Abstract

Banyuwangi, as the eastern gateway of Java Island, is rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. One of the prominent celebrations is Ider Bumi, which serves as a symbol of the fusion of local traditions and Islamic values. This study aims to explore the potential of Ider Bumi as a cultural tourism attraction in Banyuwangi. The method used is qualitative analysis with a case study approach. The qualitative analysis approach with a case study was chosen in this study because the Ider Bumi celebration in Banyuwangi is a unique cultural phenomenon and has a deep local context, which requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding. The results of the study show that Ider Bumi not only maintains cultural traditions, but also attracts tourists with art performances, culinary specialties, and cultural parades. This celebration has succeeded in creating an authentic cultural experience for visitors, thus potentially increasing tourist visits to Banyuwangi. In conclusion, Ider Bumi can be used as a strategy for developing sustainable cultural tourism, by involving local communities and promoting the uniqueness of Banyuwangi culture. This research is expected to contribute to efforts to preserve culture while improving the regional economy through tourism.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data in mapping geographical keywords related to tourism destinations in Indonesia. Using an exploratory qualitative approach, the study aims to understand how tourism-related keyword search behavior can reveal regional tourism trends, thematic interests of travelers, and seasonal dynamics of tourism demand. Data were collected from tourism keyword searches throughout 2023–2024 and analyzed using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, including thematic classification, semantic mapping, and keyword association analysis. The findings reveal four key insights: (1) the frequency of geographical keywords highlights both popular and emerging tourism areas; (2) thematic classification identifies traveler interests in cultural, natural, and culinary tourism; (3) temporal analysis shows consistent seasonal patterns in search intensity; and (4) semantic mapping displays relationships among keywords, reflecting traveler perceptions and preferences. The study emphasizes that AI and Big Data can enhance destination branding, policy planning, and personalized tourism marketing strategies. In addition to contributing theoretically to the smart tourism literature, it also offers practical guidance for stakeholders to align promotional strategies with actual search trends and regional tourism needs.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of airplane ticket prices on tourist visits to the Bangka Belitung Islands Province using secondary statistical data from official online sources, such as the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Tourism Office, and national online media. The results indicate that high airplane ticket prices are a key factor in the decline of tourist visits, particularly post-COVID-19 pandemic. The reduction in flight frequency and the high cost of tickets compared to other destinations have led tourists to choose more affordable alternatives. This study recommends policy adjustments to lower ticket prices and increase flight frequency to enhance the competitiveness of tourism in Bangka Belitung.

Abstract

Tourism has a strategic role in regional development because it can drive economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen local cultural identity. Andonosari Village, Tutur District, Pasuruan Regency, is an area with great natural and cultural tourism potential, but its development has not been optimal so that its contribution to the community's economy is still limited. This study aims to formulate a strategy for developing tourism potential to increase the existence of ecotourism while encouraging the economic growth of village communities. The focus of the research is directed at how the right strategy can link the sustainability of ecotourism with community welfare. The research method uses a qualitative phenomenological approach with subjects of village officials, Pokdarwis, tourism business actors, and community leaders. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed through stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that ecotourism development strategies include five main aspects: strengthening village institutions and Pokdarwis, increasing human resource capacity, sustainable utilization of natural and cultural potential, digital promotion, and collaboration with the government and external stakeholders. The conclusion confirms that this strategy not only strengthens the existence of ecotourism in Andonosari Village, but also improves the community's economy through increasing residents' income, opening new job opportunities, and developing local MSMEs.

The objective is to measure facilities' contribution to overall satisfaction. Employing a quantitative approach with purposive sampling (100 Indonesian respondents), Likert-scale questionnaire data were analyzed via validity, reliability, normality tests, simple linear regression, t-test, and coefficient of determination. Results reveal a positive-significant effect (sig=0.000; t=20.384; R²=0.809), with 80.9% of satisfaction variance explained by facilities. Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of culinary attractiveness on the travel decisions of Indonesian tourists in the context of the growing trend of gastronomic experiences as a key motivation for modern international travel. The purpose of this research is to determine the extent to which culinary elements—including restaurant quality, the diversity of food locations, and the presence of food festivals—shape Indonesian tourists’ interest in choosing an overseas destination. A quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling involving 100 respondents, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire. The analysis utilized validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, simple linear regression, t-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The findings indicate that all measurement indicators are valid and reliable, and that culinary factors exert a positive and significant influence on tourists’ behavioral tendencies, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 and a t-value of 19.367. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.793) shows that 79.3% of the variation in tourists’ visit intention is explained by culinary attributes, while the remaining 20.7% is influenced by external factors. Overall, the study concludes that authentic and well-managed gastronomic experiences play a substantial role in enhancing Indonesian tourists’ motivation to travel and strengthening the competitiveness of international destinations.
