Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of local communities in the development of community-based tourism at Danau Kaolin tourist site, identify supporting and inhibiting factors of community involvement, and analyze its impact on tourism sustainability. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive phenomenological approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document studies involving 40 participants including local community members, tourism managers, community leaders, and local government officials. Data analysis was conducted thematically through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that local communities play a central role in managing and developing tourism, especially in providing tourism services and environmental conservation. The shift in livelihoods from traditional sectors to tourism services positively impacts the community’s economic and social conditions. However, limited access to training, infrastructure, and minimal participation in decision-making are major obstacles. The novelty of this research lies in its contextual focus on Danau Kaolin as a post-mining tourism destination with unique characteristics, and the use of a phenomenological approach to deeply explore community experiences. The study implies the importance of comprehensive community empowerment and inclusive policy support to enhance the strategic role of local communities in sustainable tourism development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for improving service quality at the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) of Surabaya City through performance management of apparatus, optimization of digital technology utilization, and integration of good governance principles. Disdukcapil faces complex challenges due to high population mobility and increasing public demands for fast, transparent, and accountable services. Using a qualitative approach with observations and in-depth interviews with apparatus and service users, the study finds that successful public service delivery depends not only on system modernization but also on the capability of human resources to operate the system professionally and with integrity. Implementation of performance appraisal based on Employee Performance Targets (SKP), competency evaluations, and a fair reward and punishment system are crucial foundations to encourage productivity and an adaptive work culture. Information technology acts as an accelerator for service efficiency but is only effective if supported by adequate digital literacy among the public. Therefore, strategies to enhance service quality must combine strengthening internal bureaucratic capacity with empowering the community as active partners. The study concludes that the success of local public service reform relies on harmonizing policy instruments, digital infrastructure, and good governance values. Bureaucratic transformation oriented toward public satisfaction must be built through accountable, responsive, and inclusive systems to deliver excellent, fair, and sustainable services. The findings provide important foundations for formulating equitable and performance-based public service policies.

Abstract

The era of Industrial Revolution 5.0 emphasizes the importance of collaboration between humans and modern technology in managing economic systems, including managerial aspects. Digitalization serves as a key driver in enhancing efficiency, innovation, and corporate competitiveness. This study aims to assess how digitalization contributes to the optimization of managerial economics in the present era. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing literature reviews and interviews as methods of data collection. The findings indicate that the implementation of technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and digital information systems can accelerate decision-making processes, improve operational efficiency, and foster innovation in products and services. However, challenges remain, including inadequate infrastructure, low digital literacy among the workforce, and resistance to change, which continue to be major obstacles. Therefore, a comprehensive and collaborative strategy involving all relevant stakeholders is essential to ensure the successful integration of digitalization within the context of managerial economics.

Abstract

This qualitative study examines the development of tourist interest in the Borobudur Marathon as a sports tourism destination in Central Java from 1990 to 2022. Through analysis of participant data and successful implementation, the study shows a significant transformation from a simple running race to a world-class sports tourism event that has a significant economic impact with an estimated turnover of IDR 10 billion in 2022. The results of the study indicate that the friendliness of the local community, sustainable innovation, and integration with MSMEs are the main keys to the growth of tourist interest. By using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, this study contributes to the understanding of the development of sport tourism in Indonesia, especially in the context of utilizing cultural heritage as the main attraction.

Abstract

Bandung, as a primary tourist destination in Indonesia, offers diverse attractions including nature, culture, and distinctive local cuisine. The increasing number of visitors necessitates practical and engaging information media to assist them in planning their trips effectively. This project aimed to design a comprehensive booklet serving as a guide to Bandung's tourism and culinary delights, specifically for guests staying at Favehotel Hyper Square Bandung, which previously lacked such a dedicated digital or physical resource. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, this project adapted a development model encompassing several stages: identifying potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, and final revision. To assess the developed booklet's feasibility and effectiveness, an evaluation was conducted through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The data from these questionnaires were then analyzed using a quantitative descriptive analysis method, calculating the average scores for each statement. The project's findings indicate that the booklet received positive responses from respondents, with high average scores across its content, visual presentation, and ease of use. Consequently, this booklet is deemed suitable for use as an information and promotional tool for tourism within the Favehotel Hyper Square Bandung environment.

Abstract

Tourism is a sector that is very popular with countries in the world to increase their income. Tourism is also seen as a multidimensional industry that has physical, social, cultural, economic and political characteristics, as the largest and fastest growing industry in the world today. Tourism is developed as one of the strategies to improve the quality of life of the community, therefore Community-based Tourism is present to develop local democracy where decision-making related to tourism activities in the area is carried out by the local community and also considers local priorities. The ideal development of community-based tourism should grow on local initiatives or commonly known as bottom up. Where the development of tourism activities is initiated by the local community and the participation of the local community is quite high. In Banyuwangi itself, there is a tourist destination that is starting to rise to move the tourism sector in its area, namely Penawar Sari tourism located in the Ketapang Village area. Although it grew on local initiatives, the community still does not understand how to maximize tourism activities in their area so that it is more profitable for them as the local community and minimizes the impact caused by tourism. Improper management and without proper planning, it is feared that it will actually become a tourism "bomb" that is detrimental to the local community so that a community-based tourism development model is needed in Penawar Sari Tourism so that the community can later become kings in their own area and take part in decision making and be active in tourism activities in their area. The data for this study were collected using observation methods, in-depth interviews with informants, questionnaires and documentation studies. Informants were determined based on purposive sampling, where informants were selected based on certain specifications. The informants for this observation were. Penawar Sari tourism managers and local communities. The results of this study analyze the existing conditions of tourism in Penawar Sari Tourism and analyze the type of community participation in tourism development and formulate a model of community participation in the development of Penawar Sari Tourism.

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of brand preference and halal labeling on customers' desire to buy Baba Rafi Turkish kebabs. Using a purposive sampling approach, 50 respondents were selected as a research sample. Using the Pearson Product Moment correlation method and Cronbach's Alpha technique, the validity and reliability of the research instrument were assessed. Cronbach's Alpha value for the entire instrument is 0.827, which indicates a high level of reliability. All items demonstrate acceptable validity. The impact of independent variables on dependent variables is assessed using linear regression analysis, both collectively and independently. The F test revealed that, taken together, Halal Labeling and Brand Preference had a substantial impact on Buying Interest (F = 5.755; Sig. = 0.006). However, the t-test showed that only Brand Preference had a significant independent effect (t = 3.129 ; Sig. = 0.003 ) , while Halal Labeling did not (t = 0.051 ; Sig. = 0.960). According to the value of the determination coefficient (R2) recorded at 0.197, the two independent variables accounted for 19.7% of the variability in Purchase Interest, while the remaining variance could be attributed to other variables. The conclusion of this study is that brand preference is a major factor influencing consumers' tendency to buy Baba Rafi Turkish kebabs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the tourism potential of Nagari Sumpur, West Sumatra, and to develop a dissemination medium using WebGIS based on ArcGIS StoryMaps. The background of the research stems from the limited digital promotion of local tourism destinations that possess rich historical, cultural, and natural value. A qualitative approach was employed, involving observation, interviews, documentation, and the construction of interactive narratives on a digital platform. The results show that Nagari Sumpur holds significant tourism potential, including traditional rumah gadang houses as Minangkabau cultural heritage, the daily activities of local fishermen at Lake Singkarak, and a variety of traditional culinary offerings. The dissemination of information through StoryMaps proved effective in presenting tourism narratives in an engaging and informative way. Interactive maps, multimedia content, and ease of access were key strengths of this medium in reaching wider audiences. The implications of this research indicate that integrating geospatial technology with local cultural narratives can serve as an innovative and sustainable tourism promotion strategy, while directly empowering local communities.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa pengaruh secra efektif dari suatu pelatihan (On The Job Training) dalam meningkatkan prestasi kerja karyawan PT. Sumber Mulya Teknikindo, sekaligus melakukan evaluasi menyeluruh pengaruh pelatihan (On The Job Training) dalam meningkatkan prestasi kerja karyawan PT. Sumber Mulya Teknikindo. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, wawancara, dokumentasi, observasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian bahwa dari Analisis Statistik Regresi menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh pelatihan (On The Job Training) berdampak secara nyata, hal ini terlihat bahwa faktor gaji, jaminan sosial, kesemapatan promosi, kondisi kerja, kesempatan berprestasi serta fasilitas pendukung seperti rekreasi menunjukkan pengaruh secara nyata terbukti dari Analisis Regresi menunjukkan perbedaan sangat nyata terhadap prestasi kerja karyawan PT. Sumber Mulya Teknikindo yaitu besarnya t hitung sebesar 6,521 dan t tabel sebesar 3,26, artinya bahwa pelatihan (On The Job Training) dalam hal ini kesempatan diklat, metode diklat, promosi, frekuensi promosi, fasilitas kerja, sarana dan prasaranam, suasana kerja, frekuensi rekreasi, fasilitas rekreasi berdampak nyata terhadap prestasi kerja dalam hal ini tingkat absensi dan presensi, pemenuhan jam kerja, keterlibatan pegawai, frekuensi kerjasama, aktifitas organisasi, pencapaian target, ketepatan waktu penyelesaian pekerjaan, kualitas kerja dan kuantitas kerja, serta tingkat kesalahan pekerjaan. Namun demikian masih banyak faktor-faktor yang belum terpenuhi secara nyata diantaranya disiplin kerja, ketepatan waktu penyelesaian pekerjaan harus ditingkatkan lagi sehingga nantinya perusahaan memberikan pelatihan dapat berdampak nyata terhadap prestasi kerja karyawan PT. Sumber Mulya Teknikindo.

Abstract

Kampuang Minang Tourism Village in Nagari Sumpur, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, is a culture-based tourism village that highlights the potential of local wisdom as the main attraction. This research aims to analyze this potential and identify challenges and opportunities in its preservation. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that cultural elements such as rumah gadang, bajamba meal processions, and traditional arts have been successfully packaged into an authentic tourism experience through the concept of family homestay. However, the development of tourist villages faces obstacles such as limited infrastructure, low participation of the younger generation, and perceptions of injustice in the management of Pokdarwis.
