Abstract

The Quran Reading and Writing (BTQ) and Furudul Ainiyah (Islamic Religious Affairs) Mentoring in the Al-Amiri Area of Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo Islamic Boarding School is a form of community service that focuses on strengthening the basic religious abilities of students, especially those who are still in the depths of high school and below. The background to the implementation of this program departs from the reality of the gap in the ability of students to read the Quran and the understanding of fardhu 'ain sciences such as fiqh, aqidah, and morals. This mentoring is very important because reading the Quran and understanding Furudul Ainiyah is an individual obligation (fardhu 'ain) which is the main foundation in the life of a Muslim. In addition, it also provides an understanding of tafaqquh fid-din and is expected to be able to provide a solution for Islamic Boarding Schools regarding the importance of maintaining and developing students' understanding in the field of religion. This mentoring uses the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) method, which is a partnership approach involving management members, religious teachers, and the researchers themselves. This is intended to ensure that activities continue even after the mentoring has concluded. From the evaluation results, it is proven that this mentoring has a positive and significant impact, especially in the development of the Qur'an and the deepening of furudul ainiyah, a culture of mutual assistance has emerged, strengthening Islamic brotherhood, and strengthening the tradition of studying yellow books and the Qur'an and being able to practice furudul ainiyah material.

Abstract

The Arabic Pegon literacy learning plays a crucial role in preserving Islamic literacy traditions within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), especially among students studying classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning). However, many new students lack a basic understanding of proper Pegon writing, resulting in low reading competence and decreased learning motivation. This community service program aims to improve the ability of students at Darul Fawaid Ilmiyah Islamic Boarding School, Randujalak Village, Besuk District, Probolinggo Regency, in understanding and writing Arabic Pegon. The method used is intensive mentoring and practice-based training (learning by doing) through four stages: initial observation, regular tutoring, micro teaching for teachers, and learning evaluation. The results show a significant improvement in students’ motivation and writing skills, with an average post-test score increase of 35% compared to the pre-test. Furthermore, teacher training positively affected teaching professionalism, particularly in material preparation and classroom management. This program recommends integrating Arabic Pegon learning into the regular pesantren curriculum and conducting continuous teacher training to strengthen the Pegon literacy ecosystem within Islamic educational institutions

Abstract

This Community Service Program was conducted for two months at MI Nurul Mun’im, focusing on nutrition education about fast food, which generally contains low nutritional value but high levels of saturated fats, sugars, salt, and calories. These components can trigger various health problems such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and other metabolic disorders. The low awareness among students regarding the long-term dangers of consuming such foods served as the main background for the importance of systematic nutrition education. The objective of this program was to improve students’ knowledge and awareness of the negative impacts of fast food consumption and to encourage the development of healthy eating habits from an early age. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, educational video screenings, quiz games, small group discussions, and the distribution of printed educational materials. The target participants were fifth- and sixth-grade students of MI Nurul Mun’im, totaling 70 students. The evaluation results showed that students gained a better understanding of fast food and the distinction between healthy and unhealthy foods. There was also an increase in their awareness of the dangers of fast food and their interest in adopting healthier eating patterns. The students’ enthusiasm during the Community Service activities brought many benefits both to the students and the school. Therefore, future long-term initiatives will focus on reducing fast food availability in the school canteen and providing quarterly mentoring sessions to update knowledge about healthy food.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance learning effectiveness through the use of non-electronic media based on metaplan to optimize students’ visual learning styles at MI Nurul Mun’im Paiton, Probolinggo Regency. The location was chosen based on preliminary observations showing a lack of attention to learning style differentiation—particularly visual learners—and limited access to electronic learning media within the madrasah environment. The activity employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of classroom learning processes, and analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and verification stages. The results show that the application of metaplan successfully increased students’ active participation, clarified conceptual understanding, and fostered creativity in expressing ideas visually. Through metaplan corner activities, students could write or illustrate their understanding of the lessons taught. The use of metaplan proved to be an effective solution for teachers to deliver simple yet meaningful visual learning, especially in schools with limited technological facilities. This program provides practical contributions to the development of innovative learning methods in madrasahs, making them more adaptive to diverse learning styles

Abstract

Social adaptation is essential for new students entering the pesantren environment, where they must adjust to a more disciplined, structured, and collective lifestyle. Limited adaptive ability often leads to difficulties in interaction, feelings of awkwardness, low self-esteem, and reduced learning motivation. Companion teachers hold a strategic role in guiding students through this transition, yet many still lack the skills to utilize creative media that support self-expression and interpersonal engagement. To address this need, this community service program focuses on strengthening teachers’ capacity to apply collage therapy as an alternative medium for facilitating social adaptation.Implemented at Pesantren Zainul Anwar, Kraksaan, Probolinggo, the program involved companion teachers and newly enrolled students. Activities were conducted through six stages: needs assessment, program dissemination, training and workshops, collage therapy implementation, mentoring and monitoring, and final evaluation. Using an experiential learning approach, the training emphasized hands-on practice and simulation. The results show improved teacher competence in facilitating collage-based activities and increased student interaction, cooperation, self-expression, and confidence. The program highlights collage therapy as an effective method that can be sustainably integrated into creative mentoring strategies within pesantren settings.

Abstract

Digital transformation is an urgent necessity in the field of education to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of school management. The service partners, namely the principals of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) in Pujer District, Bondowoso Regency, still face challenges due to administrative processes that are conducted manually and lack integration. Based on preliminary survey results, the utilization level of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was relatively low, with only around 30% of education staff using digital tools for basic administrative tasks. The most affected aspects include student and teacher data management, financial administration, attendance recording, and activity reporting. This community service program employed a participatory training and mentoring method through four stages: needs analysis, digitalization awareness, training on digital school management applications, and assistance in implementing an integrated information system. The results indicate a significant improvement in ICT adoption, with the use of digital management applications increasing from 30% to 85%. Administrative efficiency improved by 60%, data processing time decreased by 50%, and internal communication became faster and more accurate. Success indicators include enhanced digital competence, increased data management speed, the establishment of an integrated school information system, and sustained technology utilization. This program successfully accelerated digital transformation and improved educational governance quality in MTs within Pujer District

Abstract

The acceleration of halal certification has become an urgent need for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially amid increasing public awareness of the importance of halal assurance in food and beverage products. MSMEs in Taman Village possess strong economic potential but still face various obstacles in the certification process, including limited access to information, inadequate technical assistance, and administrative barriers. This community engagement program aims to optimize the role of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) as a facilitator to accelerate the halal certification process for MSMEs. This study employs the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which actively involves MSME actors, BUMDes managers, and village authorities throughout the stages of problem identification, action planning, implementation, and reflection. Data were collected through participatory discussions, in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that BUMDes holds a strategic position in providing information services, technical support, and administrative guidance, thereby reducing both the time and cost required for halal certification. Through PAR, a more effective and sustainable collaboration model was established among BUMDes, local government, and MSMEs. The study concludes that strengthening BUMDes’ institutional capacity and regulatory support is essential for building a participatory halal ecosystem that is responsive to the needs of MSMEs.

Abstract

The still-manual inventory management at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School Bureau has resulted in low bureaucratic efficiency and low transparency of the institution's assets. This situation demands digital transformation as a strategic step to support modern and accountable Islamic boarding school governance. This community service program aims to build staff independence in operating a website-based inventory information system to minimize data errors and expedite reporting. The implementation method uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 10 staff through stages of participatory preparation, technical training, and intensive mentoring. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in partner competency, marked by an increase in the average knowledge score from 73.3 (pre-test) to 95.3 (post-test). Based on skill observation indicators, participants proved capable of independently inputting data, updating stock, tracking item history, and printing inventory reports. A short-term impact seen during the mentoring was the creation of a valid initial database of the bureau's inventory. This success marks a shift in work culture from manual recording to a more organized digital system, resulting in more transparent and efficient management of Islamic boarding school assets.

Abstract

The dominance of manual administration systems and low digital literacy are structural barriers to document management at Maesan District Elementary Schools. This community service activity aims to transform school administrative governance through the use of Google Workspace for Education, involving 20 participants consisting of administrative staff, school operators, and administrative teachers who have a very low initial competency level (score of 18.3%). The implementation method uses a participatory approach based on Problem-Based Learning and hands-on practice supported by infrastructure from partner CV. Nafiatul Ummah. The intervention was carried out through training on Cloud Storage features, document collaboration, and data management. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in competency of 71.7 points, with the average final score of participants reaching 90%. Real indicators of success are seen in the formation of a structured digital archive ecosystem, including the digitization of student master data, daily attendance automation using Google Forms, and efficient financial reporting based on Google Sheets, which has been proven to reduce work time from days to minutes. This program recommends the institutionalization of digitalization SOPs and ongoing technical assistance to ensure the long-term independence and security of school data.

Abstract

This Community Service Program is designed to revive Nabawi moral education within peri-urban Muslim families through a participatory service learning approach. The main focus of the program is to strengthen family resilience amidst the wave of digitalization that brings various social and spiritual challenges. The partner community, the congregation of Musholla Al-Fattah in Prasung Village, Sidoarjo, faces issues such as declining face-to-face interaction, increasing individualistic attitudes, weak parental supervision over gadget use, reduced attention to worship and morality, as well as the threat of children and adolescents becoming involved in online gambling practices. The program was carried out through five main stages: identifying family resilience needs, conducting interactive thematic studies of the Sirah Nabawiyah, collective reflection, participatory evaluation, and celebrating the learning outcomes. The core product was the internalization of moral values through the study of the Sirah Nabawi, with emphasis on the principles of ṣidq (honesty), amānah (responsibility), ḥilm (patience), raḥmah (compassion), and istiqāmah (consistency). The study was structured in an applicative manner and tailored to the local family context of the congregation. The results of the program demonstrated the emergence of family awareness regarding spiritual and social roles, strengthened communication among family members, and active involvement of the congregation in moral education. This PKM highlights the urgency of Nabawi-based moral education as the foundation of family resilience in peri-urban Muslim communities, while also recommending the development of similar studies that are adaptive, reflective, and sustainable in other communities with comparable dynamics.
