable behavior change in plastic waste management. Microplastic pollution has emerged as a concerning issue, posing potential risks to food safety and public health. This research aims to conduct a socialization program on the hazards of microplastic exposure to food safety in the community of Molotabu Village. Using a participatory approach, this socialization program involves various stakeholders, including local communities and students. The socialization activities encompass informative presentations, interactive discussions, educational campaigns, and practical demonstrations to raise awareness about the adverse effects of microplastics on food safety. The results of this community engagement are expected to serve as valuable guidance for authorities and the local community to enhance awareness about the hazards of microplastics and promote sustainable behavior change in plastic waste management.]]>

<![CDATA[Additives as food additives that are intentionally added in small quantities for food quality and are available in natural and synthetic ingredients. Synthetic dyes and sweeteners are widely circulating in the community, synthetic food ingredients are in great demand in terms of taste and attractive color appearance without regard to nutritional and health values. Community empowerment aims to increase understanding and knowledge about harmful synthetic dyes and sweeteners in food in the surrounding environment. Community service activities were carried out in Molotabu Village, Kabila sub-district, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. The method used is socialization including the delivery of material by resource persons and followed by discussion. The participants were PKK mothers in Molotabu village, the outreach activities went well from the beginning to the end of the activity the participants were very enthusiastic, the participants got to know additives and various synthetic dyes and sweeteners that are harmful to health and their negative impacts, the knowledge and insight of the community increased regarding the additives used hazardous to health so that participants are vigilant and selective in choosing and buying food and drinks that indicate synthetic dyes and sweeteners in their surroundings.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia, which is located in an area prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis, requires an increase in disaster literacy, especially in Gorontalo Province. This service aims to improve disaster literacy at SMA Negeri 1 Bone Pantai through socialization and training on the use of disaster information applications. The service method includes socialization, practical training with simulation of emergency situations, as well as pre-test and post-test evaluation of student knowledge. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of disaster types, use of disaster applications, and preparedness in responding to disasters. Assistance by lecturers and integration of the program in the school curriculum as well as the formation of a disaster volunteer group are expected to ensure the sustainability of improving disaster literacy at SMA Negeri 1 Bone Pantai.]]>
