Damhil: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (DJPkm, E-ISSN:2962-2875) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of Chemistry, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. DJPkM provides open access to the principle that research published in this journal is freely available to the public to support the exchange of knowledge globally. DJPkM published two-issue articles per year namely in June and December. DJPkM provides a place for academics, researchers, and practitioners to publish scientific articles. Each text sent to DJPkM editor is reviewed by peer review. Starting from Vol. 1 No. 1 (June 2022), all manuscripts sent to the DJPkM editor are accepted in Bahasa Indonesia or English. The scope of the articles listed in this journal relates to various topics, including (1) Education for Sustainable Development, (2) Community Services, Local Food Security, Nutrition and Public Health, (3) Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, Design, (4) Community Empowerment, Social Access, (5) Student Community Services, and (6) Border Region, Less Developed Region. This journal is available in print and online and highly respects the ethics of publication and avoids all types of plagiarism.

Abstract

Rational drug use is a crucial aspect of medication management that requires a thorough understanding to ensure that treatment regimens are appropriately tailored to meet the individual needs of patients, administered within the correct timeframes, and remain affordable. When drug use is irrational, it can result in serious health consequences such as organ damage, the development of drug resistance, and in severe cases, even death. To address this, it is vital to enhance awareness about the importance of rational drug use and its benefits. In Tok Kassim Village, several health services were provided, including comprehensive blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol checks, as well as interactive discussions and a question-and-answer session with the local residents. These activities revealed that the average villager uses medication to manage cholesterol levels, hypertension, and blood sugar. The interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions were particularly effective and smooth because the villagers demonstrated a good understanding of the principles of rational drug use, highlighting the positive impact of the educational efforts in reinforcing the significance of proper medication management.

Abstract

One way to improve the quality of education in the 5.0 era and in accordance with the demands of the current Indonesian curriculum is merdeka curriculum. Teachers are required to have professional competencies, including the ability to innovate in learning media and develop them. The development of learning media in the form of interactive learning media is very important in order to increase interest in learning, the learning process and learning outcomes and not deviate from the competencies to be achieved. The development of today's increasingly sophisticated technology has resulted in a change in the paradigm of teaching and learning methods, teachers as educators are required to be able to develop all potential. Teachers are asked to continue to innovate in developing AI-based interactive learning media to help the learning process to be effective and interesting that is in accordance with the characteristics of students at school. The results of observations at SMP Negeri 31 Padang, the use of interactive learning media is still lacking. Teachers do not have experience and special competencies in developing innovative learning media. Therefore, training was held on making Interactive Learning Media in the Merdeka Curriculum Era Using Canva AI for Teachers of SMP Negeri 31 Padang. The implementation of this community service has had a positive impact on improving teacher skills in developing learning videos and is an important step in adapting technology. The use of technology makes learning more dynamic and effective, creating a learning environment that allows for deeper exploration, interaction and understanding for students.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan peserta didik bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kelancaran membaca Al-Qur'an agar menjadi peserta didik yang baik yaitu meningkatkan kelancaran membaca Al-Qur'an agar mampu membaca Al-Qur'an dengan benar dan sesuai kaidah membaca Al-Qur'an. Membaca Al-Qur'an dengan benar dan sesuai kaidah membaca Al-Qur'an merupakan hal paling mendasar yang harus dikuasai oleh peserta didik dalam suatu lembaga pendidikan. Maka dari itu, strategi dan metode membaca harus diperhatikan agar hasilnya sesuai dengan tujuan membaca Al-Qur'an yaitu bernilai ibadah. Peserta didik TPQ jenjang SMP merupakan salah satu wadah alternatif untuk memberi contoh kepada peserta didik lainnya agar menjadi pembentuk generasi peserta didik yang baik yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat. Dengan memberikan contoh membaca Al-Qur'an dengan tartil, lancar, baik dan benar. sehingga dapat menjadi panutan bagi generasi peserta didik lainnya.

Abstract

The cheerful gymnastics activity held at PPDK Changlun, Traditional Village, is a program designed to improve the gross motor skills of children with special needs. Through a series of fun and easy-to-follow movements, this program aims to help children develop body coordination, balance and muscle strength. This cheerful exercise is carried out with a positive and inclusive approach, accommodating the special needs of each child. A cheerful and enthusiastic atmosphere makes children feel comfortable and motivated to participate actively. The results show high enthusiasm from the children, which can be seen from their enthusiasm in following every movement and their enthusiasm for interacting with their friends. This program has proven effective in motivating children to move, learn and build self-confidence. Cheerful gymnastics at PPDK Changlun is a fun place for children with special needs to develop their motor skills, improve physical and mental well-being, and build positive social relationships. It is hoped that this program can become an example for similar programs in other places, and will continue to be developed to achieve more optimal results.

Abstract

The advancement of technology and internet development has changed the way humans communicate, express themselves, do business, and even change the realm of education. Besides its benefits, the internet can have a negative impact like a double-edged knife not only on activities, but also on mental health. Generation z people who were born in 1997-2012 are the generation with the highest level of mental health issues, and currently some are undergraduate students. This service aims to raise awareness of the impact of the internet, and control themselves not to be trapped in dependence on AI and social media on students. Participants in this socialisation were 23 undergraduate students. The method used was socialisation with pre-test and post-test evaluation of students' knowledge. The results of the service showed that the increase in student understanding was moderate, because students already knew theoretically before the socialisation. However, the results of the socialisation effectiveness test showed that it was still less effective, where students already understood the impact from before the socialisation, but not with the use of appropriate AI.

Abstract

Program Kampus Mengajar merupakan inisiatif dari pemerintah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di berbagai sekolah dasar di Indonesia, termasuk SDN 109 Inpres Lekoala. Program ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa melalui keterlibatan langsung mahasiswa dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar di sekolah. Dalam implementasinya di SDN 109 Inpres Lekoala, program ini melibatkan mahasiswa dari berbagai perguruan tinggi yang ditempatkan di sekolah tersebut selama beberapa bulan. Mereka bekerja sama dengan guru setempat untuk merancang dan melaksanakan metode pengajaran yang inovatif dan interaktif. Selain itu, program ini juga berhasil meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan keterampilan mengajar guru. Partisipasi aktif mahasiswa dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler juga memberikan dampak positif pada lingkungan sekolah secara keseluruhan. Program Kampus Mengajar memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam peningkatan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi di SDN 109 Inpres Lekoala. Program ini tidak hanya memberikan manfaat akademis bagi siswa, tetapi juga memperkaya pengalaman mengajar bagi mahasiswa dan meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran di sekolah dasar. Abstract

Usaha teknik ecoprint dianggap memiliki peluang besar untuk berkembang, terutama di wilayah pedesaan, karena memiliki potensi alam yang melimpah dengan pepohonan yang lebat, tumbuhan yang subur, dan beragam jenis dedaunan yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk membuat produk ecoprint. Kegiatan  pembuatan ecoprint di  Indonesia  sudah  banyak  dilakukan oleh pecinta ecoprint, namun belum banyak dikenal oleh masyarakat umum. Di Provinsi Gorontalo sendiri, telah ada beberapa  usaha fashion lokal yang memproduksi produk ecoprint melalui pemesanan oleh konsumen terlebih dahulu, namun hal ini masih tidak familiar bagi masyarakat padahal bisa menjadi salah satu sumber penghasilan dalam bidang ekonomi kreatif, tidak terkecuali masyarakat di Dusun Pahu Desa Bontula, Kecamatan Asparaga Kabupaten Gorontalo. Kegiatan Pendampingan Pembuatan Ecoprint pada Kelompok Perempuan untuk Pengembangan Produk Fashion  bagi masyarakat Dusun Pahu, Desa Bontula, Kecamatan Asparaga Kabupaten Gorontalo ini penting untuk dilakukan sebagai usaha dalam menambah pengetahuan serta keterampilan masyarakat untuk mengembangkan hobi dan memperoleh tambahan penghasilan. Pada pendampingan ini, dipilih teknik pounding karena teknik ini relatif mudah dilakukan, tidak memerlukan alat dan bahan yang mahal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan secara tatap muka. Peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan berjumlah 14 orang yang merupakan kelompok wanita Dusun Pahu. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 25 Mei 2024 bertempat di Dusun Pahu, Desa Bontula, Kecamatan Asparaga, Kabupaten Gorontalo. Kegiatan ini melalui beberapa tahapan pelaksanaan, mulai dari persiapan, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi yang melibatkan narasumber yang sudah expert di bidang pembuatan ecoprint.

Abstract

Building a Strong Financial Foundation: Results of Financial Literacy Socialization for Students in Banjarmasin. Financial literacy is an important foundation for supporting economic stability in Indonesia. This community service aims to improve financial literacy among students in Banjarmasin City. The methods used include initial observation, socialization through presentation and demonstration, and evaluation of results using pre-test and post-test to measure the level of financial literacy of participants. The evaluation results showed an average effectiveness of 12% increase in participants' understanding of financial literacy which includes financial management, Investment, Capital Markets: Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, Dangers of Illegal Online Loans and Online Gambling. This activity is expected to motivate educated people to share with their peers, friends, and family about financial literacy, and hopefully, the general public can achieve better financial decision-making skills, particularly in Banjarmasin.

Abstract

The Community Service (PKM) activity carried out in Banjarwaru Village aims to empower the community through structured and effective waste management. The partner in this program, namely BUMDes "Banjarwaru Sejahtera," is at the forefront of efforts to realize village economic independence by utilizing waste as one of the economic resources. This activity was initiated with the background of problems faced by the community, especially the low awareness of waste management which results in the accumulation of waste in the surrounding environment which has a negative impact on health and environmental aesthetics. Another problem found is the lack of facilities and infrastructure for waste management. To overcome this, the PKM program that is being run carries various solutions designed according to the needs and potential in Banjarwaru Village. The solutions implemented in this program include education and counseling to increase public awareness of the importance of waste management. This educational activity is carried out through counseling and campaigns that directly involve the village community. The PKM team of Cilacap State Polytechnic also provided additional trash bins at strategic points so that people can easily dispose of trash according to its type. With the implementation of these solutions, the main target to be achieved is to increase public awareness of the importance of waste management and the formation of a more structured waste management system. Through education and provision of facilities, it is hoped that the community can consistently separate waste and actively participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the village environment.

Abstract

The Jambi Seberang Malay dialect is on the verge of extinction due to a decrease in its usage, especially among the younger generation. Contributing factors to this decline include globalization, changing demographics, and a lack of resources. To counteract this, the Jambi Provincial Language Office has developed an e-book dictionary, but its usability is limited. To improve accessibility, a research team from Jambi University developed a mobile app. This community service project aimed to promote the dialect by integrating it into elementary school curricula, using the mobile app as a fun and easy-to-use learning tool. A workshop held at SDN 03 Olak Kemang on September 30, 2024, resulted in increased understanding of the dialect among both teachers and students.
