Abstract

Studying STEM is essential for students, even the lower grades of elementary school, to develop 21st century skills from a young age. Unfortunately, research regarding teaching STEM to younger students and professional training models for educators to integrate STEM in elementary schools is lacking. This research aims to determine the application of STEM in lower elementary grades; examine the factors that influence the effectiveness of STEM implementation in lower elementary grades; investigate strategies used to introduce STEM in lower elementary grades; and assessing STEM evaluation methods to increase the effectiveness of STEM implementation in the lower elementary grades. The initial phase of the project will involve conducting exploratory research on STEM in elementary school classrooms. This research will use a combination of approaches, starting with quantitative research and continuing with qualitative research. Surveys will be used for quantitative data collection, while interviews, focus group discussions, and observations will be used for qualitative data collection. Quantitative data analysis will involve descriptive and inferential statistics. Qualitative data analysis will involve content analysis followed by the application of triangulation. The research results show that STEM is very necessary to improve elementary school students' thinking, STEM can be combined with games to attract students' attention. A simple example of applying STEM is a simple project, so it can train students to work in groups which will have an impact on their social emotional abilities. The results of this research can be used as a reference for future STEM applications.

Indonesia has a population with the majority embracing Islam. Indonesian people hold the Islamic religion not only as a belief or culture that must be followed and adhered to. Therefore, there are many Islamic-based schools in Indonesia, including Islamic-based preschools. Tahfidz Qur'an is one of the Islamic-based learning programs in kindergarten. For this reason, this article aims to see what benefits there are from the Tahfidz Qur'an program for preschool. This research is qualitative research with the type of library study. Data obtained from collecting references in the form of scientific articles, books and previous research. Data analysis techniques are carried out by selecting, comparing, combining and sorting so that relevant ones are found. As a result, the Al-Qur'an memorization program in early childhood education has a positive impact on aspects of early childhood development, especially on aspects of cognitive, language and social emotional development. Even so, the tahfidz Qur'an program for children must be provided through fun activities such as through play activities, or by using media that is attractive to young children. This is done so that children do not feel pressured by the memorization targets set by the school.

Abstract

Children's social and emotional development in the early years is crucial to help them learn how to become good, mature adults. Studies show that children who have a supportive home environment and have the opportunity to attend preschool early learning programs that support their overall development will have better performance at school and better life prospects in the long run. Emotional development at an early age is critical to overall brain development and has significant effects throughout life with a strong emotional foundation in managing everyday social interactions. Adults demonstrating good, social and emotional skills around them, is the best way to instill righteous values in children. Research shows that teachers are severely affected by poor physical and mental health issues as a result of the workload they face. Teachers who experience low job satisfaction result in poor student learning outcomes due to pressure on their mental health. Implementing SEL for teachers can help them overcome their frustrations and stress. In addition, SEL helps teachers perform their roles better, improving the classroom environment and overall climate, creating a safe environment for young people to grow. Parents, guardians, or community members who need to be involved in SEL initiatives. Studies have shown that students are more likely to adopt SEL practices if they see their parents acting in the same way. They also do better academically and socially.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze single parent parenting on the social and emotional development of early childhood through a systematic literature review method. Children need a process to develop, every child's development requires support from the environment around them. The first environment that influences children is the family. Parents play a role in the growth and development of their children. Parents are the first people to provide care and education to children. If parents divorce, it will affect their social and emotional development. The systematic literature review method was used to collect and analyze findings from previous research relevant to this topic. This research will provide an overview of single parent parenting on the social and emotional development of early childhood. The results of this research show that parenting carried out by single parents by inviting children to discuss, tell each other stories and express their opinions is a way for parents, both mothers and fathers, to continue to provide care, provide love and time for children amidst the limited presence of complete parents and there is good communication between father and mother and children so that children do not feel abandoned due to divorce.

Abstract

One of the highlights is the impressions of tradition in the lives of children as the smallest members of society. The impression of tradition can be seen from childcare practices before, during and after the tradition. Of the many interesting traditions that exist in the Boti community, there are two very unique traditions, namely the Na Kanab Liana tradition and the Eu Nakfunu tradition. This study aims to explore and describe the deeper meanings and values of the Na Kanab Liana tradition and the Eu Nakfunu tradition as well as childcare practices before, during and after the Na Kanab Liana tradition and the Eu Nakfunu tradition in the Boti community. Qualitative research methods were used using data collection techniques, in-depth interviews with 15 people (1 Boti Tribe leader, 1 traditional leader, 2 community leaders, 2 educational leaders and 9 parents), participatory observation, and analysis of other documentation that answered the research objectives. The results revealed that the Na Kanab Liana tradition and the Eu Nakfunu tradition hold high family values and togetherness in parenting. The parenting practices include experiential learning, careful monitoring of children, and early responsibility. In addition, both traditions also emphasize the importance of character building and life skills relevant to the environment in which they live. The implications of this research include a deeper understanding of the diversity of parenting practices across cultures, as well as the potential to enrich parenting practices that can be used in modern life.
