Abstract

Adolescent nutritional status can be influenced by various factors, one of which is body image. Body image is a person's attitude about feeling satisfied or dissatisfied with his body, resulting in a negative or positive assessment of himself. Body image can occur due to the perception of a person or adolescent who tends to judge his body size larger than the actual size. the actions taken by adolescents often cause harm to themselves such as actions in losing weight by means of unhealthy diets and reducing the portion of food excessively so that it will affect their nutritional status. Based on the results of Riskesdas 2023, it shows that the prevalence of nutritional status of adolescents in Indonesia aged 16-18 years is 1.4% very thin, 6.7% thin, 78.3% normal 9.5% fat and 4.0% obese. This study aims to see the description of body image and nutritional status in adolescents at SMAN 2 Jambi City. This study uses descriptive research methods, the total population in this study was 36 students in class XI, the sample in this study amounted to 36 students, the sampling technique used total sampling. Body image perception was measured using the BSQ questionnaire while nutritional status was measured using digital scales and microtoise which was then calculated using the IMT / U formula. Data analysis was carried out univariately to present the characteristics of body image variables and nutritional status, the results of univariate analysis obtained that most adolescent girls had a 69.4% positive body image and most of 75% had normal nutritional status.

Abstract

The prevalence of overweight among adolescents is a significant health issue that can be influenced by various factors, including nutrition knowledge, family socioeconomic status, and consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs). This study was conducted at JHS 9 in Jambi City to explore the relationships between these factors and overweight status among adolescents. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between nutrition knowledge, family socioeconomic status, and SSB consumption with overweight status among adolescents at JHS 9 in Jambi City. The study used a correlational analytical design with a sample of 39 adolescents. Data were collected through questionnaires to assess nutrition knowledge, socioeconomic status, and SSB consumption, as well as anthropometric measurements to evaluate overweight status. The majority of respondents had inadequate nutrition knowledge (76.9%), low socioeconomic status (61.5%), and high SSB consumption (87.2%). Data analysis revealed no significant relationships between nutrition knowledge, socioeconomic status, and SSB consumption with overweight status among the adolescents at the study site. These findings suggest that nutrition knowledge, socioeconomic status, and SSB consumption are not significantly related to overweight status among adolescents at JHS 9 Jambi City. This indicates the need for further exploration of other factors that might contribute to overweight status, as well as a more comprehensive approach in future research

Abstract

The problem that often occurs in hypertension sufferers is that they tend to be unstable due to lack of attention to lifestyle and irregular medication. Management of ways to prevent and treat hypertension is carried out using pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Pharmacological treatment can reduce high blood pressure, but this treatment also has side effects if consumed for a long time, such as headaches, weakness, dizziness, liver dysfunction, heart palpitations and nausea. Management of hypertension or non-pharmacological treatment that is cheap and easy, can be done independently, is warm water foot soak hydrotherapy because warm water has an impact and physiological factors on the body, especially on the blood vessels, where warm water can make blood circulation smooth because warm water will encourage blood flow from the legs to the chest cavity and the blood will accumulate (gather) in the large blood vessels of the heart. This therapy has a temperature of around 38°C which can reduce blood pressure if this therapy is done regularly. Series of activities: 03 October 2023 to 05 March 2024, place at Olak Kemang Health Center, Jambi City for 30 participants. The results obtained by participants participating in activities were: Activity participants were able to understand the material properly, Activity participants were able to simulate the material correctly, Activity participants were able to answer correctly questions related to material evaluation.

Abstract

A social welfare institution serves as a substitute for parents or guardians in fulfilling the physical, mental, and social needs of children under its care, while also introducing activities that support economic independence. A community service initiative, in the form of a series of workshops on the production of YOSS (Healthy Squeezable Yogurt), has been designed as an effort to empower partnerships that enhance both the health and economic strength of the institution. This community service program is conducted over a one-year period, with active mentoring provided for three months, from July to Seotember 2024, targeting the caregivers and 55 residents at Sunan Ampel Orphanage (PASA) in Malang City. The mentoring covers various aspects, including production, consumption, packaging, and marketing. PASA possesses significant potential for developing this enterprise, supported by a young workforce and available basic facilities. However, challenges remain in improving production quality, particularly in maintaining the sterility of equipment and products. The production of YOSS has the potential to be further developed into a flagship product through expanded marketing and distribution efforts.
