Abstract

The effect of observing entrepreneurial role models on critical thinking skills in entrepreneurship learning. Objectives: This research analyzes a PBL model by observing an entrepreneurial role model's effect on the critical thinking skills in entrepreneurship learning at Vocational High School. Methods: This study uses quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach. The total population in this study was 463 students, and a sample of 60 students was obtained using a simple random sampling technique which was divided into two groups. This study uses an instrument essay questions tests in the form of pre-test and post-test. t-test analysis was conducted to test the hypothesis with a significance level of 5%. Findings: The results of the paired sample t-test obtained sig (2 tailed) 0.000 < 0.05. Thus rejecting H0 and accepting Ha. Abstract

Increasing student’s activities and learning outcomes by using controversial issues model in social studies. The aim of this study is for increasing the activities and outcomes of student’s social studies learning by using Controversial Issues Model. The kind of this study is a classroom action research, with the data collection’s forms are the observation and the test sheet. The analysis techniques used in this study are qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results of this study showed that the implementation of Controversial Issues Model could increase the student’s learning activities and outcomes.The percentage of student’s mastery learning activities is 45% in the first cycle and become 75% in the second cycle. Abstract

This research examined the effectiveness of Danielson Teaching Framework to evaluate Fiqh Muamalat’s Teaching/classes across 3 higher learning institutions in Kelantan. The framework covered 4 aspects of teaching; a) planning and preparation, b)classroom environment, c) instruction, and d) professional responsibilities. Methods: Across these 4 aspects of teaching, 44 items was used to collect data  from 313 students. To answer the survey, the quantitative descriptive and correlational design were employed. Findings: Research findings indicate that the construct mean for a) planning and preparation is 2.06, b) classroom environment is 2.75, c) instruction is 2.64, and d) professional responsibilities is 1.97. Conclusion:  DTF can be used as a good teaching evaluation framework to see teachers’ effectiveness because of its comprehensiveness and coverage. Also, based on the DTF dimensions, more improvements and studies should be conducted to ensure students' success, in relation to understand complicated content like Fiqh Muamalat. Keywords: danielson teaching framework, fiqh muamalat, islamic education, pedagogy, teaching supervision.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v13.i1.202301

Abstract

Objective The purpose of this study is to analyze teacher performance based on teacher competence which has an impact on student achievement at SMA Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar. Methods: The population in this study amounted to 30 people. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. Conclusion: The competencies There is a positive influence between teacher competence on teacher performance and there is a positive influence between teacher performance on student achievement. There is a strong and positive relationship between teacher competence and teacher performance and there is a strong and positive relationship between teacher performance and learning achievementpossessed by each teacher will show the real teacher. These competencies are manifested in the form of mastery of knowledge, skills and also professional attitudes in carrying out their functions as teachers. Abstract

Guided Translation to Channel an Autistic Learner’s Potentials in L2 Writing: A Case Study. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate to what extent the use of guided translation from the Indonesian language into English could facilitate a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to write a five-paragraph descriptive essay and expository essay in English. Methods: The study used observations on the participant’s learning behaviours and qualitative document analysis of the participant’s essays during the period of one semester. Findings: The use of guided translation helped the autistic learner, who typically had difficulty in language production both in L1 and L2, to write two essays in L2, whose overall quality analysed using the grading rubrics, was relatively the same as those of his developing peers, albeit the participant needed much more time. Conclusion: The finding suggested that autistic learners’ L1 could be capitalised to optimise their L2 learning.Keywords: Guided translation, Autism Spectrum Syndrome (ASD), L2 writing, case study.

Abstract

Research on social attitudes in Indonesia: A systematic literature review in reputable journals. Social skills are important attention to because life's challenges are increasingly complex. Objectives 1) The distribution of social skills in various fields of science, 2) Trends in social skills in the social sciences, 3) Which countries have the most articles about social skills, and 4) What important information is contained in social skills? The method is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), with parameters: 1) Publication in 2018-2023, 2) English, 3) Accessibility, and 4) Social skills theme. Results: 1) Social skills articles are spread across various fields of science; 2) Trends in articles in the field of social sciences experience fluctuations; 3) Indonesia reviews many articles about social skills and collaboration between countries; 4) Important information, namely models, methods and collaborative learning media can encourage the development of social skills. Abstract

Teaching Indonesian for Foreigners Online: Pre-service English teachers Constraints. Objectives: Thus, the research aimed to know the constraints of teaching Indonesian for foreigners online. Methods: The researcher employed qualitative research. The research sample was  20 pre-service teachers who taught Indonesian for foreigners in online mode. The total foreigners were about twenty.The research used semi-structured interview to gather the data. Then, to analyze the data, several stages were done namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Findings: The result showed that in the pre-activity, the teacher did not know how to master the online application. Besides, the teacher was nervous to teach foreigners because the teacher was not usual to teach foreigner with different cultural background. In main activity, the teacher found that students were bored and also lack of Indonesian skill, like grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. In the post-activity, the teacher did not know how to do online assessment for teaching indonesian. Conclusion: In short, the teachers’ constratins were existed in the teaching Indonesian for foreigners in online mode. Abstract

Abstract: Students’ Satisfaction on School Services in a State College in the Philippines. Objective: This study was purposely conducted to determine the satisfaction level of Bachelor of Science in Criminology students on the school services offered in J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), Philippines in 2019. Methods: This is a descriptive type of research utilizing a modified-validated questionnaire from the working guide of the accreditors in the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP). Frequency Counts, Percentage, and Weighted Average Mean were used in analyzing the data. Total enumeration was used as the sampling methodology. A total of 152 criminology students were identified as the respondents of the study. Findings: Results show that library and guidance services have the highest level of satisfaction rating while school canteen and criminology laboratory have the lowest students’ satisfaction. Abstract

The effect of reinforcement on athletic achievement to sport students. The aim of this research is to find out influence of reinforcement to learning achievement of high jump of flop style in student collage. The type of research used experiment with the one-group pre-test post-test design. The sample in this research is the student collage of the first semester in Department of Ilmu keolahragaan FIK UNCEN. The data collection tool used the test, which is the ability test to jump high of flop style. Abstract

Action Research Training: Its Effect on the Research Attitude, Knowledge, and Performance of Teachers. Objectives:  This study aimed to determine the effect of action research training on the attitude, knowledge, and performance of teachers in research.  Methods:  This study used the mixed methods sequential explanatory design. Findings:  Action research training that involved collaboration, coaching, and research support from mentors did not significantly improve the attitude and knowledge in research, but was effective in enhancing the performance of teachers in action research proposal preparation. Moreover, the participants claimed that the action research training was useful, effective, and transformative.  Conclusions:   Training, collaboration, support from mentors, favorable attitude, and knowledge contributed to the increased performance of teachers in action research.     Keywords: attitude in research, knowledge in research, performance in research, teacher-researchers, action research training.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v13.i2.202314
