Abstract

Deep learning emphasizes the connection between academic knowledge and students’ socio-ecological realities. This study aims to describe the implementation of a cross-subject co-curricular project for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 21 Surakarta, Indonesia, which is centered on the Bengawan Solo River as a contextual learning resource. The research employed a descriptive qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, document analysis, and in-depth interviews with key informants, including the former Mayor of Surakarta, F.X. Hadi Rudyatmo, local government officials, and community leaders living along the riverbank. Students were organized into five thematic research groups examining the historical, ecological, social, biological, and tourism dimensions of the river ecosystem. The findings reveal that interdisciplinary learning through field-based inquiry enhances students’ critical literacy, ecological awareness, and social empathy. The geographical proximity of the school to the Bengawan Solo River was transformed into a living laboratory where students conducted authentic investigations and produced various differentiated learning outputs, including research reports, short documentary films, digital infographics, artistic performances, and community presentations. The culmination of the project was a public exhibition attended by community members, which functioned as an authentic assessment platform demonstrating students’ ability to reinterpret local historical narratives and environmental issues into creative and practical solutions. This study highlights the potential of integrating deep learning with place-based education to foster contextual understanding, environmental responsibility, and higher-order thinking skills among secondary school students.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant transformation across various sectors of life, while simultaneously introducing new legal complexities, particularly concerning liability for damages caused by AI-based systems. Within the framework of Indonesian positive law, AI is still positioned as a legal object functioning as part of an electronic system or agent, and therefore does not possess the capacity to act as an independent legal subject. Consequently, legal liability remains attributed to human actors, namely developers and users. This study aims to analyze the construction of legal liability for AI developers and users under Indonesian positive law, as well as to formulate an expanded model of liability from the perspective of legal philosophy in order to achieve a balance between victim protection, justice, and technological innovation. The research employs a normative juridical method with statutory and conceptual approaches, analyzed qualitatively through deductive reasoning. The findings indicate that fault-based liability remains the dominant paradigm; however, it faces significant limitations in addressing the autonomous and black box characteristics of AI, which complicate the establishment of causality. Therefore, it is necessary to develop more adaptive liability models, such as strict liability, shared liability, and hybrid liability, supported by philosophical foundations including utilitarianism, deontology, and distributive justice. In addition, strengthening the principles of transparency (explainability), due diligence, and collective responsibility mechanisms is crucial in addressing the emerging responsibility gap. In conclusion, a comprehensive reformulation of legal regulation grounded in the values of social justice is urgently required to ensure that the development of AI remains aligned with the principles of legal certainty and the protection of human rights.

Abstract

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of obesity in Indonesia has contributed to a rise in metabolic disorders, including hypertriglyceridemia, which is a major risk factor for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Therefore, safe and effective natural- based therapeutic alternatives are needed. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of a combined extract of tea mistletoe (Scurrula atropurpurea) and mango mistletoe (Dendrophthoe pentandra) leaves as a dietary adjuvant on serum triglyceride levels in male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced with a high- fat diet. This experimental study employed a randomized pre-test post-test control group design with five groups: negative control, positive control (high-fat diet), and three treatment groups receiving the combined extract at doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg body weight (n = 7 per group). The treatment was administered orally for 37 days. Serum triglyceride levels were measured using the Colorimetric Enzymatic Test (Glycerol Phosphate Oxidase method) and analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results demonstrated a statistically significant difference in triglyceride levels among the groups (p = 0.01024). The positive control group exhibited the highest mean triglyceride level, whereas administration of the combined mistletoe extract resulted in a reduction in triglyceride levels. The most pronounced decrease was observed in the group receiving 100 mg/kg body weight, which showed the lowest mean triglyceride level among the treatment groups. The hypolipidemic effect of the combined extract is presumed to be associated with the presence of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids and polyphenols, which possess antioxidant properties and play a role in lipid metabolism regulation. In conclusion, the combined extract of tea mistletoe and mango mistletoe has potential as a natural dietary adjuvant for lowering triglyceride levels and improving lipid profiles in conditions of high-fat diet–induced dyslipidemia.

Abstract

This study discusses symbolic violence against women of the novel Cigarette Girl by (Kumala, 2017) in the context of generational patterns. According to (Bourdieu, 1977) symbolic violence is an implicit, unseen, and often hidden type of domination, which is based on cultural norms, social expectations, and the daily practices. The study employs the notions of symbolic violence, habitus, doxa, capital, and field as posited by Bourdieu to the research in order to understand how gendered domination is internalized and reproduced across generations within the family setups, practices in the industry, and cultural traditions as portrayed in the novel. The study reviews and identifies the instances of symbolic violence using qualitative textual analysis and close reading of narration, dialogue, and interaction of characters, based on silencing, emotional containment, lack of autonomy, and normalization of gender inequality. The results prove that symbolic violence towards women in Cigarette Girl is perpetuated across the generations based on the family values, the cultural memory, and patriarchal conventions institutionalized in the domestic and social sphere.

Abstract

Information asymmetry has long been recognized as a fundamental issue in corporate finance, influencing investment, financing, and dividend decisions. In the digital era, rapid technological advancement has transformed the nature of information dissemination, creating both opportunities and new challenges for transparency and market efficiency. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of information asymmetry in corporate financial decision-making within the context of digital transformation. Using a qualitative approach with a literature study design, the research synthesizes classical and contemporary theories of information asymmetry, corporate governance, and digital finance. Data were collected from peer-reviewed journals, academic books, and reports published by reputable international institutions such as the OECD, World Bank, and IMF. The analysis reveals that information asymmetry is shaped by the interaction of financial reporting quality, governance mechanisms, regulatory environments, and digital technologies. Digital governance, blockchain-based reporting, and enhanced ESG disclosure play a significant role in reducing information gaps, although they may also generate new forms of algorithmic asymmetry. Overall, the findings indicate that effective integration of digital technology and strong corporate governance can mitigate information asymmetry and improve the efficiency of corporate financial decisions in the digital era.

Abstract

Open-pit coal mining in Nagari Muaro Sopan, Padang Laweh District, Dharmasraya Regency, has generated extensive marginal land characterized by severe environmental degradation, vegetation loss, and soil contamination. This study investigates comprehensive revitalization strategies for post-mining landscapes through systematic literature review and field observation. Secondary data were collected from peer-reviewed scientific journals, government reports, and reclamation case studies, complemented by primary field observations at mining sites in Nagari Muaro Sopan. Thematic analysis identified seven critical strategies for effective post-mining land revitalization: (1) comprehensive land condition assessment, (2) soil quality restoration through organic amendment and pH adjustment, (3) drainage infrastructure development and water management systems, (4) appropriate native vegetation establishment, (5) ecosystem and biodiversity recovery, (6) local community empowerment through capacity building, and (7) sustainable economic development initiatives. Results demonstrate that integrated implementation of these strategies can substantially mitigate environmental degradation, enhance disaster resilience, and generate sustainable economic benefits for surrounding communities. The study emphasizes that successful revitalization fundamentally requires multi-stakeholder collaboration involving government agencies, mining corporations, and local communities. This framework provides practical guidance for transforming degraded post-mining landscapes into productive, ecologically stable, and economically viable systems in Indonesian contexts.
