Abstract

Most students in the fashion program, particularly at SMK Negeri 6 Semarang, still show low levels of understanding regarding the principles of sustainability in the fashion industry. This is evident from the failure to meet the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 75. This condition indicates the need for more engaging, contextual, and relevant learning solutions aligned with global issues. So far, the material has been delivered conventionally through textbooks and presentations, which have proven ineffective. There is a need for the development of more engaging learning media. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the Sustainable Fashion E-Module in enhancing student ability to analyze the fashion industries impact on the environment. The research uses a quantitative method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consists of 69 students from the fashion program at SMK Negeri 6 Semarang, divided into experimental and control groups. The instruments used were pretest and posttest questions. The research data were tested for normality and homogeneity as prerequisites for analysis. Data analysis was then performed using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) test to measure learning improvement and the Independent Sample T-Test to examine significant differences between groups. The results showed that the average N-Gain for the experimental group was 76%, categorized as effective, while the control group had only a 37% N-Gain, categorized as less effective. The T-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of the E-Module is effective in enhancing student cognitive abilities regarding the concept of sustainable fashion

Abstract

The learning process of the motorcycle charging system at SMK Negeri Situraja still faces challenges, notably the low competency mastery of students who have not yet met the Minimum Competency Criteria. This issue arises from the limited time available for practical activities and the lack of varied and contextual teaching methods. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the learning media, specifically a charging system simulator developed using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research results demonstrate that the developed simulator media is effective in improving students competency, particularly in understanding the operating principles and components of the charging system. This effectiveness is indicated by a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the simulator-based instruction. Additionally, students became more active, gained a deeper understanding of the material, and were able to apply the knowledge in independent and safe practices. The advantage of this media, compared to previous studies, is the security system that protects students during use. This feature ensures safety and creates a secure learning environment. Therefore, the PjBL-based simulator media is a suitable innovation for learning in vocational schools to support the achievement of optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes in certain competency elements of vocational education raise concerns about the adequacy of supporting factors, particularly facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to examine the influence of workshop facilities and infrastructure in the TKRO practicum on student learning outcomes at SMK Negeri 5 Kota Serang. Using a quantitative approach with a descriptive method, data were collected from classes XI TKR 1 and XI TKR 2, totaling 73 students selected through simple random sampling. The research data passed statistical assumption tests and were further analyzed using simple linear regression, yielding an R Square value of 0.119. This indicates that workshop facilities and infrastructure contribute 11.9% to the variation in student learning outcomes. It can be concluded that although the influence is not dominant, facilities and infrastructure still significantly affect student achievement. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for schools and policymakers in evaluating and improving vocational workshop facilities to enhance educational quality. Furthermore, this research highlights the importance of integrating physical resources with pedagogical practices to maximize their impact. One of the study's novel contributions is the identification of a gap between perceived adequacy of facilities and actual student performance, which emphasizes the need for better alignment between infrastructure use and instructional design. Therefore, improving learning outcomes in vocational education requires not only complete facilities but also competent teaching, motivated learners, and a structured learning environment.
