Abstract

Engineering education has emerged as a key driver of innovation and economic development in the 21st century. As global educational systems evolve, understanding the trajectory of research in engineering education becomes crucial for policy and curriculum reform. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global trends in engineering education research by examining 195,601 documents indexed in Scopus from 1877 to 2023 using the search string TITLE-ABS-KEY(engineering AND education). The analysis focused on annual publication trends, subject area distributions, and thematic evolution. Tools such as Microsoft Excel, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix (R) were used for data processing and visualization. Results indicate exponential growth in publications from the early 2000s, with notable contributions from engineering, computer science, and social sciences. These findings highlight the interdisciplinary nature of engineering education and underscore the increasing attention to digital tools, pedagogical innovation, and policy development. The study contributes to strategic planning for future research directions in the field.

Abstract

This study aims to explore strategies for enhancing the prestige of the teaching profession by linking educational reform with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to quality education and decent work. Using a three-phase experimental approach, the research engaged teachers in professional development within educational clusters. Findings showed significant improvements in teacher prestige and motivation, supported by data from pre- and post-tests. These gains were attributed to targeted interventions such as technological literacy, community engagement, and continuous capacity-building, because they addressed both systemic and personal dimensions of the teaching profession. The impact of this study lies in providing a model that supports professionalization in education while contributing to the realization of SDG 4 and SDG 8.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop the Competency Index of TVET instructors towards Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). The new technological waves from IR4.0 bring changes and development to current technology, and the TVET education system in Malaysia is bound to face a similar fate. TVET instructors play the biggest role to shape the human product in TVET institutions. A competent TVET instructor will yield competent human capital. Therefore, the reinforcement of the TVET system should begin with the main player which is the TVET instructor.  Therefore, a Delphi study will be conducted involving 11 expert panels to identify the index of Competency of TVET instructors towards IR4.0. With the findings from this Delphi study, a questionnaire about Competency Index will be developed. Then, the questionnaire will be distributed to 147 TVET instructors from the electrical and electronics department at the institution under the Ministry of Youth and Sport. The data collected from the questionnaire will help the researcher to develop the Competency Index of TVET instructors towards IR4.0. The findings of the study will help the TVET institution in preparing TVET instructors to become specialized, highly-skilled, competent, and efficient in the attempt to strengthen the teaching profession, which is in line with IR4.0.

Abstract

The present study has sought to provide a structural model of the relationships between the influencing factors in the acceptance of e-learning by teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic, based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model. The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of this research involved all primary school teachers in Isfahan, Iran, from which 250 primary teachers were randomly selected as samples using Morgan’s table. The tool used included a researcher-made questionnaire based on the technology acceptance and application model. The findings were analyzed using PLS statistical software. As the results showed, the UTAUT model of the factors affecting teachers’ acceptance of e-learning during the Covid-19 pandemic has a good fit. Therefore, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, hedonic motivation, price value, and facilitating conditions had a direct and significant effect on teachers’ behavioral intention to use E-learning. It was also observed that user intention has a mediating role in the relationship between the mentioned variables and teachers’ use of online education. Therefore, it can be stated that the findings confirm the theoretical foundations of the UTAUT model.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of crossover learning on pupils’ academic performance in Civic Education in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. A quasi-experimental design involving pre-test, post-test, and control groups was adopted. Using simple random sampling, both public and private schools were selected for the study. The instrument used Pupils' Civic Education Performance Test (PCEPT), was validated by experts and found to be reliable. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The results showed that crossover learning had a significant effect on pupils’ academic performance, with pupils exposed to crossover learning performing better than those taught with conventional methods. However, there was no significant interaction effect between crossover learning and gender or school type. The study recommends that Civic Education teachers adopt crossover learning strategies in their classrooms and that educational stakeholders organize training programs to help teachers implement this approach effectively.

Abstract

This study developed and evaluated a technology-based instructional video on locomotor and manipulative movements to improve the cognitive and physical performance of Grade VI learners at Tagbilaran City Central Elementary School. Guided by a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design, the intervention involved purposively selected learners and was validated by subject experts. The instructional video was assessed on multiple dimensions, including style, creativity, content, music, language, captions, and instructional value, and was rated as outstanding overall. Findings revealed significant improvements in both knowledge and physical skills, demonstrating the effectiveness of instructional videos in fostering comprehension, retention, and performance in Physical Education. While the material was well-received, further refinement in visual organization and inclusivity of language and captions is recommended to ensure broader accessibility. This study underscores the potential of technology-based instructional videos as powerful tools to enhance teaching and learning in Physical Education.

Abstract

The successful integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) resources into teaching and learning depends on the ability of lecturers to structure their learning environment to merge technology traditionally. This study examined the utilization of ICTs resources for teaching among selected lecturers in Kwara state. The study adopted descriptive research of the survey type. The population of this study was made up of all college of education students in Kwara State. Proportional sampling techniques were used to allocate several respondents in each school based on their estimated population using Israel Model. The instrument for data collection was an adapted questionnaire. Descriptive and Inferential statistics were used to answer the research question and test the stated hypotheses with the aid of statistical product and service solution (SPSS) version 20.0 at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings indicated that lecturers utilize ICT resources for teaching. No significant difference exists in the lecturer’s level of utilization of ICT resources for teaching based on the area of specialization.
