Abstract

The highest rate of solid or semi-solid feeding occurs at the age of 4-5 months in 32.7% of the 488 sample children, according to data from the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey, and the highest rate of early supplementation of drinking occurs at 2-3 months in 24.7% of the 506 sample children. This research also continues the results of previous research, where the research was to determine the dominant factors in giving MP-ASI to babies and toddlers. The research results were obtained from 132 babies and toddlers, of whom 44 (33.3%) had received early MP-ASI. This study aimed to determine the effect of early complementary feeding on growth and development in infants and toddlers aged 6–24 months in the Banjar Baru PKM area, Tulang Bawang Regency, in 2022. This type of research is retrospective with stratified random sampling, with a sample of 132 mothers with infants and toddlers aged 6–24 months. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test and multivariate analysis with the Logistics Regression Test. The results of the study showed that more than half, namely 62.1% of respondents, were in favor of giving early complementary feeding to infants and toddlers in the risk category in the work area of the Banjar Baru Health Center, Tulang Bawang Regency, in 2022. The statistical test results also found that there was a significant effect between the behavior of giving MP to infants and toddlers with growth (p-value = 0.0001, OR = 3.273) and development (p-value = 0.000, OR = 10.353) in the Banjar Baru Public Health Center, Tulang Bawang Regency in 2022. In order to prevent early complementary feeding in infants and toddlers, it is suggested that pregnant women be educated about the effects of early complementary feeding on their children's growth and development from 6 to 24 months of age. reactivating the role of Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) and health cadres in community activities for early detection of growth and development of infants and toddlers, identifying anomalies early so they can immediately receive referrals for treating developmental disorders in infants and toddlers in the Banjar Baru health center, Tulang Bawang district, in 2022.

Abstract

The biodiversity of medicinal plants in Indonesia reflects the potential to be used to treat non-communicable diseases such as cancer. Gastritis is a kind of symptom felt in the stomach that may trigger severe abnormalities leading to a state of cancer. This study aims to determine the potential of bioactive compounds derived from the ethanol extract of butterfly pea petals (Clitoria ternatea L.) as an in-silico anti-gastritis drug candidate. This study was a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The molecular docking method applied specific docking using PLANTS software. The results of molecular docking indicated that there might be a similar potential as the control drug in inhibiting the gastric proton pump. Based on the analysis of the LCHRMS results, flavonoid compounds in the extract of butterfly pea petals were found to be used for docking analysis. Each flavonoid compound and the docking score from highest to lowest were Rutin (-87.05), Quercetin-3β-D-glucoside (-79.30), Quercetin (-79.28), Kaempferol (-74.80), Trifolin (-74.22), Genistein (-69.70), Kaempferol-3-glucoside-3''rhamnoside (-67.79), Biochanin A(1−) (-67.64), and Mauritianin (-58.26). The flavonoid compound named Rutin had the highest docking score above the two control drugs of Omeprazole (-66.27) and Vonoprazan (-84.45). It can be concluded that based on the in-silico study, the flavonoid compound of Rutin in the ethanol extract of butterfly pea petals (Clitoria ternatea L.) had the potential to inhibit the gastric proton pump to prevent gastritis. The chemical structure of Rutin differs from the two control drugs because it has a more complex structure consisting of five benzene rings. Further dynamic molecular tests are recommended to find out which flavonoid compounds have the most stable affinity for the target protein. Based on the in-silico test, in vivo and in vitro studies should be performed to find out more information about the potential of the flavonoid compounds in butterfly pea extract to inhibit the action of the gastric proton pump.

Abstract

The highest percentage of anemia occurs among adolescent girls, and one of the efforts to overcome such problem is iron supplementation along with iron-rich foods from animal sources such as red meat and marine products, as well as vegetable sources such as nuts. Soybean is a kind of iron-rich food which contains 8.0/100 g of iron. This study aims to observe the increase in hemoglobin levels after the administration of soybean juice among adolescent girls. This was a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. The populations consisted of 133 adolescent girls of VII and VIII graders with a sample size of 35 respondents who were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The respondents were given 250 ml of soybean juice for 21 consecutive days every morning. On the twenty-second day, the Hb levels of respondents were re-assessed (post-test). The blood sample taken was a capillary blood at the fingertip. The statistical test applied the Paired T-Test. The results revealed that hemoglobin levels of respondents who were given soybean juice increased by 12.06 g/dl with a difference of 1.62 g/dl. This study concluded that 250 ml soybean juice had an effect on the hemoglobin levels among adolescent girls. Adolescents are recommended to regularly consume iron-rich foods and beverages with various kinds of preparations such as soybean juice.

Abstract

COVID-19 is a disease that is highly communicable from infected individuals to others who are susceptible to infection. The family is the first line of defense against the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic among youngsters. There is transmission of the COVID-19 virus to children notwithstanding the inadequacy of parental efforts to prevent such transmission. The effect of COVID-19 infection on unfit parents will result in the transmission of the virus to offspring. The incidence of COVID-19 in children is influenced by the level of parental knowledge and conduct to avoid the transfer of the virus. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between parents' activities and attitudes regarding COVID-19 prevention, the detection of COVID-19 symptoms in children, and the level of information regarding the prevalence of COVID-19 in children. The research design employs a cross-sectional observational analysis. This study's demographic and sample consisted of proportional samples from 12 Community Health Centers, with 550 family respondents in total. The results of this study indicate that delivering the COVID-19 vaccination to the family considerably reduces the risk of COVID-19 transmission to children. The level of family knowledge correlates strongly with the transmission of COVID-19 to children (a symp=0.001, with a correlation p-value of 0.669). There is a correlation between the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine to parents and the transmission of the virus to children (symp=0.001, p=0.660). Based on the results of the study, there was a significant influence between the level of parental knowledge on the behavior of preventing COVID-19 in children in Kupang City. In addition, there is a significant relationship between the behavior and attitudes of parents who are disobedient in preventing COVID-19 in children and the incidence of COVID-19 in children. Families or parents who carry out the COVID-19 vaccination in the family also have a significant relationship with the transmission of the COVID-19 virus to children. To reduce the transmission of COVID-19 to children, efforts from the family are needed, such as implementing health protocols and carrying out vaccinations.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea, commonly known as menstrual pain or cramps, affects some women and hampers their ability to carry out daily activities. In Indonesia, the incidence of dysmenorrhea among women is reported to be 64.25%, with a significant proportion lacking knowledge regarding its management. Non-pharmacological methods, such as effleurage massage, have been suggested as a viable approach to alleviate dysmenorrhea pain. This study aimed to investigate the impact of effleurage massage on the pain scale associated with dysmenorrhea in adolescents. A quasi-experimental approach utilizing a pre- and post-test for a two-group design was employed. The study population consisted of young women experiencing dysmenorrhea, with a total sample size of 44 respondents divided into intervention and control groups. The research findings revealed a decrease in the mean pain score in the intervention group from 5.1±2.4 to 2.5±1.8 with a p-value of <0.001. Thus, it can be concluded that effleurage massage effectively reduces the intensity of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents. As a recommendation, adolescents are advised to consider non-pharmacological therapies like effleurage massage as an alternative to pharmacological drugs, and to learn the technique to perform effleurage massage independently at home.

Abstract

MRI is a diagnostic imaging tool crucial for pelvic examination in perianal fistula cases. MRI imaging offers some advantages, especially in showing the area of spesi and secondary dilatation. Both have a high recurrence rate after surgery and an important role in determining surgical outcomes and minimizing complications. This study aims to evaluate pelvic MRI examination of perianal fistulas using the T2 TSE SPIR (Turbo Spin Echo Spectral Presaturation with Inversion Recovery) sequence. Research design used a qualitative descriptive method with participatory observation through a case study approach to Perianal Fistula using T2 TSE_SPIR. It was carried out at the Radiology Department of Mayapada Hospital in South Jakarta from August to December 2022. The MRI equipment Philips Achieva 1.5 Tesla with Sense Body Coil. MRI contrast agent of gadoteric acid, Vitamin E capsule, was attached to the perianal fistula location to make it easier for the radiologist to see the path of the perianal fistula. The results of Pelvis MRI images in perianal fistulas using the T2 TSE SPIR sequence shown with clear boundaries of perianal fistulas with anal organs, sigmoid colon, bladder, and prostate between one organ and another. Implementing the selection of the T2 TSE SPIR sequence to visualize fluid images becomes hyper-intensive by suppressing fat signals so that only fluid is visible in the perianal abscess and fistula images.

Abstract

A delay in cutting the umbilical cord in infants can increase the Apgar score in infants who experience asphyxia. Besides that, it can prevent postpartum hemorrhage from occurring. Most deaths from postpartum hemorrhage occur during the first 24 hours after delivery. This increase in the Apgar value proves that the longer the delay in the umbilical cord is carried out, even until it doesn't pulsate, the better the baby's body will be, which results in an increase in hemoglobin in the baby's body. The population in this study were all mothers in the 3-4 stage of labor in the city area. Bandar Lampung. The sample is part of the number and characteristics possessed by the population with 120 maternal. It is known the length of time delayed cord Clamping is performed on babies born (<30 seconds) as many as 3 (2.5%) respondents, while umbilical cord clamping is delayed for 30-180 seconds as many as 117 (97.5%) respondents, the Apgar score in newborns in the category of mild asphyxia - not asphyxia as much as 100%, the amount of blood that came out <250 grams was 93 (77.5% ) respondents and the amount of blood that came out 250 grams were 27 (22.5%) respondents. Delayed cord clamping does not increase the incidence of asphyxia and bleeding in laboring mothers, so immediate umbilical cord clamping can be performed by observing the baby's birth condition.
