Abstract

Adolescents are a group at risk of HIV exposure. At this age, adolescents have a high curiosity, so if it is not followed by an attitude that cares about HIV prevention efforts, then the attitude will lead adolescents to behave at risk of HIV, such as premarital sex and injecting drug use. One preventive method that can be taken is to provide education through audio-visual media. This media can help improve learning outcomes and motivation. This study aims to analyze the impact of health education about HIV through audio-visual media on HIV prevention behavior among adolescents in a high school in Tangerang Regency. The study method was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design using one group pre-post design. Instrument of the study was Sexual Behavioral Abstinence and Avoidance of High-Risk Situation Questionnaire (SBAHAQ). Respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The respondents watched audio-visual media (6:50 minutes) about HIV prevention. The pre-test was conducted before the intervention and the post-test was conducted 21 days after the intervention. The total number of respondents was 59 and age ranged between 15 and 18 years. The average score of HIV prevention behavior increased from 11.03 to 13.27 after the intervention with p value 0,001. Health education delivered through audio-visual media about HIV prevention can improve prevention behavior among adolescents in a high school in Tangerang Regency. Audio-visual media can be used in school learning, to make it easier for adolescents to understand HIV prevention behavior and an audio-visual media can be used to increase adolescent behavior in prevention HIV.

Abstract

Leadership plays an important role in influencing team member performance to achieve goals. The servant leadership model can create an adaptive and collaborative work environment, thus potentially reducing nurse stress and burnout. This study aims to identify the relationship between the servant leadership model of the ward head with work stress and burnout of nurses in the inpatient ward of Harapan Kita Children and Mother Hospital. This study used a cross-sectional design conducted in November-December 2024, including 128 nurses who worked in Harapan Kita Children and Mother Hospital. Data analysis was conducted using univariate descriptive analysis, bivariate chi-square test, and multivariate simple logistic regression test. The results showed a significant relationship between servant leadership and nurse work stress (ρ = 0.008, OR = 2.776) and with nurse burnout (ρ = 0.000, OR = 4.2). Multivariate analysis showed that servant leadership could reduce the incidence of nurse burnout by up to 5,588 times greater after being controlled by the variables of age, education, and length of service. The implementation of the ward head servant policy can help reduce nurse work stress and burnout, which has the potential to improve mutual care services in hospitals. Leadership training for head nurses and regular evaluations are needed to enhance servant leadership, foster a supportive work culture, improve nurse well-being, and elevate the quality of nursing care.

Abstract

The incidence of COVID-19 has resulted in many policy changes in each country. Some things done are physical distancing, social distancing, and social containment. The Indonesian government implemented Large-Scale Social Restrictions, changes in the school system, and lectures to an online system, worship at home, and work at home. Implementing online learning has obstacles, especially for nursing students, such as ineffective practice, not understanding the material, poor network, limited quota, and even the emergence of stress due to the system. Aim: This study aimed to explore nursing students' experiences in undergoing online learning during COVID-19. This research design uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The number of participants in this study was 14 from two nursing faculties in Jakarta, and the data were saturated using purposive sampling. Data were collected by in-depth interviews using the Zoom platform for 45-60 minutes, then verbatim and analyzed using Collaizi. The results of this study consist of three themes, namely challenges to undergoing online learning, the advantages of online learning, and online learning impacts. The results of this study can be recommended to modify teaching methods, such as inserting interactive material to motivate students to be more interactive and not trigger students to increase independent learning methods.
