Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health is a crucial aspect of public health development, particularly in high school settings. Many students lack accurate knowledge and sufficient skills to maintain the cleanliness and health of their reproductive organs. This community service research aims to improve the knowledge and skills of students at SMA Imelda Medan through educational and demonstrative training. The methods employed included interactive counseling, practical demonstrations on reproductive organ hygiene, and group discussions. Evaluations were conducted using pre-tests and post-tests, accompanied by practical skill observations. The results indicated a significant increase in both knowledge scores and practical skills among students after the training, reflecting the effectiveness of this educational approach. This program is expected to equip students with practical understanding and skills that support healthy behaviors and responsible reproductive health practices.

Abstract

Huta Tinggi Village, Samosir Regency, has local coffee potential that has not been optimally managed, particularly in digital marketing and branding aspects. This Community Service Program aimed to digitalize the coffee business based on techno-entrepreneurship to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of local MSMEs. The methods included digital marketing training, creation of marketplace and social media business accounts, development of a digital product catalog, strengthening of branding and packaging design, and digital promotion assistance. The results showed a 48% increase in partners’ digital literacy, activation of digital business accounts, and a 30% increase in sales after implementing digital marketing strategies. The program proved effective in expanding market reach, improving partners’ capacity, and strengthening the competitiveness of Huta Tinggi coffee products.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has increased the importance of information security literacy, particularly among vocational high school (SMK) students who are prospective professionals in the field of information technology. However, knowledge of cryptography and steganography remains limited and has not been systematically integrated into vocational education. This community service activity aimed to improve students' understanding and practical skills in implementing basic cryptographic and steganographic techniques through an interactive workshop. The activity was conducted face-to-face using a practice-based learning approach (learning by doing), which consisted of four stages: pre-workshop, workshop implementation, post-workshop evaluation, and follow-up activities. Learning methods included lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, collaborative discussions, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The workshop involved 12 vocational high school students participating in industrial internships at Universitas Budi Darma. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants' learning outcomes, with the average score increasing from 43.00 on the pre-test to 80.50 on the post-test, resulting in an average gain score of 37.50 points. In addition, all participants successfully completed practical exercises involving encryption, decryption, message embedding, and message extraction. These findings indicate that an interactive workshop based on direct practice effectively enhances students' information security literacy and fundamental technical competencies in cryptography and steganography. This program can serve as an alternative model for strengthening cybersecurity literacy in vocational education through sustainable practice-oriented training.

Abstract

Effective congregational data management and information dissemination have become essential components in supporting church administration and ministry in the digital era. However, many churches continue to encounter challenges in managing congregational databases and utilizing information technology, particularly in the development of web-based information systems. To address these challenges, a Community Service Program (PKM) entitled "Database Management Socialization for the GKPS Maranatha Congregation and Website Development Training Using Bootstrap for Church Council Members" was conducted. This program aimed to enhance participants' knowledge and practical skills in managing congregational data through database management concepts and to introduce website front-end development using the Bootstrap framework. The program was implemented through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and interactive question-and-answer sessions. The training materials included fundamental database management concepts, the importance of structured data management, an introduction to relational databases, and the application of Bootstrap for developing responsive and user-friendly web interfaces. The participants consisted of GKPS Maranatha congregation members and church council members responsible for administrative and ministerial activities. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants' understanding of systematic database management and their basic competencies in designing responsive website interfaces using Bootstrap. Furthermore, participants demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm and engagement throughout the program, as evidenced by their active involvement in practical exercises and discussions. This community service initiative is expected to encourage the sustainable adoption of information technology in church administration and support the development of effective, efficient, and sustainable web-based information services.

Abstract

 A well-prepared community service activity introduces beneficial knowledge to the target community while contributing to students' scientific literacy. This activity aimed to train students at Pesantren Al-Manar, Aceh Besar, in making ecoprint as an alternative natural dyeing technique and to improve their scientific literacy. Ecoprint is a fabric-printing technique that transfers natural pigments from leaves and flowers onto cloth through direct contact, commonly applied using the pounding (hapazome) or steaming method. The activity was carried out for five days, from 26 to 30 May 2023, at Pesantren Modern Al-Manar, Lampermai Village, Aceh Besar, and involved 20 seventh-grade students of MTs Al-Manar. The methods used were lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, and presentations, in which students practiced applying leaves and flowers onto plain white fabric and tote bags. The results showed that the training ran smoothly and was well received, giving students new knowledge about ecoprint as an environmentally friendly, natural alternative to synthetic dyes, while also fostering their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced various aspects of human life, particularly in the field of education. One of the most widely used AI technologies today is ChatGPT, a web-based application capable of assisting users in obtaining information, solving problems, and supporting learning activities through natural language interaction. However, the utilization of ChatGPT as a learning medium among high school students remains limited because many students have not yet understood how to use AI effectively, ethically, and responsibly. Therefore, this Community Service Program aimed to introduce the use of web-based Artificial Intelligence through a case study of ChatGPT as a learning co-pilot in designing a Facebook-inspired Login Page and Home Page using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The implementation method consisted of preparation, instructional sessions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and evaluations through pre-tests and post-tests. The results of the program indicated that participants were able to understand the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence, recognize the role of ChatGPT as a learning assistant, develop effective prompts, and create simple web interfaces with AI assistance. Furthermore, the evaluation results demonstrated an improvement in participants' understanding, as reflected by higher average post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. The activity also increased students' interest in information technology and enhanced their awareness that Artificial Intelligence should be utilized as a learning support tool rather than a replacement for human thinking. Overall, this Community Service Program contributed positively to improving students' digital literacy and promoting the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in educational environments.).

Abstract

The gap in technical and pedagogical competence among Information and Communication Technology teachers in regional areas in implementing the Coding and Artificial Intelligence curriculum posed a major challenge to supporting the digital transformation of education. This community service activity aimed to enhance the competence and self-efficacy of 20 secondary school teachers in Labuhanbatu Utara Regency through training based on the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge framework. The training was conducted over five days using a scaffolded approach that included learning management system orientation, plugged and unplugged hands-on practice, and contextual instructional design. The evaluation results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' understanding, marked by an increase in the average score from 45.10 to 85.10, achieving a normalized gain average of 0.73, which fell into the high-effectiveness category. All participants successfully completed their portfolios and designed ready-to-use teaching modules. This scaffolded training proved effective in addressing the digital competence limitations of regional educators and strengthening their readiness for sustainable curriculum implementation.
