Abstract

This research investigates the impact of Direct Method on students' pronunciation. The study uses a quantitative, quasi-experimental approach with pre-test, treatment, and post-test data. The sample consisted of 49 grade XII students. Data was collected through oral tests with 25-word items. The result can be seen from the mean score in the pre-test to the post which have enhancement. It can be proved that Direct Method can affect to students’ pronunciation at grade XII in Islamic Senior High School of Mardhatillah.

Abstract

Abstract Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, peneliti ingin menggambarkan tentang implikasi dari genre based approach dalam pengajaran menulis bahasa Inggris siswa SMP di Padangsidimpuan. Guru kurang memahami tentang metode genre based approach ini. Selain itu siswa juga memahami kesulitan dalam memahami ciri-ciri teks, sehinggaperlu dicarikan pemecahan terhadap masalah tersebut. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa genre based approach  dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis. Peningkatan yang dialami siswa ada pada beberapa aspek seperti kemampuan siswa dalam menghasilkan tulisan yang benar berdasarkan struktur dan bahasanya.Keywords: narrative text, genre-based approach, teaching writing, Indonesian

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas tentang Hyperbola dalam novel "Garis Waktu". Disini peneliti secara khusus ingin mengetahui bagaimana hiperbola dalam novel "Garis Waktu" ini, dan untuk mengetahui Apa makna hiperbola dalam novel "Garis Waktu". Oleh karena itu, di sini peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif untuk penelitian. Di mana ia hanya menggambarkan data apa yang ditunjukkan atau apa yang terjadi dengan menghitung persentase apa yang ditetapkan dalam sumber data. Dan kemudian, sumber data akan diambil dari buku saja. Selain itu, dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode analisis isi untuk teknik analisis data. Kesimpulannya, peneliti mengambil tiga bab dari novel "Garis Waktu" untuk dianalisis dan kemudian mendapat 14 hiperbola. Ada 4 hiperbola di bab satu, 6 hiperbola di bab dua, dan 4 hiperbola di bab tiga.

Abstract

Alquran merupakan buku petunjuk penggunaan dan perawatan semua benda yang ada di duniaini. Benda yang dimaksud adalah benda hidup maupun benda mati. Seperti manusia, tumbuhan, jin, hewan dan benda-benda lainnya yang bertempat di bumi, langit dan yang ada diantara keduanya. Buku petunjuk ini ditunjukkan bagi manusia sebagai khalifah yang Allah Swt pilihkan untuk memimpin di muka bumi, jadi Alquran hanya diberikan kepada makhluk lain seperti malaikat, jin, hewan, dan tumbuhan. Manusia adalah makhluk yang paling istimewa yang salah satu keistemewaan manusia adalah kemampuan menggunakan manusia.Bahasa adalah salah satu alat manusia untuk berkomunikasi dengan penciptanya dan dengan makhluk sesamanya seperti Alquran dalam bahasa arab adalah alat manusia berkomunikasi dengan Allah Swt. Untuk bias memahami perintah dan larangan dari Allah Swt sebagai pencipta bumi, langit, dan yang ada diantara keduanya sehingga semua benda yang digunakan manusia selama dalam kehidupannya diri dhoi oleh pemiliknya yaitu Allah Swt. Ala tkomunikasi yang dimaksudkan adalah bahasa yang meliputi empat kemampuan berbahasa yaitu mendengarkan, berbicara, membaca dan menulis. Bahkan penjelasan tentang keempat kemampuan berbahasa inipun bias ditemukan dalam Alquran.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know students’ learning anxiety at VIII grade students of SMPN 2 Padangsidimpuan. Learning anxiety is one of the negative factors that affect the language learning process. This research employed descriptive method. The population of this research was the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Padangsidimpuan. The total sample is 74 students taken by using random sampling. The researcher used 33 items of questionnaire for learning anxiety which adopted from Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) was developed by Horwitz and Cope. Questionnaire items were analyzed based on several indicators namely communication apprehension, fear of negative evaluation, test anxiety, English classroom anxiety. The score determined whether the anxiety level is very anxious level, anxious, midly anxious, relaxed and very relaxed level. The result showed that the VIII grade students of SMPN 2 Padangsidimpuan was in very anxious category. It was proved by the students’ acquisition score which the highest score was 158, the lowest score was 98 and mean score was 130,45. The finding could be conclude that generally students categorized into very anxious level.

Abstract

Penelitian in bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan dari pengaplikasian Visual scaffolding untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Penelitian ini didesain dengan penelitian tindakan kelas (action research). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. Pengumpulan data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan ujian menulis (writing test) untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa. Dan data kualitatif dikumpulkan dari catatan harian (diary notes), angket, dan lembar observasi. Daripeneltian ini ditemukan bahwa pengaplikasian visual scaffolding efektf dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis. Nilai menulis siswa secara signifikan meningkat.

Abstract

This research is intended to investigate the effect of Peer Feedback Technique on Students’ Writing Narrative Text Ability at XI Grade MAN Tapanuli Selatan. This research used experimental quantitative method with pre-test and post-test design. The populations were all of the students at XI Grade MAN Tapanuli Selatan. The sample were XI MIA 1 as experimental class that consisted of 20 students and XI MIA 2 as control class that consisted of 20 students. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test in essay test form and analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) with T-test. After doing T-test, the finding showed that the t-test value was sig (2- tailed) 0.05 (0.017 0.05. Therefore, alternative hypothesis (Ha) of this research was accepted null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It can be concluded that there was significant effect of using peer feedback technique on students’ writing narrative text ability at XI grade MAN Tapanuli Selatan

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the EFL students’ perceptions and preferences towards the lecturer’s corrective feedback in a speaking class. The method used was descriptive qualitative research design. Twenty-four students from the first semester of English Language Education Program in a private university in Gresik were purposively selected as the participants of this research. They were invited to fill in the questionnaire and participate in the interview session. The findings showed the students’ positive point of view towards the lecturer’s corrective feedback during speaking class. More than 50% students stated that lecturer’s corrective feedback was necessary as the self-reflection to build their self-confidences and to enrich their knowledge in the speaking skill. Most students admitted that lecturer’s corrective feedback brought positive impacts to their speaking performances.

Abstract

This study examined the correlation between digital literacy and reading comprehension among 99 fifth-semester pre-service teachers in the English Education Program at Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Fatah Palembang. Digital literacy involves using digital technologies to access and evaluate information, while reading comprehension focuses on understanding texts. Data were collected through a questionnaire and a test, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. Results showed participants had good digital literacy but fair reading comprehension, with a very low, non-significant correlation between the two.

Abstract

AbstrakAdapun tujuan penulisan ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kalimat, paragraf dan terjemahan. Kalimat adalah susunan beberapa kata yang terdiri subjek, predikat dan objeck yang diakhiri dengan titik. Paragraf adalah susunan dari beberapa kalimat yang mempunyai satu kesatuan yang utuh dan ide pokok dalam paragaf tersebut. Dari definisi tersebut maka siswa harus memiliki kemampuan dalam menterjemahkan kalimat dan paragraf.Kata Kunci : Kalimat, Paragraf dan Terjemahan.
