Abstract

Student learning outcomes are low so that innovation is needed in English learning to improve the quality and meaning of the learning process. This study aims to improve the English learning outcomes of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 6 Majene by implementing ELMA (English Mading) media based on sticky notes. The research method used is classroom action research. Taggart which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include tests and documentation. The results of the study showed that the application of ELMA media was able to increase student active participation and understanding of the material. Learning completeness in cycle I showed less than optimal results, namely 50% in the pretest and posttest of students who still needed guidance, but in cycle II there was a significant increase, with more students reaching the 'good' and 'very good' categories with the percentage still needing guidance decreasing to 37.5%. Thus, the use of ELMA media has proven improving students' English learning outcomes as a whole.

Abstract

This research is a type of quantitative research that aims to determine whether or not there is a correlation between learning motivation and learning outcomes of Arabic language education study program students in nahwu courses. Data collection techniques through observation and distribution of questionnaire statements to 23 samples. The sampling technique used a random sample technique, with a population of 6th semester Arabic language education students. The results showed that student learning motivation in nahwu courses was categorized as high with an average value of 82.9, as well as student learning outcomes with an average value of 84.2. By using the product moment correlation formula, it can be concluded that there is no strong correlation between learning motivation and learning outcomes of Arabic language education study program students in nahwu courses, because the table correlation coefficient is greater than the calculated correlation coefficient (rtabel≥ rcount = 0.433≥ 0.133), with a coefficient of determination of 0.02, meaning that learning motivation contributes 2% to student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and explain the origins and evolution of the Arabic language from a historical and academic perspective, as well as to analyze its contribution in Indonesia from the time Islam entered the country until the digital age. In addition, this study seeks to evaluate the challenges and opportunities in learning Arabic today, as well as to describe its contribution in the fields of education and knowledge. Through this study, it is hoped that the importance of the Arabic language will be evident, not only in a religious context but also in academic aspects and on the global stage. This research uses a qualitative method, a structured and systematic research method that aims to investigate, select, evaluate, and integrate relevant literature from various sources. This research also uses a library research approach that focuses on collecting and analyzing data from various literature sources, such as books, scientific journals, articles, official documents, and other relevant written sources. The analysis results show the history and development of the Arabic language and its influence on education, science, and the digital age. Historically, there are two views on the origin of the Arabic language: as the language used by Prophet Adam and as part of the Semitic language family. In Indonesia, the presence of the Arabic language began to increase with the arrival of Islam, then declined during the colonial period, and revived after Indonesia gained independence. In the digital age, Arabic faces various challenges and new opportunities through the use of technology for learning. In addition to its role as a religious language, Arabic also plays an important role in academia and scientific development, and contributes to the formation of a generation capable of competing globally.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between fa'il rules in Arabic grammar and the formation of the morals of a Muslim. So far, learning Arabic rules tends to be technical-linguistic, without linking grammatical structures to the value of character education and Islamic spirituality. In fact, the fa'il element as the actor in a verbal sentence reflects the concept of personal responsibility for an action, as emphasized in Islamic teachings, especially in QS. Az-Zalzalah verses 7-8. This research applies a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature study of classical nahwu books, Qur'anic verses, hadith, and contemporary Islamic education literature. The results show that understanding the fa'il rule not only improves the ability of language structure, but also fosters ethical awareness in students regarding every action has a perpetrator who will be held accountable. The integration between linguistic understanding and value education produces an Arabic learning model that is not only oriented to grammatical aspects, but also supports character building. In the context of Islamic education, the teacher acts as a value facilitator by linking the fa'il element in the sentence with individual responsibility in real life. Therefore, the structure of Arabic, especially the fa'il element, can be a strategic instrument in moral education. This finding shows the importance of an integrative approach in learning Arabic in order to form moral people who are not only good at language, but also aware of their spiritual and social responsibilities as fa'il al-hayah (actors in life).

Abstract

The Revitalization of Maghrib Reading through the Community Service Program (KKN) at UIN Sumatera Utara is a strategic effort to reinforce religious practices that serve as a medium for nurturing Islamic character in children. This study aims to develop and optimize the implementation of Maghrib Reading in the IX Sido Mukti Baru area, Langkat Regency, involving KKN students as implementing partners. The background of this research is based on the decline in children's participation in Maghrib Reading activities due to the influence of technological developments and changes in community lifestyle patterns. The research methodology uses a qualitative descriptive approach with participatory observation, interviews, focused group discussions (FGD), and documentation techniques. Data analysis is conducted through stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion verification. The research results indicate a significant increase in children's participation and the quality of Maghrib Mengaji implementation after the KKN program was carried out. This activity not only strengthens the skills of reading the Qur'an but also fosters Islamic values in children such as discipline, responsibility, politeness, and togetherness. These findings provide important insights into the role of students in supporting religious revitalization and also demonstrate the positive contributions of the KKN program to community development. This study is expected to serve as a model for other mosques in revitalizing community-based religious activities through collaboration with higher education institutions.

Abstract

The "Festival Generasi Emas" held in Nagori Bah Birong Ulu Manriah is a community-based character education initiative designed to address the challenges of character development in children in the digital era. This activity combines elements of entertainment, education, local culture, and religious values ​​through various competitions such as the call to prayer (adhan), memorization of short surahs (suras), coloring, and traditional games. The goal is to instill values ​​such as self-confidence, responsibility, cooperation, tolerance, and discipline naturally through enjoyable, hands-on experiences. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the activity show, first, a significant positive impact on children's character development, such as increased empathy, social interaction, and enthusiasm for learning. Second, the festival also reduces dependence on gadgets and builds children's self-confidence. Third, this activity proves that character education can be carried out effectively through a creative, participatory, and local culture-based approach.

Abstract

One of the programs of the Community Service Program (KKN) in Tanjung Putus Village focuses on processing used cooking oil as a form of circular economy. This activity aims to reduce environmental pollution while increasing the economic value of the community through training in making environmentally friendly soap. The research method used is PAR (Participatory Action Research) with several stages, namely 1. problem identification stage (planning), 2. action planning stage, 3. implementation stage (action), 4. observation stage. The results of the activity show that the soap produced has a solid physical quality, good washing power, and a pH range of 8–9, which is safe for everyday use. The enthusiasm of the community, especially housewives, was evident from their active participation in the training and the formation of small groups to manage used cooking oil. The tangible impacts of this program include reduced environmental pollution, improved skills, and new business opportunities for local villagers. Thus, processing used cooking oil into soap not only solves the problem of household waste but also serves as a model for sustainable community empowerment based on a circular economy.

Abstract

The real work study is a form of student service to the environment and society in order to apply the principles of the tri darma of higher education, namely education, research and community service. Therefore, students carry out KKN in Jaharun B village for 30 days. The implementation of KKN in Jaharun B Village aims to empower the community and develop human resource capacity in the field of education, which is compiled and implemented in several work programs. This article discusses the contribution of North Sumatra State Islamic University students in order to improve the quality of education in Jaharun B Village. There are several work programs carried out by KKN participants, namely Maghrib Mengaji, Tutoring, Teaching in schools, Anti-bullying Socialization and digital literacy and other work programs. This article is a qualitative article with data collection methods, namely interviews and observational studies. The results showed that there was an increase in education in Jaharun B Village which was marked by increased motivation and learning outcomes for village children.
