Abstract

This community service activity was specifically aimed at high school students in Nganjuk, who generally need to improve their knowledge and skills in writing scientific articles. The objectives of this activity are to (1) provide knowledge and understanding of the methods for writing scientific works, particularly national journal articles, and (2) assist students in producing scientific papers. The training began with explanations accompanied by examples (including titles, background, methods, results, discussions, conclusions, implications, and references). Participants were then assigned writing exercises on topics of their interest to work on at home. After five days, they reconvened to present their written results. In general, the training resulted in improved knowledge and skills, as participants demonstrated increased understanding and ability in writing scientific papers compared to before the training. This improvement was reflected in the rise in average scores and the outcomes of interviews conducted after the training process. Keywords: Student, Scientific Paper, Training, Writing

Abstract

Masalah sanitasi, pengelolaan limbah, dan kesehatan anak merupakan tantangan utama di Desa Kedungpandan, Sidoarjo, yang berdampak pada kualitas hidup masyarakat, termasuk prevalensi stunting. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi komprehensif melalui tiga kegiatan utama, yaitu pencegahan stunting, pembangunan Jamban Sehat (GEMAJAS), dan pengelolaan sampah berbasis Independent Waste Bank (IWB). Metode yang digunakan melibatkan pendekatan partisipatif dengan melibatkan masyarakat, Karang Taruna, dan PKK. Program pencegahan stunting berhasil menurunkan prevalensi stunting hingga nol persen melalui edukasi gizi, pengelolaan bahan pangan sehat, dan pemantauan pertumbuhan balita. Program GEMAJASA meningkatkan akses sanitasi layak dan menghilangkan kebiasaan pembuangan limbah sembarangan, sehingga risiko penyebaran penyakit menurun. Sementara itu, IWB mendorong pemanfaatan limbah plastik menjadi produk bernilai ekonomis, mengurangi sampah, serta meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pemilahan limbah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pola hidup bersih dan sehat, pengelolaan sampah yang terstruktur, serta perbaikan kesehatan balita. Keberlanjutan program dijamin melalui pelibatan aktif masyarakat dan dukungan pemerintah desa, menjadikan Desa Kedungpandan sebagai model percontohan penerapan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) nomor 3 (kehidupan sehat dan sejahtera) serta nomor 12 (konsumsi dan produksi yang bertanggung jawab). Dengan keberhasilan program ini, Desa Kedungpandan semakin mendekati visi sebagai desa yang sehat, bersih, dan berdaya.

Abstract

Desa Ponokawan yang mayoritas penduduknya menggantungkan hidup pada sektor pertanian menghadapi berbagai permasalahan seperti keterbatasan lahan, sumber daya air, dan pola tanam musiman yang menyebabkan rendahnya produktivitas dan pendapatan petani. Pandemi Covid-19 semakin memperburuk kondisi perekonomian desa, sehingga petani mulai mengadopsi sistem hidroponik untuk menjaga ketahanan pangan dan perekonomian masyarakat. Namun, minimnya pengetahuan menyebabkan kegagalan dalam mengelola hidroponik. Oleh karena itu, teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) diterapkan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktivitas pertanian di desa ini. Sistem hidroponik berbasis IoT (HYFARM) dipasang untuk memantau suhu, pH, dan kadar nutrisi, serta terintegrasi dengan aplikasi berbasis IoT untuk pemantauan jarak jauh. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas tanaman pakcoy yang signifikan, menghemat waktu dan tenaga, serta mengurangi kesalahan manusia. Dampak ekonomi yang signifikan juga dirasakan, dengan peningkatan pendapatan petani melalui hasil panen yang lebih baik dan diversifikasi produk menjadi es krim pakcoy. Program ini berkontribusi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi berkelanjutan di Desa Ponokawan. Kata Kunci: Hidroponik, Internet of Things (IoT), Pertanian Cerdas, Ekonomi Berkelanjutan

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini berfokus pada pembangunan infrastruktur wisata ramah lingkungan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk meningkatkan daya tarik Wisata Tumpak Selo di Desa Petahunan, Kabupaten Lumajang. Melalui kolaborasi antara 13 mahasiswa UNESA lintas disiplin, pemerintah desa, BUMDes Tirta Arum, POKDARWIS, dan masyarakat setempat, program ini dilaksanakan dalam empat tahap: observasi awal, perencanaan partisipatif, implementasi, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Kegiatan mencakup pembangunan taman wisata, papan himbauan, lentera alam, pelatihan pemasaran digital, dan pendampingan pengelolaan sampah berbasis komunitas. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas fisik kawasan, kapasitas masyarakat yang lebih kuat, serta kepuasan peserta pelatihan yang tinggi (85–90%). Partisipasi masyarakat mencapai 90%, menandakan efektivitas pendekatan berbasis komunitas. Program ini membuktikan bahwa integrasi antara infrastruktur ramah lingkungan dan penguatan kapasitas masyarakat merupakan model efektif untuk menciptakan pariwisata berkelanjutan berbasis potensi lokal, meskipun keberlanjutannya tetap memerlukan komitmen jangka panjang dalam menghadapi persaingan destinasi dan kerentanan bencana alam.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Surabaya di Desa Tosari, Kecamatan Tosari, Kabupaten Pasuruan dilaksanakan selama empat bulan (Oktober 2024–Januari 2025) dengan tema “Pengembangan Desa Wisata Berbasis Edukasi dan Kesehatan.” Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberdayakan masyarakat melalui peningkatan keterampilan, penguatan ekonomi kreatif, dan pengelolaan lingkungan berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi Action Research dan Community Development dengan kolaborasi aktif antara mahasiswa, pemerintah desa, dan warga. Program yang dilaksanakan meliputi pelatihan pembuatan produk lokal ramah lingkungan, edukasi kesehatan, pengelolaan sampah, asistensi mengajar, dan promosi digital melalui video profil desa. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat, munculnya produk khas desa, serta peningkatan kesadaran akan pentingnya kesehatan dan kebersihan lingkungan. Pembuatan video profil desa turut memperkuat identitas Tosari sebagai destinasi wisata edukatif dan berkelanjutan. Tantangan yang dihadapi mencakup keterbatasan infrastruktur dan inovasi produk yang memerlukan tindak lanjut kolaboratif. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil menciptakan model pemberdayaan masyarakat terpadu yang mendukung Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) melalui sinergi antara aspek pendidikan, kesehatan, dan ekonomi berbasis potensi lokal.

Abstract

The critical investment of the future society needed to develop student capabilities for the early stage. Research has contributes considerably to the investigation of necessary student capabilities for improvement. However, previous studies typically focus on proposing a general of capabilities. There is limited knowledge of how a school can identify the necessary of student capabilities and plan the corresponding development program actions. This research aims to determine the capabilities that need to be developed in Botok elementary school use Gap Analysis and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The method supports the analysis of any factors that influence by identify the actual condition, pre-test and post-test assessment of student capabilities in Botok elementary school. The gap analysis results are presented that linguistic and spatial-visual capabilities has excellent category. Meanwhile, the mathematics has good category. This result of gap analysis reinforced by AHP method, that are the eigenvector value of linguistic capabilities (0,20), mathematics capabilities (0,71), and spatial-visual capabilities (0,09). Thus, finding this research shows that the mathematics capabilities are the most important to develop.

Abstract

Pengelolaan limbah organik rumah tangga masih menjadi tantangan di berbagai wilayah perdesaan Indonesia, termasuk Kabupaten Trenggalek. Rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat dan terbatasnya akses terhadap teknologi tepat guna menyebabkan limbah dapur rumah tangga belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi lingkungan dan keterampilan pengelolaan limbah melalui inovasi komposter dua fungsi, yang mampu menghasilkan kompos padat dan pupuk cair secara simultan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Sukorejo, Kecamatan Gandusari, dengan melibatkan 20 ibu rumah tangga dari kelompok PKK. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif berbasis model DEK SUSI dan Participatory Technology Development (PTD). Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre–post test, angket, observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta dari skor rata-rata 2,9 menjadi 3,9, dengan 95% peserta memahami fungsi kompos, 75% menyatakan alat mudah digunakan, dan 85% bersedia bergabung dalam skema penggunaan kolektif. Hambatan utama adalah keterbatasan alat, ruang, dan akses bioaktivator. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam membangun kesadaran dan keterampilan masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan limbah berbasis rumah tangga. Inovasi sederhana ini memiliki potensi untuk direplikasi secara luas guna mendorong transformasi perilaku lingkungan dan ekonomi sirkular lokal.

Abstract

This activity aims to foster physics teachers' creativity in designing contextual and meaningful learning by integrating local wisdom values ​​into the teaching and learning process through a community service program. The activity was implemented in Trenggalek Regency, targeting physics teachers who are members of the Physics MGMP. The implementation involved three main stages: (1) dissemination of local wisdom-based learning concepts, (2) mentoring in designing creative learning tools that integrate cultural elements and regional potential, and (3) reflection and evaluation of the learning design results. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in identifying local potential as a resource for physics learning, as well as their ability to package this information into engaging, innovative, and relevant media and learning scenarios for students. Furthermore, this training successfully fostered a collaborative spirit among teachers in developing creative learning ideas rooted in Trenggalek's local values, such as utilizing natural phenomena, traditional arts, and community activities as contexts for physics. Thus, this activity provides a real contribution in improving the professional competence of physics teachers and encouraging the realization of character-based and sustainable learning based on local wisdom

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve knowledge, perceptions, and behaviors of the Indonesian diaspora at the Sungai Mulia Learning Studio (SBSM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, regarding the use of traditional spices for health. The program involved counseling, demonstrations, and completion of an evaluation questionnaire using a Likert scale and open-ended questions. Twenty-three participants took part in the activities and evaluations. The results showed high levels of knowledge and positive perceptions, especially in participants’ belief in the health benefits of traditional spices and their understanding of the functions of basic spices such as ginger and turmeric, commonly used as traditional medicines. Although some participants still chose modern medicine as their main option, they demonstrated a positive attitude toward herbal remedies. Behavioral analysis indicated a strong tendency to prepare, consume, and seek information about spices after attending the program. Qualitative findings supported these results; most participants stated that the activities were beneficial, broadened their insight, and encouraged habit changes toward greater use of herbal medicine. All participants also expressed willingness to join follow-up programs. Overall, this program effectively improved spice-based health literacy and has the potential to be scaled up through more intensive practical sessions and provision of guidance materials.

Abstract

This community service program was designed to integrate fundamental physics concepts into practical learning through the implementation of smart robot projects, aiming to enhance students’ comprehension and interest in physics. Conducted at SMAN 3 Pamekasan, Madura, the program involved the design, assembly, and functional testing of four line follower robots and one water-based fire extinguisher robot. Preparatory stages included intensive prototyping and coding trials at the Electronics Laboratory, Department of Physics, Universitas Airlangga, followed by a field survey to the school to assess readiness and requirements. The main activity engaged students in hands-on tasks, encompassing mechanical assembly, electronic circuit integration, and programming, thereby enabling them to directly observe the application of physics principles in robotics. Evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments indicated a measurable improvement in understanding, with average scores rising from 6.83 to 7.42. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of project-based learning in fostering not only cognitive gains but also positive attitudes toward physics by reframing it as an applied and engaging discipline rather than purely theoretical.
