Abdi Humaniora: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Bidang Humaniora adalah jurnal yang memuat implementasi hasil penelitian dalam bentuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang mencakup kajian pengembangan dan penerapan IPTEKS dalam bidang humaniora. Fokus dan Skop jurnal mencakup hasil penelitian dan implementasi pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang mencakup konsep, model dan implementasinya sebagai upaya peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pembangunan. Abdi Humaniora akan menerbitkan Artikel terpilih dalam hasil penelitian dan sosialisasi dan implementasi pengembangan IPTEKS di bidang humaniora, pendidikan, pengajaran.

Abstract

The training of rhetoric techniques in the sub-district of Balai Gadang Padang is aimed at improving the communication skills of the Islamic preachers or ‘juru dakwa’h in delivering their sermon or ‘khutbah’. With the improved skills, it is expected that their audience will receive and understand the messages delivered to them more easily. Rhetoric tehcnique or also known as ‘the art of speaking’ is a special skill used to speak in front of a larger audience whose purpose is not only to enable the listeners to understand the messages but more importantly to persuade them to agree with the opinions or statements shared by the ‘juru dakwah’. This ‘art of speaking’ is the most crucial to master since it can determine the success or failure of ‘a khutbah’. It also highlights the uniqueness of the preacher. Three rhetoric techniques were taught during this public service training namely; 1) monologue rhetoric involving only one speaker such as those found in speeches, sermons and declamation, 2) dialogical rhetoric involving two or more speakers like in discussion, conversation, debates, and colsultation and 3) speaking techniques coaching involving training to practice breathing, resonating, projecting, articulating and storytelling.

Abstract

Sabut kelapa dikenal masyarakat sebagai limbah yang dapat diolah untuk dijadikan bahan bakar ketika hendak memasak atau dapat juga dijadikan keset. Tidak banyak yang mengetahui bahwa limbah sabut kelapa tersebut masih dapat diurai menjadi lebih kecil untuk kemudian dijadikan souvenir. Pada pelatihan yang diberikan kepada generasi muda Pakandangan, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman kali ini, disosialisasikan proses untuk mengurai sabut kelapa menjadi patung kecil sebagai souvenir khas Sumatera Barat. Pelatihan yang diberikan selama 6 bulan berturut-turut telah berhasil menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat untuk menciptakan produk seni dengan nilai jual yang lebih tinggi. Dimulai dengan pengenalan alat dan bahan, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan proses penciptaan karya seni dari serbuk sabut kelapa. Rangkaian kegiatan yang dikembangkan secara bertahap dan berkelanjutan mampu mengarahkan aktivitas masyarakat untuk lebih jeli melihat peluang pasar. Ide-ide baru yang diserap dari lingkungan ditransformasikan dalam bentuk sket dan dijadikan prototype industri.  Dan dari prototype industri tersebut dikembangkan lagi menjadi produk inovasi. Produk inovasi inilah yang menjadi wujud nyata ditemukannya bentuk baru pengolahan limbah sabut kelapa (cocopeat) menjadi souvenir.

Abstract

The community service described in this article aimed at offering solutions upon thelackof optimal empowerment of technological capabilities, and knowledge of creating teaching content for teachers at SMAN 1 V Koto Kp Dalam Padang Pariaman, in responding to the demands for ongoing digital learning. Based on the situation at school, these problems lead to two main problems, 1) the lack of teacher's ability to design digital teaching materials/teaching media and 2) the teacher's lack of understanding in choosing the right integrated digital learning application used to accommodate connections and collaboration between teachers and students. The solutions offered are providing a workshop that facilitates teacher to be able to create interactive teaching contents through digital multimedia application. Prior to the workshop, a need analysis was carried out to know the teachers’ perception on the use of digital multimedia application for learning process and what application would suit best to the teachers’ technological capability and situations. The results show teachers’ positive responds and needs of digital application to create teaching contents and a web-based application, namely Canva, was chosen to be taught. The teachers were then guided to produce teaching contents through several available features in Canva such as Presentation, Infographic, Worksheet and Video Making.

Abstract

The presence of digital media give solution for teacher to produce and use multimedia such as Quizizz. This article aims to explain how to use Quizizz application for teachers. It used a library research design, because the research reading and understanding some articles that relate to this study. Based on the analysis, it can be explained that there are three steps of using Quizizz application. The first step is how to sign up and log in to Quizizz. The second step is how to use quizzes from the application. The third step is how to create a quiz by self. The fourth step is how to create a presentation in Quizizz. Therefore, it is very useful for teachers to conduct the Quizizz application in the classroom.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berfokus pada peningkatan keterampilan anak-anak Panti Asuhan Han- ifa III di Gadut Tilatang Kamang, Kabupaten Agam, melalui pelatihan kriya tekstil, khususnya makrame, dan strategi pemasaran yang efektif. Program ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi kurangnya keterampilan kerajinan di kalangan anak-anak yang selama ini lebih banyak menerima pendidikan umum dan agama. Pelatihan ini mem- berikan mereka kemampuan praktis untuk membuat berbagai barang dekorasi rumah seperti hiasan dinding, gan- tungan kunci, dan gantungan tanaman dengan teknik makrame. Selain itu, program ini juga mencakup kompo- nen pemasaran, mengajarkan anak-anak cara mempromosikan produk mereka secara efektif, khususnya melalui media sosial, untuk membuka peluang usaha. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, dengan sebagian besar berhasil menghasilkan produk makrame yang dapat dipasarkan. Inisiatif ini tidak hanya memberdayakan anak-anak dengan keterampilan yang berharga, tetapi juga memberikan mereka kesempatan untuk mandiri secara finansial dan berpotensi menghasilkan pendapatan di masa depan.

Abstract

This community service or Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) is motivated by the not yet optimal utilization and understanding of the community in managing the village library and the reading habit of most of the community has not grown well. This community service activity was carried out in Nagari Pakan Sinayan, Kec. Banuhampu Kab. Agam. The target of this activity is the village library manager, village mayor, and village community focused on developing community literacy through community activities that are expected to be able to use the library and be able to determine the right source of information. This activity will be held in August – November 2021. The methods used are lectures, hands-on practice, and mentoring. The results showed that the participants were enthusiastic about the activities carried out by the PKM team. Participants can understand and are committed to following up on this PKM activity by empowering the role of the library as a source of information through reading corners that will be developed in each "jorong".

Abstract

The implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka supports student-centered and flexible learning methods as reflected in Differentiated Learning (DL). Through this learning method, teachers would prepare learning materials, delivery, as well as evaluations by referring to students’ readiness, willingness, and preferences in learning. Therefore, teachers’ roles are essential in identifying and supporting the students’ needs to make sure that the learning processeswould run smoothly to reach maximum results. So far, the implementation of DL is delayed due to teachers’ unreadiness to apply the new curriculum and their preference to continue teaching based on the previous curriculum. For that reason, the current curriculum could not be implemented well. Due to this matter, a training to encourage teachers’ competences in preparing English lessons based on DL is proposed. In this activity, Junior High School/Madrasa English teachers in Padang Panjang were gathered in a training of Differentiated Learning to improve the teachers’ understanding about DL and help with the necessary preparation to implement the DL-based lessons in their classrooms. During the training, teachers were asked to participate in workshops, discussions, and being involved in a special project where participants were asked to create lesson plans in line with concepts of differentiated learning.

Abstract

The purpose of the Community Partnership Program is to empower village libraries based on social inclusion so that they can contribute to village development and community empowerment. The library as a social sub-system in society should be a social inclusion institution, anyone can take advantage of library services. To achieve the objectives of the activity, several approaches were carried out including (1) the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) model, (2) the Participatory Technology model, (3) the Community Development model, (4) persuasive namely the approach that was appealing and support without coercion for the community to play an active role in this activity and; (5) educative approach to socialization, training, and assistance as a means of transfer of knowledge and education for community empowerment. The method offered to solve the problem is to carry out socialization, comprehensive training in the management of village libraries based on social inclusion. Through this program, concepts and strategies for developing and empowering village libraries based on social inclusion have been conveyed to village managers, village library managers, and the community. Experience in developing community engagement activities for community empowerment through village libraries in Agam Regency. Participants can understand and commit to following up on the results of the discussion by first preparing a work plan. Communities who receive extension activities can also understand that the Nagari library is not only used as a means to borrow and read books. The village library can be utilized by the community for various activities that can be developed to improve the skills of the village community.

Abstract

This program was triggered by several problems faced by the partner, including students lack of knowledge about Japanese culture, particularly manga and anime, students lack of basic techniques for drawing manga and anime characters, and students’ low interest in the Japanese language.  Therefore, the community service team proposes training sessions on fundamental manga and anime character drawing techniques in order to enhance students' enthusiasm for Japanese language and culture, augment their understanding of Japanese art and culture, particularly manga and anime, boost their competence in drawing through step-by-step demonstrations and explanations of manga and anime drawing techniques, improve their general artistic abilities, and cultivate new interests in Japanese art and culture. The result showed an increase on community empowerment, specifically an enhancement on partner’s skills.

Abstract

Publikasi merupakan sebuah usaha untuk mempromosikan dan memperkenalkan ke dunia luar tentang berbagai pencapaian yang telah diperoleh oleh sebuah daerah. Salah satu media yang dapat digunakan sebagai sarana promosi dan publikasi adalah media sosial. Dengan media, sosial masyarakat umum dapat melihat, mengamati, dan menyaksikan berbagai kemajuan, pembangunan, kekayaan alam, potensi wisata, kearifan lokal, serta kuliner dari sebuah daerah. Apalagi disajikan dalam bentuk video dengan menggunakan ragam visual, suara, gambar, dan penataan artistik yang lebih menarik, misalnya dengan aplikasi KineMaster. Nagari Tuik IV Koto Mudiek dan Nagari Sungai Nyalo IV Koto Mudiek Kecamatan Batang Kapas Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan adalah dua nagari yang terus berkembang dengan pesat di bidang sarana dan prasarana nagari. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari segi pembangunan jalan, jembatan, gedung, serta infrastruktur lainnya. Namun, segala bentuk pencapaian dan pembangunan nagari belum terpublikasi dan tersosialisasi dengan baik. Banyak masyarakat (rantau) yang belum mengetahui kemajuan-kemajuan yang sudah diperoleh oleh kedua nagari tersebut. Hal ini disebabkan karena belum adanya SDM yang andal dan profesional sebagai tim promosi dan publikasi nagari. Ada beberapa media sosial yang dapat digunakan sebagai saran promosi dan publikasi, misalnya facebook  dan instagram. Kedua akun ini dapat digunakan sebagai sarana publikasi nagari. Nagari Tuik IV Koto Mudiek dan Nagari Sungai Nyalo IV Koto Mudiek Kecamatan Batang Kapas Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan adalah nagari yang sudah memiliki akses internet. Hal ini tentu dapat memudahkan bagi masyarakat dalam menggunakan berbagai media sosial, terutama untuk publikasi pembangunan nagari. Penyajiannya bisa dalam bentuk berita jurnalistk, video foto, dan gambar lainnya. Berdasarkan kenyataan tersebut, perlu diadakan kegiatan pelatihan peningkatan kemampuan publikasi jurnalistik perangkat nagari menggunakan aplikasi kinemaster untuk media sosial di Nagari Tuik IV Koto Mudiek dan Nagari Sungai Nyalo IV Koto Mudiek Kecamatan Batang Kapas Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.
