Abstract

This study investigated self-concept as a predictor of internet addiction among Undergraduates at Kwara State University Malete. The objectives of the study were to examine the relationship between self-concept and internet addiction, gender, and the joint relationship among undergraduate students of Kwara State University, Malete. Four hundred University Undergraduates were selected through convenient sampling techniques which were used in sampling participants from their various departments within the school. Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Multiple Regression analysis were used to analyze the data collected. Results revealed that there is a significant relationship between self-concept and internet addiction (r = 0.097 p <0.05), there is no significant relationship between gender and internet addiction (r = 0.041 p <0.05), there is a joint relative relationship between self-concept, gender and internet addiction (F2, = 1.92, p <0.05) predict internet addiction (t = 0.639 p < 0.05) and self-concept statistically predict internet addiction (t =1.656 p<0.05). The study recommends among others that school counsellors and policymakers should organize seminars, workshops, and conferences to sensitize the students to the need to have realistic and objective self-assessment and Self-concept.

Abstract

This study aims to map global trends in technology integration research in Japanese language learning using a bibliometric approach. Data were collected from the Scopus database and analyzed using VOSviewer to display network visualization, topic evolution, and keyword clusters. The results show a significant increase in publications since 2022, driven by the acceleration of post-pandemic digital transformation. Authors from China, Japan, and Indonesia dominate the contributions, with regional and international collaboration patterns. Keyword analysis identified three main clusters: conceptual approaches, digital learning experiences, and learning system development. Topics such as artificial intelligence, mobile learning, and NLP have become new trends that have been increasingly researched in the past two years. However, research is still limited to higher education and traditional pedagogical approaches. In conclusion, technology research in Japanese language teaching is developing dynamically, but there are still gaps that need to be bridged. The implication is that further research is needed at the elementary-secondary education level, collaborative approaches, and exploration of cutting-edge technologies to create adaptive and sustainable learning systems in the digital era.

Abstract

Virtual Classrooms (VCs) are digital platforms that create an atmosphere by integrating internet technologies in which instructors, students. Scholars and interested persons can engage, connect, communicate and describe their thought and opinions in a well-organized, pedagogical, and professional manner. The study investigated lecturers’ perceived proficiency in the use of VCs for teaching and learning in colleges of education in Ondo State, south-western Nigeria. The objectives were to (i) investigate lecturers’ perceived proficiency in the use of Virtual Classrooms for instruction; (ii) determine the difference in lecturers’ gender on their perceived proficiency in the use of virtual classrooms for instruction; and (iii) investigate lecturers’ perceived proficiency in the use of virtual classrooms for instruction based on years of experience. Questionnaires were administered to 298 lecturers. Findings indicated that irrespective of gender, lecturers’ perceived proficiency towards the use of VCs do not vary, while lecturers’ perceived proficiency are influenced by their years of teaching experience with a statistical value of t (298) = 4.86, p = .000) in favor of less experienced lecturers’. The study recommended among others that concerned agencies and school management should sensitize, train, and provide an enabling environment that will encourage the use of VCs among COE lecturers irrespective of gender and years of teaching experience.

Abstract

Students’ confidence in mathematics plays a crucial role in determining academic performance, persistence, and interest in STEM pathways. This study aimed to analyze how intrinsic and extrinsic factors influence confidence in mathematics, with self-efficacy as a mediating variable. A descriptive- correlational design was employed, and data were collected through a validated survey from 353 Grade 10 students enrolled in public high schools in Tacurong City during the third quarter of the 2024–2025 school year. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the study found that both intrinsic and extrinsic factors significantly influence confidence, directly and indirectly, through self-efficacy. Extrinsic factors such as teacher and peer support and intrinsic factors like motivation and prior achievement were positively associated with confidence. Because self-efficacy showed the strongest direct effect, interventions should prioritize building students’ belief in their mathematical abilities. The findings provide evidence for designing policies and practices that support learners’ psychological and contextual needs in mathematics education.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the level of sustainability awareness and commitment to the goals of education for sustainable development (ESD) among students in madrasah ibtidaiyah. A descriptive survey was conducted with 327 students in Sukabumi Regency using self-administered questionnaires that considered gender and grade level. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA. The results indicated that students demonstrated a moderate level of sustainability awareness, with an average score of 2.95. No significant differences were found across grade levels (p = 0.158), while female students showed significantly higher awareness than males (p = 0.001) in grades 3, 4, and 5. These findings suggest that gender is a more influential factor than grade level in shaping students’ sustainability awareness. The results highlight the need for gender-responsive approaches in designing effective ESD programs in primary education.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to know the perspectives of the children that have experienced cyberbullying. The results showed that the victims are aware of this problem. Upon experiencing this they were distressed and treated unfairly and the trauma they experienced was quite upsetting, leading to despair; in the worst-case scenario, some young people committed suicide as a result of the frustrations brought on by cyberbullying, and their mental health was also affected by this. The findings of this study would help children be aware of this problem.

Abstract

Sustainability is a key concern in modernizing higher education. This paper reviews how emerging technologies are integrated to promote sustainability in universities and colleges, analyzing various technologies, benefits, drivers, and barriers using the STARLITE framework. Key technologies include web and internet technologies, online assessment systems, green computing, advanced data analytics and AI tools, smart infrastructures, Bluetooth beacons, digital transformation, e-Learning/LMS, simulation-based education, gamification, and MOOCs. These technologies enhance student learning outcomes and campus efficiency. Successful integration requires strong leadership, relevant curriculum, and stakeholder involvement. Barriers include technological issues, misconceptions of sustainability, lack of financial resources, and stakeholder apathy. Institutional leaders play crucial roles in aligning goals towards sustainability with these technologies.
