Abstract

The banking industry has experienced ups and downs for decades. Declining economic activity, inflation and interest rate changes cause banks to selectively shift non performing loan surge (NPL). High NPL is an indicator of failure of the bank in managing the business. In this study aims to analyze the performance of banking NPLs in Indonesia as well as influencing factors (LDR, LAR, Inflation, BI rate, Credits given). In this study, NPL as dependent variable and LDR, LAR, inflation, BI_rate, and credit are given as independent variables. In this study, the classical assumptions are tested heterokedastisitas, multikolinearitas, and autocorrelation to determine the relationship between variables. The results concluded that the performance of banking NPLs in Indonesia in 2012 to 2016 is still well below 5%. But in the year 2016, the performance of NPL Bank Permata bad that is equal to 6.56%. Overall, in 2016 NPLs of banks almost increased except Bank BRI. The effect of the bebas variables on the NPL is sequentially given credit, inflation, LDR, LAR and BI rate. The classical test results also concluded that NPLs with LDR, LAR, inflation, BI rate, and credit provided have a strong correlation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of student learning discipline in supporting the success of the learning process in higher education. Learning discipline is one of the factors that influence student academic quality, such as punctuality in attending lectures, active participation in learning, and responsibility in completing academic assignments. This research uses a qualitative approach with a field research type. The data source for this research is students at STAI Al-Washliyah Barabai. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while the validity of the data is obtained through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that the learning discipline of STAI Al-Washliyah Barabai students, namely: 1) Student attendance discipline is quite good because most are present on time and attend lectures regularly. 2) Discipline in doing assignments is also good because students are able to complete and submit assignments according to lecturers' provisions. 3) Discipline in complying with rules is seen from compliance with academic regulations, dress ethics, and polite behavior during learning. 4) Factors supporting discipline include learning motivation, lecturer support, a conducive campus environment, and clear academic regulations. 5) Factors inhibiting discipline include lateness to lectures, organizational activities, part-time jobs, poor time management, and lack of focus while studying. 6) Efforts to improve discipline are carried out through motivation, lecturer supervision, strict implementation of rules, and instilling a sense of responsibility in lectures.

Abstract

This study investigates how ninth-grade students at the Islamic Junior High School Tahfidz Qur'an in Kota Bima view the tahfidz method as a means to cultivate noble character. Using a qualitative phenomenological design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document review, with purposively selected informants. The results reveal three main dimensions of perception: (1) students view the tahfidz approach as an instrument of spiritual discipline that fosters patience, steadfastness, and intrinsic religious motivation; (2) regular Qur'an memorization practice produces observable changes in daily moral behavior such as more sincere prayers and greater sensitivity to the needs of others; and (3) supportive conditions including a supportive Islamic boarding school environment, teacher guidance, and active parental involvement significantly enhance the program's impact. These findings suggest that, when combined with systematic evaluation and strong collaboration among all stakeholders, the tahfidz method serves as an effective framework for character development at the junior high school level. This study expands the literature on Islamic moral education and provides actionable recommendations for Islamic institutions aiming to optimize similar programs.

Abstract

Praktik manajemen modern saat ini berkembang pesat namun cenderung sekuler karena berorientasi pada efisiensi dan target kuantitatif semata, sehingga memicu krisis moral serta dilema tata kelola pada lembaga pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sintesis konseptual antara prinsip manajemen kontemporer, seperti Total Quality Management (TQM) dan Lean Management, dengan nilai-nilai profetik dalam hadis, sekaligus merumuskan strategi penguatannya agar menjadi budaya kerja yang berkelanjutan di lembaga formal. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi kepustakaan untuk mensintesis teori manajerial Barat dengan teks-teks hadis secara dialektis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep continuous improvement dalam TQM selaras dengan nilai ihsan dan itqan (profesionalisme), sedangkan prinsip efisiensi dalam Lean Management sejalan dengan larangan israf (pemborosan). Implementasi praktisnya membentuk manajemen berbasis tauhid dengan fungsi perencanaan berdimensi niyyah, pengorganisasian berbasis meritokrasi ('adl), kepemimpinan yang melayani (servant leadership), serta manajemen aset yang transparan guna memitigasi gharar. Strategi keberlanjutan paradigma ini memerlukan internalisasi melalui keteladanan (uswah hasanah), penyusunan Key Performance Indicator (KPI) berbasis keberkahan, dan pemanfaatan teknologi digital yang beretika menggunakan prinsip tabayyun. Kesimpulannya, integrasi ini merupakan keniscayaan epistemologis yang menggeser tata kelola mekanistik menjadi humanistik-transendental, sehingga lembaga pendidikan Islam mampu bersaing secara global tanpa kehilangan identitas moral dan spiritualnya.

Abstract

  Among university students, the phenomena of loneliness and smartphone addiction have become increasingly prevalent issues. Students are in a transitional stage toward adulthood, where they face various academic demands, social adjustment processes, and separation from their families and home environments. These conditions often lead to feelings of insecurity or isolation, especially among freshmen and students who live away from home. As a coping strategy, many students utilize smartphones as a means of entertainment, communication, and social interaction through social media, online games, and instant messaging applications. This study employed a quantitative method with a purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 95 psychology students from Universitas 17 Agustus 1945. The measurement instruments used in this study were a Likert scale of smartphone addiction developed by Ghaida (2019), which adapts the Smartphone Addiction Scale: Development and Validation of a Short Version for Adolescents by Kwon et al. (2013), and a loneliness scale developed by Schermer & Martin (2019). Data analysis techniques included assumption testing and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 29.0 for Windows. The results showed that loneliness is significantly associated with smartphone addiction, indicating a positive relationship between the two variables. Thus, the higher the level of loneliness experienced by students of Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Samarinda, the higher the tendency toward smartphone addiction (r = 0.214; p = 0.043). However, the strength of this relationship is considered low, with a coefficient of determination of 0.046, meaning that loneliness contributes only 4.6% to smartphone addiction.

Abstract

This study discusses the concept of social justice from an Islamic perspective through M. Quraish Shihab's interpretation of QS. An-Nisa verse 135 in Tafsir Al-Misbah and relates it to John Rawls's theory of social justice. The background of this study is the phenomenon of social injustice that is still rife, such as corruption, nepotism, discrimination, and economic inequality, which emphasizes the importance of discussing justice in both philosophy and religion. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type. The method used is This study uses a thematic analysis method that will be used to examine QS. An-Nisa verse 135 in Tafsir Al-Misbah and relate it to John Rawls's theory of social justice. The data collection technique in this study is carried out through documentation studies or library research. The results of the study show a meeting point between the two, namely an emphasis on objective justice, equal rights, and protection for weak groups. However, there are also fundamental differences: Quraish Shihab positions justice as a divine command with spiritual value, while Rawls bases it on rational agreement in a pluralistic society. The relevance of these two views makes a significant contribution to building a more just society in the legal, social, economic, and leadership fields.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas peran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam membangun dialog, toleransi, dan kerukunan antar umat beragama di Indonesia. Indonesia adalah negara dengan populasi yang beragam secara agama, dan keragaman ini memerlukan upaya serius dalam membangun hubungan harmonis antarumat beragama. Meskipun zaman sekarang didominasi oleh multikulturalisme dan pluralisme, tingginya pluralitas di Indonesia juga membuka kemungkinan terjadinya konflik antara umat beragama. Konflik tersebut dapat berdampak luas, termasuk kerusuhan sosial, gejolak multikultural, dan permusuhan berbasis ras, etnis, dan agama. Artikel ini menekankan pentingnya memperkuat pemahaman dan toleransi antaragama, serta mempromosikan dialog yang saling menghargai. Dialog dianggap sebagai jembatan untuk mencegah konflik antarumat beragama. Pendidikan Islam memiliki peran penting dalam membangun kerukunan umat beragama melalui peningkatan semangat solidaritas, pluralisme, dan nasionalisme. Penulis juga menggarisbawahi pentingnya karakteristik PAI yang mencakup tidak hanya pemahaman ajaran Islam, tetapi juga penerapan ajaran tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Artikel ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan mengumpulkan data dari buku-buku sebagai sumber utama. Analisis data tertulis dilakukan untuk menjawab masalah penelitian yang diangkat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dialog, toleransi, dan kerukunan antarumat beragama adalah elemen penting dalam membangun hubungan harmonis di Indonesia. Pendidikan agama Islam memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam membentuk karakter peserta didik, memupuk keragaman, dan mendorong sikap toleransi terhadap agama lain.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the concept of tauhid in the Islamic perspective as a foundation for the development of science, analyze the relationship between revelation, reason, and empirical experience in the tauhid paradigm towards the development of science, identify the factors causing the dichotomy between science and tauhid values in the development of modern science, and describe the implementation of tauhid values in the development of science and the practical life of Muslims in the modern era. The method used is library research with a descriptive-analytical approach to literature related to tauhid and Islamic epistemology. The results show that tauhid is the main foundation in the development of Islamic science because it integrates revelation, reason, and empirical experience in a balanced manner. Tauhid is not only theological but also becomes a philosophical, epistemological, and axiological foundation in building holistic knowledge. The thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas emphasizes the concept of ta'dib, while Ismail Raji al-Faruqi affirms the Islamization of science to eliminate the dichotomy between science and religion.

Abstract

The science of qirā’āt constitutes a significant discipline within the study of Ulum al-Qur’an, focusing on the variant modes of Qur’anic recitation that have been authentically transmitted (mutawātir) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The existence of qirā’āt demonstrates that the preservation of the Qur’an encompasses not only its written form but also its oral dimension, which has been meticulously maintained through continuous chains of transmission (sanad). Within the classical Islamic scholarly tradition, qirā’āt is understood as part of the divine facilitation (taysīr) granted to the Muslim community, as reflected in the prophetic tradition concerning the revelation of the Qur’an in seven modes (sab‘atu ahruf) (al-Bukhari and Muslim). However, in the contemporary context, the understanding of qirā’āt among Muslim generations faces a range of complex challenges. Current trends indicate a narrowing of comprehension, where the majority of Muslims are familiar only with a single transmission, namely the narration of Ḥafṣ ‘an ‘Āṣim, without adequate awareness of other equally valid canonical recitations (az-Zarqānī, Manāhil al-‘Irfān). This condition is further exacerbated by the influence of digital media, which often simplifies Qur’anic learning, as well as the insufficient integration of qirā’āt studies within Islamic educational systems. The findings reveal that the primary issues lie in the low level of qirā’āt literacy, the dominance of a single recitational tradition in educational practice, and the lack of methodological understanding regarding the principles and validity of qirā’āt. Furthermore, technological developments, when not accompanied by proper scholarly guidance, contribute to the persistence of misconceptions about the diversity of Qur’anic recitation. Therefore, revitalization efforts are necessary through strengthening educational curricula, developing adaptive teaching methods, and utilizing technology responsibly to enable contemporary generations to comprehend qirā’āt comprehensively as an integral aspect of the Qur’an’s authenticity.

Abstract

This study examines the characteristics of Sufi exegesis (tafsir sufi) as one of the approaches in interpreting the Qur’an that emphasizes inner (esoteric) meanings alongside the outward (exoteric) text. The problem addressed in this research is how Sufi interpretation develops, what sources and methods it employs, and how its position is understood within the broader tradition of Qur’anic exegesis. The research questions include: (1) how did Sufi tafsir emerge and develop historically, (2) what are the primary sources and methodological approaches used in Sufi interpretation, and (3) who are the major figures and what are their contributions to this field. This study uses a qualitative library research method by analyzing classical and modern literature related to Sufi tafsir. The findings indicate that Sufi exegesis originated as a response to excessive worldly orientation and aims to revive spiritual values through the purification of the soul. Its sources include the Qur’an, Hadith, teachings of earlier Sufis, and spiritual experiences such as kashf and ilham. Methodologically, it integrates bayani, burhani, and especially ‘irfani approaches, with emphasis on symbolic interpretation (isyari). Furthermore, Sufi tafsir is divided into nazari (philosophical) and isyari (practical-spiritual) forms. Despite criticism regarding subjectivity, Sufi exegesis contributes significantly by enriching the understanding of the Qur’an with deeper spiritual insights while maintaining harmony with its outward meanings.
