Abstract

This study aims to explore the formation of legal understanding regarding smoking within the framework of Islamic education by analyzing the perspectives of two prominent Indonesian scholars, Gus Baha and Ustadz Abdul Somad. The legal interpretation of smoking in Islam remains a subject of scholarly debate, influenced by differing approaches to religious texts and contextual considerations. This research employs a qualitative method using discourse analysis to examine the sermons and public lectures of both scholars as disseminated through various digital platforms. The findings reveal that Gus Baha adopts a contextual, tolerant, and wisdom-oriented approach, emphasizing the importance of understanding social realities in interpreting Islamic rulings. In contrast, Ustadz Abdul Somad tends to employ a more textual and classical fiqh-based perspective, delivering his views in a direct and assertive manner. These differing methods of da'wah significantly shape public perceptions and legal understandings of smoking within the Muslim community. The study concludes that tailoring da'wah strategies to audience characteristics is crucial for the effective transmission of Islamic legal concepts, thereby facilitating broader acceptance and application of religious rulings in contemporary social contexts. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pembentukan pemahaman hukum mengenai rokok dalam kerangka pendidikan Islam dengan menganalisis pandangan dua ulama terkemuka Indonesia, yaitu Gus Baha dan Ustadz Abdul Somad. Penafsiran hukum Islam terkait merokok masih menjadi perdebatan di kalangan ulama, yang dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan pendekatan terhadap teks-teks keagamaan serta pertimbangan konteks sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis wacana terhadap ceramah dan dakwah kedua tokoh yang disebarkan melalui berbagai platform digital. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Gus Baha cenderung menggunakan pendekatan yang kontekstual, toleran, dan penuh kebijaksanaan, dengan menekankan pentingnya memahami realitas sosial dalam menafsirkan hukum Islam. Sebaliknya, Ustadz Abdul Somad lebih menekankan pendekatan tekstual dan berlandaskan fiqh klasik, dengan penyampaian yang tegas dan langsung. Perbedaan metode dakwah ini berpengaruh signifikan terhadap cara masyarakat memahami dan merespons hukum merokok dalam Islam. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi dakwah perlu disesuaikan dengan karakteristik audiens agar penyampaian konsep hukum Islam lebih efektif, serta dapat diterima dan diterapkan dengan lebih luas sesuai konteks sosial masa kini.

Abstract

This article examines the role of women from an Islamic perspective by analyzing Surah An-Nisa (verses 32–34) and the exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad’s wives, as presented in Ustadz Adi Hidayat’s lectures on YouTube. Surah An-Nisa is one of the Qur’anic chapters that explicitly addresses women's rights and responsibilities, providing a significant foundation for understanding justice and gender equality in Islam. This study aims to explore how the values contained in these verses can be applied in modern life and how figures such as Khadijah and Aisyah reflect the ideals of piety, justice, and leadership for contemporary Muslim women. Using a qualitative approach through content analysis, this research examines Ustadz Adi Hidayat’s digital religious discourse and relates it to classical interpretations and scholarly studies on women's roles in Islam. The findings suggest that Islamic teachings, through Surah An-Nisa and the exemplary lives of the Prophet’s wives, can inspire modern Muslim women to actively engage in social, educational, and leadership spheres while upholding Islamic moral and spiritual values. This study is expected to contribute to the ongoing discourse on gender in religious contexts and promote a more inclusive and contextual understanding of Islamic teachings. Artikel ini mengkaji peran perempuan dalam perspektif Islam melalui analisis Surah An-Nisa (ayat 32–34) dan karakter istri-istri Nabi Muhammad SAW, sebagaimana disampaikan dalam kajian Ustadz Adi Hidayat di platform YouTube. Surah An-Nisa merupakan salah satu surah yang secara eksplisit membahas hak dan tanggung jawab perempuan, memberikan landasan penting bagi pemahaman konsep keadilan dan kesetaraan gender dalam Islam. Artikel ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi bagaimana nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam ayat-ayat tersebut dapat diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan kontemporer, serta bagaimana figur Khadijah dan Aisyah RA mencerminkan keteladanan perempuan Muslim dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui metode analisis konten, penelitian ini mendalami narasi dakwah digital Ustadz Adi Hidayat dan mengaitkannya dengan literatur tafsir dan studi-studi ilmiah terkait peran perempuan dalam Islam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ajaran Islam melalui Surah An-Nisa dan keteladanan istri-istri Nabi mampu menjadi inspirasi bagi perempuan Muslim modern untuk berperan aktif dalam kehidupan sosial, pendidikan, dan kepemimpinan, tanpa menanggalkan nilai-nilai spiritual dan moral Islam. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memperluas diskursus tentang gender dalam perspektif keagamaan serta mendorong pemahaman yang lebih inklusif dan kontekstual terhadap ajaran Islam.

Abstract

Akhlak serves as the foundation for exploring the rich educational philosophies promoted by KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, with a focus on his insights regarding moral education and the development of character within both Islamic and national identities. Employing a comprehensive library research methodology, this study synthesizes historical narratives and theological foundations that inform Asy'ari's teachings. The necessity of integrating moral education into contemporary curricula is highlighted, establishing his principles as vital for cultivating responsible and well-rounded citizens in today’s multifaceted society. Findings indicate that Asy'ari’s emphasis on faith, ethical values, and communal responsibility is crucial not only for individual development but also for fostering social cohesion amidst modern challenges. This investigation offers significant contributions to understanding the relationship between religious values and national consciousness in the context of education. Akhlak menjadi landasan dalam mengkaji filosofi pendidikan yang kaya yang dipromosikan oleh KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, dengan fokus pada pandangannya tentang pendidikan akhlak dan pengembangan karakter dalam identitas keislaman dan kebangsaan. Dengan menggunakan metodologi penelitian pustaka yang komprehensif, studi ini menyintesis narasi historis dan landasan teologis yang mendasari ajaran Asy'ari. Pentingnya integrasi pendidikan moral ke dalam kurikulum modern ditekankan, menjadikan prinsip-prinsip beliau esensial dalam membentuk warga negara yang bertanggung jawab dan seimbang di tengah masyarakat yang kompleks saat ini. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penekanan Asy'ari terhadap iman, nilai-nilai etika, dan tanggung jawab sosial sangat krusial, tidak hanya untuk pertumbuhan individu tetapi juga untuk memperkuat kohesi sosial di tengah tantangan kontemporer. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan untuk memahami hubungan antara nilai-nilai religius dan kesadaran kebangsaan dalam konteks pendidikan.

Abstract

Literasi digital merupakan kompetensi esensial bagi peserta didik abad ke-21, termasuk dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), khususnya mata pelajaran Akidah Akhlak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi integrasi literasi digital dalam pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak di era Society 5.0 melalui analisis pustaka tematik. Kajian ini menggunakan metode analisis pustaka tematik-kualitatif dengan meninjau 40 artikel ilmiah yang dipilih berdasarkan relevansi dan kredibilitas dari database terindeks Scopus, DOAJ, dan SINTA. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengelompokkan tema utama, yaitu konsep literasi digital dalam perspektif Islam, strategi implementasi dalam pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak, dan kebijakan pendukung digitalisasi pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa literasi digital dalam pendidikan Akidah Akhlak harus mencakup dimensi kognitif, teknis, etis, dan spiritual, dengan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek digital sebagai strategi yang efektif. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi dengan menawarkan model integrasi literasi digital yang kontekstual dan berbasis nilai-nilai Islam, yang relevan dalam menghadapi tantangan transformasi digital di era Society 5.0. Digital literacy is an essential competence for 21st-century students, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), particularly in Akidah Akhlak learning. This study aims to explore the integration of digital literacy in Akidah Akhlak learning in the Society 5.0 era through a thematic literature review. This study employs a thematic-qualitative literature analysis method, reviewing 40 scholarly articles selected based on relevance and credibility from Scopus, DOAJ, and SINTA databases. The analysis was conducted by categorizing key themes, including the concept of digital literacy from an Islamic perspective, implementation strategies in Akidah Akhlak learning, and supporting policies for educational digitalization. The findings indicate that digital literacy in Akidah Akhlak education should encompass cognitive, technical, ethical, and spiritual dimensions, with project-based digital learning being an effective strategy. This study contributes by proposing a contextually and value-based digital literacy integration model aligned with Islamic principles, which is relevant in addressing the challenges of digital transformation in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This study explores effective dakwah strategies employed by Ustadz Abdul Somad and Buya Ramzi in Indonesia’s pluralistic and multicultural society, with a focus on their implications for Islamic education. Using a qualitative content analysis approach, the research examines how both figures adapt their preaching styles to address diverse cultural, social, and religious contexts. Ustadz Abdul Somad utilizes a direct, educational, and humorous approach that resonates with various social groups, while Buya Ramzi incorporates local cultural values, arts, and popular media to deliver Islamic messages in a persuasive and peaceful manner. The findings highlight that inclusive, adaptive, and communicative strategies are essential in conveying Islamic teachings effectively. Moreover, these dakwah approaches provide valuable insights for Islamic education by emphasizing relevance, tolerance, and social harmony in shaping students who can thrive in Indonesia’s diverse society. This study contributes to advancing the understanding of contextualized dakwah practices that align with contemporary educational and social challenges. Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi dakwah efektif yang digunakan oleh Ustadz Abdul Somad dan Buya Ramzi dalam masyarakat Indonesia yang pluralistik dan multikultural, dengan fokus pada implikasinya terhadap pendidikan Islam. Dengan pendekatan analisis isi kualitatif, penelitian ini meneliti bagaimana kedua tokoh tersebut menyesuaikan gaya dakwahnya untuk menjangkau konteks budaya, sosial, dan keagamaan yang beragam. Ustadz Abdul Somad menggunakan pendekatan dakwah yang lugas, edukatif, dan penuh humor yang diterima oleh berbagai kelompok sosial, sedangkan Buya Ramzi mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai budaya lokal, seni, dan media populer dalam menyampaikan pesan Islam secara persuasif dan damai. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa strategi dakwah yang inklusif, adaptif, dan komunikatif sangat penting dalam menyampaikan ajaran Islam secara efektif. Selain itu, pendekatan dakwah tersebut memberikan wawasan berharga bagi pendidikan Islam dengan menekankan relevansi, toleransi, dan harmoni sosial dalam membentuk peserta didik yang mampu hidup harmonis di tengah keberagaman masyarakat Indonesia. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memperluas pemahaman tentang praktik dakwah kontekstual yang selaras dengan tantangan pendidikan dan sosial kontemporer.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of Islamic moral values as articulated by Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah, widely known as Buya Hamka—a prominent Indonesian Muslim scholar, cleric, and intellectual. In his thought, morality (akhlak) occupies a central role in Islamic education, with the ultimate aim of developing individuals who are not only intellectually competent but also spiritually and ethically grounded. Amid the current moral decline among the younger generation, revisiting Buya Hamka’s ethical framework provides significant insight into how Islamic values can address contemporary challenges. The study employs a qualitative library research method, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from Hamka’s primary works—such as Tafsir Al-Azhar, Lembaga Hidup, and Pribadi—as well as secondary sources including scholarly articles and conceptual literature. The findings reveal that Buya Hamka’s moral philosophy is built upon four foundational virtues: hikmah (wisdom), syaja’ah (courage), iffah (self-restraint), and ‘adalah (justice). These principles serve as a moral compass for shaping character, behavior, and educational approaches in both personal and societal contexts. The study also identifies effective methods of moral development proposed by Hamka, such as understanding, habituation, exemplary conduct, advice, storytelling, rewards, and attentiveness—with exemplary conduct being emphasized as the most effective strategy. The research concludes that Buya Hamka’s moral thought offers a comprehensive and timeless model for character education, rooted in the integration of knowledge (‘ilm), faith (iman), and moral action (akhlak), and remains highly relevant for contemporary Islamic educational practices. Penelitian ini mengkaji konsep nilai-nilai moral Islam sebagaimana dikemukakan oleh Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah, yang lebih dikenal sebagai Buya Hamka—seorang ulama, cendekiawan, dan intelektual Muslim terkemuka di Indonesia. Dalam pemikirannya, akhlak menempati posisi sentral dalam pendidikan Islam, dengan tujuan akhir membentuk individu yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga matang secara spiritual dan moral. Di tengah kemerosotan moral generasi muda saat ini, pemikiran etis Buya Hamka menjadi sangat relevan untuk memberikan solusi berbasis nilai-nilai Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka kualitatif dengan menghimpun, menganalisis, dan menginterpretasikan data dari karya-karya utama Buya Hamka—seperti Tafsir Al-Azhar, Lembaga Hidup, dan Pribadi—serta didukung oleh literatur sekunder seperti artikel ilmiah dan karya konseptual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fondasi pemikiran moral Buya Hamka bertumpu pada empat nilai utama: hikmah (kebijaksanaan), syaja’ah (keberanian), iffah (pengendalian diri), dan ‘adalah (keadilan). Nilai-nilai ini menjadi kompas moral dalam membentuk karakter, perilaku, dan pendekatan pendidikan dalam konteks individu maupun sosial. Studi ini juga mengidentifikasi berbagai metode pembinaan akhlak yang dikemukakan oleh Hamka, seperti pemahaman, pembiasaan, keteladanan, nasihat, cerita, ganjaran (tsawab), dan perhatian—dengan keteladanan sebagai metode paling efektif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa konsep moralitas Buya Hamka menawarkan model pendidikan karakter yang komprehensif dan tak lekang oleh waktu, yang mengintegrasikan ilmu, iman, dan akhlak, serta sangat relevan bagi praktik pendidikan Islam kontemporer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi Program Adiwiyata di SMP Negeri 1 Panti dan dikaji dalam perspektif Al-Qur’an dan Hadis serta prinsip fikih bi’ah menurut KH. Ali Yafie. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis dengan model Miles dan Huberman serta diuji validitasnya melalui triangulasi dan diskusi sejawat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Program Adiwiyata di sekolah bukan sekadar pelestarian lingkungan, tetapi juga wujud nyata penerapan nilai-nilai Islam yang bersumber dari Al-Qur’an, Hadis, dan prinsip fikih lingkungan (Fiqh Bī’ah). Kegiatan seperti menjaga kebersihan, memilah sampah, hemat air, hingga aksi “Resik-Resik” mencerminkan prinsip Hifdz al-Nafs dan khalifah, yaitu menjaga keselamatan manusia dan tanggung jawab sebagai pemimpin bumi. Melalui dalil-dalil agama, siswa diajak menyadari bahwa merawat alam adalah bagian dari ibadah yang akan dipertanggungjawabkan. Nilai seperti amanah, kerja sama, anti-pemborosan, dan kepedulian terhadap makhluk hidup ditanamkan sebagai bagian dari pendidikan karakter yang berlandaskan lingkungan dan spiritualitas Islam. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Adiwiyata Program at State Junior High School 1 Panti through the perspective of the Qur’an and Hadith, as well as the principles of Islamic environmental jurisprudence (Fiqh al-Bī’ah) according to KH. Ali Yafie. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model with triangulation and peer discussion to ensure validity. The findings reveal that The Adiwiyata program in schools is not merely about environmental preservation; it is a practical implementation of Islamic values derived from the Qur’an, Hadith, and the principles of Islamic environmental jurisprudence (Fiqh al-Bī’ah). Activities such as maintaining cleanliness, waste sorting, water conservation, and community clean-up efforts like “Resik-Resik” reflect the principles of Hifdz al-Nafs (protection of life) and Khilafah (human stewardship over the earth). Through Qur’anic and Prophetic guidance, students are made aware that caring for the environment is not only an ecological responsibility but also an act of worship with consequences in the Hereafter. Values such as trust (amanah), cooperation (ta’awun), avoiding waste, and respect for all living beings are instilled as part of character education rooted in environmental ethics and Islamic spirituality.

Abstract

This article analyzes the role of noble character as a foundational pillar in sustainable community development using a literature review approach. Values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and tolerance are identified as essential in shaping a just, harmonious, and resilient society. The study compiles recent literature from scientific journals, books, and articles to evaluate the contribution of moral values to social, economic, and environmental dimensions of development. Findings reveal that Islamic education plays a strategic role in internalizing moral values from an early age through synergy between schools, families, and communities. However, the study is limited by the lack of direct empirical data, suggesting the need for future research to explore the practical implementation of moral values across different sectors. The article emphasizes that sustainable development must be rooted in a value-based framework, not solely focused on economic growth. Artikel ini menganalisis peran akhlak mulia sebagai fondasi utama dalam pengembangan masyarakat berkelanjutan dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Nilai-nilai seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, empati, dan toleransi dipandang sebagai elemen esensial dalam membentuk masyarakat yang adil, harmonis, dan berdaya saing. Studi ini menghimpun literatur dari jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan artikel terkini untuk mengevaluasi kontribusi akhlak terhadap dimensi sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan dalam pembangunan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam memiliki peran strategis dalam menginternalisasi nilai-nilai moral sejak dini melalui sinergi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat. Namun, keterbatasan kajian ini terletak pada belum tersedianya data empiris secara langsung, sehingga penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan nilai-nilai akhlak secara praktis di berbagai sektor kehidupan. Artikel ini menegaskan bahwa pembangunan yang berkelanjutan harus berakar pada sistem nilai, bukan hanya berorientasi pada pertumbuhan ekonomi.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and compare the views of Ustadz Adi Hidayat and Buya Yahya regarding the concept of tabarruj from an Islamic perspective, and to explore how their preaching approaches contribute to character education for Muslim women in Islamic educational settings. This is a descriptive qualitative study utilizing primary data from sermon videos and transcripts, and secondary data from books, scholarly journals, and interpretations of relevant Qur'anic verses and Hadiths. Data collection methods include indirect observation and documentation. The findings reveal that both Ustadz Adi Hidayat and Buya Yahya strongly assert that tabarruj is prohibited in Islam as it contradicts values of modesty and honor. They both highlight the importance of cultivating modesty (al-ḥayā’) and manners as part of the moral foundation for Muslim women's character development in the digital age. These insights provide valuable implications for integrating Islamic values into character education in both formal and informal educational environments. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan membandingkan pandangan Ustadz Adi Hidayat dan Buya Yahya mengenai konsep tabarruj dalam perspektif Islam serta mengeksplorasi bagaimana pendekatan dakwah keduanya dapat berkontribusi dalam pembentukan karakter Muslimah melalui pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data primer berupa video ceramah dan transkrip, serta data sekunder dari buku, jurnal ilmiah, dan tafsir ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an serta Hadis yang relevan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi tidak langsung dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik Ustadz Adi Hidayat maupun Buya Yahya menekankan bahwa tabarruj merupakan perilaku yang dilarang dalam Islam karena bertentangan dengan nilai kesopanan dan kehormatan. Keduanya menyoroti pentingnya pendidikan rasa malu (al-ḥayā’) dan adab dalam membentuk karakter perempuan Muslim di era digital. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai Islam dalam kurikulum pendidikan formal dan informal.

Abstract

This article aims to examine in depth the concept of noble character education from the perspective of Ustadz Adi Hidayat and its relevance to the formation of Muslim character in the digital era. The background of this study stems from the growing moral crisis among younger generations, which demands a renewed approach to moral education based on Islamic values. This research employs a library research method by analyzing classical and contemporary literature, including Ustadz Adi Hidayat’s digital da’wah content. The findings reveal that noble character is a direct manifestation of strong Islamic creed (aqidah) and is inseparable from the formation of a Muslim’s personality. Ustadz Adi Hidayat emphasizes the importance of emulating the Prophet Muhammad’s morals—siddiq (truthfulness), amanah (trustworthiness), fathanah (intelligence), and tabligh (conveying the message)—as an integrative model of character education. These findings highlight that moral education rooted in correct faith, combined with the strategic use of digital media, offers a relevant solution for developing spiritually, morally, and socially strong Muslim generations. This study contributes conceptually to the development of an Islamic character education model that is responsive to contemporary challenges. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam konsep pendidikan akhlak mulia dalam perspektif Ustadz Adi Hidayat serta relevansinya dalam pembentukan karakter Muslim di era digital. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada meningkatnya krisis moral generasi muda yang menuntut pembaruan pendekatan pendidikan akhlak berbasis nilai-nilai Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka (library research) dengan menganalisis literatur klasik dan kontemporer, termasuk konten dakwah digital Ustadz Adi Hidayat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akhlak mulia merupakan manifestasi langsung dari akidah yang kokoh dan tidak dapat dipisahkan dalam pembentukan kepribadian Muslim. Ustadz Adi Hidayat menekankan pentingnya meneladani akhlak Rasulullah SAW—siddiq, amanah, fathanah, dan tabligh—sebagai model pendidikan karakter yang integratif. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pendidikan akhlak yang ditopang oleh pemahaman akidah yang benar, ditambah dengan optimalisasi media digital, dapat menjadi solusi strategis dalam membentuk generasi Muslim yang unggul secara spiritual, moral, dan sosial. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual terhadap pengembangan model pendidikan karakter Islam yang relevan dengan tantangan zaman.
