Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the quality of life in Sungai Bangkal Village by integrating appropriate technologies for clean water, household food security, and digital capacity building. The program was implemented from 9 October to 18 December 2025 using a participatory approach with two main partners: a Farmer Group and a Community Health Post (Posyandu). Interventions included constructing a filtration house and installing an ultrafiltration unit, introducing vertical hydroponics for limited land, and training participants to use spreadsheets for administrative and financial recording. Field-based simple tests indicated a reduction in water turbidity of approximately 90%, while hydroponic cultivation achieved about 80% plant survival to the early harvest stage. Pre–post evaluation among 20 Farmer Group respondents showed marked improvements in record-keeping (0–75), management understanding (25–85), clean-water SOP development (0–90), business planning (0–80), technical team formation (0–95), and management capability (25–85). Among 20 Posyandu respondents, average knowledge increased by 61.6%, particularly regarding the clean water–nutrition–stunting nexus and healthy-living practices. The program strengthened cross-group collaboration and data-driven sustainability

Abstract

BEM Impact Community Empowerment Activities in Sungai Bangkal Village, Sungai Tabuk District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan were carried out on 9 October–18 December 2025 with a participatory approach from two main partners, namely the Farmers Group and the Posyandu Group, through the integration of clean water ultrafiltration technology, household food security and digital literacy training. Digital literacy training activities were carried out as an effort to empower salted fish processed MSMEs in facing the challenges of low added value, weak financial records and limited market access. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the activity show that selling salted fish can increase the income of the residents of Sungai Bangkal Village. Educate an important understanding regarding the calculation of production costs as a whole so that MSMEs can set rational and profitability-oriented selling prices. Meanwhile, the integration of clean and neat packaging, e-commerce and Google Maps has been proven to increase product competitiveness and expand market reach. These findings confirm that empowering MSMEs based on preparing financial reports and digital marketing makes a real contribution to the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the Sungai Bangkal Village community.

Abstract

Sungai Bangkal Village, Sungai Tabuk District, Banjar Regency, is a flood-prone area where seasonal flooding frequently disrupts agricultural activities, leading to decreased household income and food security. This community service program aimed to improve community knowledge and skills in utilizing home yards through chili cultivation training using polybag media as an adaptive farming strategy in flooded areas. The methods applied included socialization, technical training on chili cultivation, field practice assistance, and program evaluation using a participatory approach. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of chili cultivation techniques and a plant survival rate of 91.3–95.7 percent. The polybag system proved to be effective under flood-prone environmental conditions because it is easy to manage, movable, and does not require large land areas. In addition to providing economic benefits through potential savings in household food expenditures, this activity also raised community awareness of the importance of productive yard utilization. With continuous assistance and support from village institutions, this program has the potential to serve as a community-based adaptive agriculture model in flood-prone areas.

Abstract

The construction sector plays a strategic role in supporting infrastructure development and regional economic growth. The success of infrastructure development is largely determined by the availability of competent, professional, and certified construction human resources. Central Buton (Buteng) Regency, as a developing region, faces the challenge of limited certified construction workers, both at the skilled and trained levels. In this regard, the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Central Buton Regency is holding a competency improvement and certification test for construction workers in collaboration with the Gatesi Karya Konstruksi Professional Certification Institute (LSP) as the Buton Tengah Competency Testing Center (TUK). This community service activity aims to improve the competency, professionalism, and competitiveness of construction workers through a training program and certification test for construction workers in the Buteng region. The implementation method includes identifying competency needs, providing technical and non-technical materials based on the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI), assistance with certification administration, and implementing certification tests carried out through the TUK Sewaktu Buton Tengah mechanism in collaboration with LSP Gatesi Karya Konstruksi licensed by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of construction service regulations, the implementation of occupational safety and health (K3), and construction work quality standards. In addition, all participants were declared competent and received work competency certificates according to the scheme they followed. This activity contributed positively to improving the quality of regional construction human resources, strengthening the role of local workers in development projects, and supporting the realization of safe, quality, and sustainable infrastructure development in Central Buton Regency.

Abstract

Optimizing the digital economy is a strategic step to enhance the competitiveness of rural MSMEs. In Battu Winangun Village, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, MSMEs face challenges such as reliance on cash transactions, low digital financial literacy, and a lack of online visibility. This community service aims to optimize the digital economy through the implementation of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) and business location digitalization. The method employed is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), involving observation, socialization, and technical assistance. The results demonstrate an increase in digital literacy, with five MSMEs successfully adopting QRIS and registering their locations on digital maps. This implementation has improved transaction efficiency, financial recording, as well as business visibility and accessibility. This program is expected to accelerate an inclusive and sustainable rural digital economic transformation.

Abstract

This program aims to empower the Sidogede Village Youth Organization through digital marketing training to optimize the marketing of local produce. Digital transformation is seen as a strategic solution to overcome the problem of long distribution chains and low selling value that have relied on conventional systems. The implementation method uses a participatory-applicative approach in three core stages: preparation (observation, needs survey, module preparation), implementation of one-day intensive workshops based on learning by doing, and multi-level evaluation (reaction, learning, behavior, and online monitoring). The results of the training showed a significant transformation in capacity: 100% of participants (20 people) successfully created and optimized Instagram/WhatsApp Business business accounts and produced marketing content. Seven-day post-training monitoring revealed that 75% of participants actively posted with an engagement rate of 3.5%, as well as 5 initial transactions worth IDR 850,000. This program proves that systematic mentoring can bridge the digital divide, change the mindset from consumers to content producers, and create real economic impacts. The sustainability of the program is supported by the formation of the Karang Taruna social media management team structure and the collective commitment to consistently provide content.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve teachers' competency in analyzing learning evaluation instruments through training on Quest software based on the Rasch Model. The participants were 25 high school teachers in Tondano, conducted online via Zoom over two days using a participatory training approach. The method included preparation, execution (conceptual reinforcement, demonstration, hands-on practice, and reflective discussion), and evaluation stages. Data were collected through pretests-posttests, questionnaires, and observations, then analyzed descriptively. Results showed a significant increase in competency, with the average pretest score of 46.80 increasing to 81.20 on the posttest (a 73.50% increase). The N-Gain value of 0.65 falls into the medium category, indicating meaningful training effectiveness. A total of 92% of participants showed substantial improvement and were able to operate Quest and interpret outputs such as item difficulty (logit), item fit statistics (INFIT/OUTFIT MNSQ), and reliability. Participant responses were very positive, with 88% stating the material was relevant and 84% committing to apply the training results in their schools. This activity contributes to strengthening teachers' pedagogical competence in evidence-based learning evaluation.
