Abstract

Outdoor learning is a learning approach that involves learning activities outside the classroom, providing students with direct experiences in a natural context. This article examines the role of outdoor learning in developing elementary school students' science skills through a literature study. Science learning conducted outside the classroom allows students to observe natural phenomena directly, which supports the understanding of science concepts in a more real and enjoyable way. Various studies have shown that outdoor learning can improve students' science skills, both in terms of conceptual understanding, experimental skills, and critical thinking skills. This method also supports the development of positive attitudes towards science and strengthens the connection between theory and practice. This article presents empirical evidence related to the impact of outdoor learning on elementary school students' science skills, as well as challenges and solutions in its implementation. The results of the study indicate that outdoor learning is effective in enriching learning experiences and providing a positive impact on students' science skills.

Abstract

Writing skills are one of the basic competencies in language learning that require continuous practice and the right approach. One approach that has proven effective is the use of visual media as a learning aid. This literature study aims to analyze the contribution of visual media in improving students' text writing skills, especially at the elementary and secondary education levels. The study was conducted on various national and international studies published in the last ten years. The results of the analysis show that visual media such as serial images, short videos, digital illustrations, and educational comics can stimulate imagination, expand vocabulary, and help structure ideas in writing. Visual media has also proven effective in building students' motivation and interest in writing activities. A visual-based approach makes the writing learning process more contextual, interactive, and meaningful. This study recommends the systematic integration of visual media in the Indonesian language learning curriculum, especially in the development of narrative, descriptive, and expository writing skills. In addition, teachers are expected to be able to innovate in the selection and use of visual media according to the needs and characteristics of students.

Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) learning in Elementary Schools plays an important role in shaping the character and social awareness of students from an early age. This study aims to review the literature on the effectiveness of the environment-based learning approach in increasing the social awareness of elementary school students. The study was conducted by reviewing various relevant previous research results, both from accredited national journals and other scientific sources in the last five years. The results of the literature study show that environment-based learning is able to link IPS concepts with the realities of students' lives around them, thereby fostering social awareness, responsibility, and understanding of local social problems. Activities such as environmental observations, field studies, and community-based collaborative projects have proven effective in strengthening students' active involvement in learning. In addition, teachers who are able to utilize the potential of the environment as a learning resource can create a more contextual and meaningful learning experience. Thus, this approach can be used as an alternative strategy in IPS learning to increase students' social awareness. This article recommends the need for training for teachers in designing and implementing environment-based learning systematically and sustainably.

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar Curriculum is one of the initiatives of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology to provide more freedom and autonomy to educational units and teachers in the learning process. However, its implementation in Elementary Schools (SD) presents various complex challenges, especially in terms of teacher readiness, availability of facilities, and understanding of the essence of the curriculum itself. This literature study aims to identify the various challenges faced by elementary school teachers in implementing the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum and summarize the strategies that have been implemented to overcome them. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach from various current academic sources, both relevant national and international journals. The results of the study show that the main challenges lie in the aspects of teacher competence, adaptation to digital technology, differentiated learning planning, and strengthening formative assessments. The strategies that emerge include ongoing training, strengthening teacher learning communities, collaboration between stakeholders, and the preparation of flexible and contextual teaching tools. This study concludes that the success of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum implementation is highly dependent on the synergy between teachers, principals, education offices, and central policies. Systematic and sustainable support is needed to improve teacher capacity in carrying out meaningful educational transformation

Abstract

 Green Education is an educational approach that emphasizes the importance of environmental preservation through a continuous learning process. At the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) level, Green Education has a strategic role in instilling values ​​of environmental concern from an early age. This literature study aims to examine the role of Green Education in shaping environmental awareness in PAUD children. The research method uses a literature review of various national and international journals, books, and relevant education policy documents. The results of the study show that the implementation of Green Education in PAUD is able to foster an attitude of love for the environment through a play approach, nature-based learning, family involvement, and the integration of ecopedagogy values ​​in the curriculum. In addition, teachers have an important role in shaping children's environmentally friendly behavior through role models and real activities. This article emphasizes that the formation of environmental awareness must begin as early as possible so that ecological values ​​are firmly embedded in children's characters. The five main aspects discussed include the introduction of environmental values, the role of teachers, family involvement, an environmentally friendly play approach, and the integration of a green curriculum. This study recommends the need for teacher training, green curriculum development, and synergy between schools, parents, and communities in order to build a generation that cares about environmental sustainability.

Abstract

 Existentialism philosophy is a school of philosophy that emphasizes individual freedom, responsibility, choice, and the meaning of life determined by humans themselves. In the era of modern life marked by identity crises, social pressures, and the complexity of life choices, existentialist values ​​are becoming increasingly relevant. This literature study aims to analyze the relevance of existentialism in modern life by reviewing the thoughts of key figures such as Søren Kierkegaard, Friedrich Nietzsche, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Albert Camus. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method of philosophical works, scientific articles, and contemporary reflections. The results of the study show that existentialism philosophy provides a critical foundation for the existential problems of today's humans, such as social alienation, loss of meaning, and the search for self-authenticity. Existentialism also emphasizes the importance of authenticity and personal responsibility amidst modern tendencies towards conformity and hedonism. Thus, this philosophy is not only theoretical, but also applicable in shaping individual existential awareness. This study concludes that existentialism offers a relevant philosophical perspective to address the various psychological and spiritual challenges of modern humans.

Abstract

Globalization brings very rapid changes in various aspects of life, including in the world of education. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as an integral part in the formation of character and morals of the younger generation faces major challenges to adapt to the dynamic developments of the times. Learning innovation is an important solution so that PAI remains relevant and able to answer the needs of students in a global context. This literature study aims to identify various PAI learning innovations that are effective in facing the challenges of globalization based on studies of various current research and scientific articles. The method used is a literature study with data search techniques through relevant journals, books, and online sources. The results of the study show that there are five important points of learning innovation, namely: the use of digital technology as a learning medium, the development of contextual and thematic curriculum, the application of interactive learning methods, strengthening moral values ​​and character through a multidisciplinary approach, and increasing the competence of PAI teachers in mastering modern technology and pedagogy. In conclusion, adaptive and integrative PAI learning innovations are needed to equip students to face the challenges of globalization while maintaining religious and cultural values.

Abstract

Arts and culture education plays an important role in the formation of elementary school students' identities as a foundation for personal and social development. This literature study aims to analyze and summarize various studies related to how arts and culture education can shape students' characters, values, and identities in the early stages of education. Using the literature study method, this article examines various relevant research sources and theories from journals, books, and scientific articles. The results of the study indicate that arts and culture education contributes to increasing self-confidence, creativity, understanding of local and national cultural values, and forming attitudes of tolerance and empathy among students. Arts education also plays a role as a medium for introducing national identity and increasing love for native culture. In addition, this education supports harmonious cognitive and emotional development. This study concludes that the integration of arts and culture education in the elementary school curriculum is very important for forming strong and characterful student identities. The implications of this study point to the importance of improving the quality of arts and culture learning in a structured and contextual manner in the elementary education system.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a major impact on various aspects of life, including in the world of education. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as part of the national curriculum also faces new challenges and opportunities in the learning process. One of the main challenges is maintaining and increasing students' learning motivation which is increasingly distracted by various digital platforms. This literature study aims to examine in depth the role of teachers in increasing PAI learning motivation in the digital era. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method from various sources such as scientific journals, reference books, and the latest academic articles. The results of the study show that teachers have a strategic role not only as material deliverers, but also as facilitators, motivators, innovators, and spiritual guides who are able to adapt technology in the learning process. Teachers who are able to utilize digital media effectively, develop technology-based learning strategies, and build emotional closeness with students will be more successful in increasing their learning motivation. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the digital and pedagogical competencies of teachers in order to be able to answer the challenges of PAI learning in the digital era. This study provides recommendations for the development of teacher training and the integration of technology into the PAI curriculum.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect in forming a generation that is not only academically intelligent, but also moral and has a noble personality. Geography learning as part of social science has great potential in instilling social values ​​and character in students. This literature study aims to examine how Geography learning can be used as a vehicle to strengthen character education based on social values. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method on relevant articles, journals, and books in the period 2019-2024. The results of the analysis show that Geography learning based on social values ​​is able to shape students' characters such as social empathy, tolerance, environmental responsibility, nationalism, and mutual cooperation. This learning also encourages students to understand the social and geospatial realities around them, as well as foster awareness of global issues such as climate change and social inequality. By strengthening the affective aspect in Geography learning, teachers play a strategic role in shaping students' personalities. With an integrative and contextual approach, Geography learning is not only a transfer of knowledge, but also a process of internalizing the noble values ​​of nationality and humanity. Therefore, innovation and development of Geography learning models are needed that are able to integrate character education systematically and sustainably.
