Abstract

This research aims to analyze and provide solutions for PT Best Jeans Indo Citranusa (PT BJIC), which faces Inefficiencies in raw material placement and movement flow due to limited space and suboptimal layouts. Using the shared storage method, the study determines warehouse layout designs, distances, and movement times to propose better alternatives and improve material handling efficiency. The proposed layout was simulated using ProModel to evaluate its effectiveness. The simulation results reveal significant improvements compared to the current layout. The proposed design reduces the movement distance by 57.58 meters, equivalent to a percentage difference of -23.98%. Additionally, the simulation demonstrates a total time reduction of 206.17 minutes, or -55.17%, in transfer flow duration. These findings highlight the potential for substantial efficiency gains in both distance and time. By addressing layout constraints and optimizing the flow of raw materials, this research provides a practical solution for improving warehouse operations. The proposed layout demonstrates high efficiency and offers a significant improvement compared to the existing design, making it a suitable alternative for PT BJIC to overcome its current challenges.

Abstract

Abstract. This community service project addresses the critical issue of organic waste accumulation in Sukamiskin Village, Bandung, Indonesia, specifically targeting orange peel waste, which constitutes a significant portion of household refuse. The initiative empowered members of the PKK (Family Welfare Movement) RW 01 group through a structured training program to produce eco-enzyme, a valuable fermented liquid derived from organic waste. The primary goal was to equip 20 PKK members with the technical skills and economic knowledge to transform waste into a marketable, environmentally friendly product. The methodology employed a three-stage process: identification and socialization of the problem and solution, hands-on training in eco-enzyme production, and post-training monitoring and evaluation. A pretest/post-test design using SPSS 22 software confirmed a statistically significant increase in participants' knowledge (p < 0.001). Post-intervention, participants demonstrated practical competence in producing high-quality eco-enzyme, leading to a measurable reduction in household organic waste and the emergence of new micro-enterprises. This project demonstrated that empowering women's groups like the PKK is a highly effective strategy for tackling urban waste management challenges while fostering sustainable economic development at the grassroots level.

Abstract

Abstract. Cileuweung Village in Cimahi City has the potential for educational tourism based on cattle farming and dairy products; unfortunately, it has not been optimally managed. This study aims to develop a master plan for the development of a community-based tourism village by involving the community and local government. Through field observation, literature study, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the participation of local residents, we gather data to help understand more about the village and find the right direction for its development. The results of the study show that Cileuweung Village has tourism potential in the form of beautiful natural scenery, a cool climate, camping areas, cattle farms, plantations, small dairy processing industries, wood waste crafts, and local wisdom. The community and government are very enthusiastic about developing a tourist village, but face obstacles in the form of limited tourism infrastructure, human resource readiness, and minimal promotion. The master plan developed includes two zones with ten key functional areas. The participatory approach is expected to actualize sustainable tourism village development, improve community welfare, and preserve local culture and the environment

Abstract

Abstract. Village development efforts require the involvement of parties in this matter, namely the community, both women and men in it. Local women's perceptions regarding the division of village development roles are needed to get perspectives from women actors themselves regarding the gender-based role division in Ngestirejo Village. Thus, this study aims to identify local women's perceptions of the division of male and female roles in the implementation of the Ngestirejo Village Development Planning Programme. This research is qualitative research using purposive sampling. Data collection method was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with 17 informants, and secondary data review as a triangulation method. Data analysis was carried out by summarizing field findings into units of information and synthesizing these units of information into themes, which then culminated in inducing the themes into conceptual formulations related to the research topic. Thus, the result of the diversity of perceptions is seen in the emergence of themes, namely: understanding of gender-based role divisions; motivation for the division of roles; determination of core management; the composition of men and women in each team; women's responses to the division of roles; socio-cultural conditions; human capital; and will. There are two concepts derived from the induction of these themes, namely, gendered role sharing and participation. Thus, the expectations that can be identified related to gendered role sharing regarding implementation of the Ngestirejo Village Development Planning Programme are increasing teamwork cohesion and a more work-balanced composition.
