Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of service digitalization on customer satisfaction at PT. Bank Sumsel Babel, Pulau Beringin Sub-Branch, Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan Regency. The research was conducted as part of the requirements to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Economics at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), Institut Agama Islam Pagar Alam. The results indicate that service digitalization has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction. This is supported by statistical analysis, where the t-value (1.699) exceeds the t-table value (1.117), and the significance level is 0.000 < 0.05. The beta coefficient of 0.954 shows that digitalization influences customer satisfaction by 95.4%. However, the correlation coefficient (R) is 0.268, and the coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.072, indicating a relatively low overall influence. Despite this, digital services still play an important role in shaping customer satisfaction. Key influencing indicators include efficiency, reliability, fulfillment, privacy, responsiveness, and contact, alongside product quality, service quality, emotional factors, and cost. The study recommends enhancing digital service quality to improve customer satisfaction more effectively.

Abstract

This study examines the contribution of tourism village development in the Singkarak Lake area to increasing local community income and welfare. The background of this study is based on the importance of local potential-based development in supporting the village economy and empowering communities in a sustainable manner. Tourism villages are not only nature and culture-based destinations, but also a place for community economic empowerment through active participation in the tourism sector. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and literature studies. The research location is focused on Nagari Sumpur, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. The results of the study show that the development of tourism villages has had a significant economic impact through the opening of new business opportunities, such as managing homestays, traditional food stalls, local transportation services, and selling regional souvenirs. Community involvement is very high and participatory, reflecting the principle of community-based tourism. In addition to providing additional income for vulnerable groups such as housewives, tourism activities also encourage the growth of supporting sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, and local logistics. However, the study also found various obstacles, especially the lack of formal training, the absence of institutional support, the absence of cooperatives or BUMDes that regulate economic activities collectively, and the unequal distribution of benefits among villagers. This gap shows the need for intervention from the government and external partners in the form of training, empowerment, business assistance, and strengthening inclusive governance. Community optimism towards the long-term prospects of tourism villages is still high, especially with the increasing involvement of the younger generation in digital promotion and management of tourism businesses.

Abstract

Lake Singkarak is a tectonic lake that plays a vital role in supporting the economic life of the surrounding community, especially traditional fishermen in Nagari Sumpur. However, pressure on the ecosystem and the decline in the population of bilih fish pose a threat to the sustainability of fishermen's livelihoods. This study aims to analyze the form of community empowerment carried out and its impact on improving the fishermen's economy. The study was conducted through a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that although an empowerment program had been carried out through assistance with fishing gear and PAP funds, its sustainability was not well maintained. Fishermen's income has not shown a significant increase, and tourism development has not fully touched their welfare. A more integrated strategy is needed between the fisheries and tourism sectors to realize sustainable empowerment.

Abstract

Environmental issues, particularly waste management, have become critical problems that demand attention from all societal levels, including university students as agents of change. This study aims to analyze the influence of environmental knowledge and word of mouth on environmental attitudes and the purchase intention of eco-friendly products among students. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, using semi-structured interviews with five students from various study programs at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU). The findings indicate that students possess a good understanding of eco-friendly products and have begun incorporating them into their daily lives, despite challenges such as higher prices, limited access, and insufficient education. Factors such as social media, personal experiences, and the influence of campus figures play a significant role in shaping their purchase intentions. Most respondents also expressed a willingness to pay more for products that offer long-term quality and positive environmental impact. This study highlights the importance of institutional support in fostering sustainable lifestyles through facilities and programs that encourage environmentally responsible consumption.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the availability and feasibility of tourism infrastructure in Nagari Sumpur, West Sumatra, in supporting the development of a sustainable ecotourism-based village. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through field observations and in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that Nagari Sumpur has promising infrastructure potential, particularly in basic facilities such as road networks and clean water supply, as well as natural and cultural attractions. However, several challenges persist, including limited supporting facilities (public toilets, tourist information centers, and telecommunication networks), suboptimal waste management systems, and a lack of renewable energy facilities. Strategic recommendations are formulated in three phases: short-term (improvement of basic facilities), medium-term (enhancement of technological infrastructure and environmental management), and long-term (implementation of eco-friendly technology and human resource development). This study contributes to sustainable village tourism development by emphasizing the importance of balancing environmental, economic, socio-cultural, and sustainability management aspects.

Abstract

The Raja Ampat region, recognised as having some of the highest marine biodiversity in the world, faces challenges in sustainable tourism management. Issues such as environmental degradation due to tourism activities, land tensions between indigenous communities and investors, and mining expansion are complex. This study aims to assess the legal obstacles faced in maintaining the sustainability of the area, evaluate the role of local wisdom such as the practice of ‘sasi’ in natural resource conservation, and formulate a legal approach that favours local communities. Using a qualitative approach, the study combines a review of policy documents, data from civil society organisations, and juridical analysis of national regulations and customary practices. The results show that local wisdom systems make a real contribution to environmental conservation efforts, but have not received adequate legal recognition and protection. Regulatory disharmony, weak policy implementation, and low community involvement are the main inhibiting factors. The implications of this study emphasise the importance of harmonisation between national and local legal norms, as well as the need to strengthen the capacity of communities as the main actors in the preservation of sustainable tourism and regional cultural identity.

Abstract

Goa Garba is a historical heritage tourism site located in Pejeng Village, Gianyar Regency. This site was built in the 12th century during the reign of King Jayapangus. The site’s potential as a tourism attraction includes stone stairways, niches, the Waja spring, and a pristine natural landscape. Activities that can be undertaken at this site include meditation and melukat (a Balinese spiritual cleansing ritual). The management of Goa Garba began in 2023 under the Gianyar Regency Tourism Office in collaboration with the local customary village (Desa Adat). This management effort aims to preserve historical heritage while enhancing the local community’s economy. However, the development of the Goa Garba Tourism Attraction (DTW Goa Garba) faces several challenges, including relatively low tourist visits compared to other destinations. Although the Tourism Office has carried out promotional and branding efforts, these have yet to significantly increase visitor interest. This issue prompted the authors to conduct an in-depth study. The objectives of this research are to describe the potential of the Goa Garba Cultural Heritage Site, analyze its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and formulate management strategies for its development. The research uses both qualitative and quantitative data. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The findings are as follows: First, Goa Garba's tourism potential consists of natural, cultural, and limited artificial elements. The natural potential includes forested areas, a waterfall in front of the niche, and the Pakerisan River. Artificial tourism development is limited since Goa Garba focuses on special interest tourism, particularly wellness tourism. Cultural tourism potentials include the stone staircase, ancient gateway, Goa Garba cave, and niches. One of the main strengths of DTW Goa Garba lies in its historical value, particularly the footprint of Kebo Iwa found on one of the stone steps. Financial constraints are a key weakness, as they hinder the ability to repair damaged facilities. Nevertheless, Goa Garba holds potential as a unique and unspoiled site and has the opportunity to collaborate with yoga companies. Based on SWOT analysis, the position of Goa Garba falls in Quadrant II,
