Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to analyze the mediating role of transformative leadership in the relationship between organizational conflict and public service quality across higher education environments, where organizational conflict constitutes a complex phenomenon that substantially influences the quality of public services delivered to stakeholders. Methodology: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was applied, encompassing the examination of Scopus-indexed and Sinta-indexed scholarly articles published over the past decade. Literature retrieval was conducted in Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and the Sinta portal using relevant keywords. Main Findings: The findings demonstrate that inadequately managed organizational conflict adversely affects institutional performance and service quality, whereas transformative leadership serves as an effective mediator, converting destructive conflict into constructive engagement. Transformative leadership, characterized by inspirational vision, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration, and idealized influence, has been demonstrated to enhance organizational cohesion and elevate public service quality. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty lies in the explicit positioning of transformative leadership as a mediating mechanism rather than a direct moderator between organizational conflict and public service quality within higher education governance, an approach that advances both conflict management theory and leadership scholarship in the specific context of higher education institutions as public service providers.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to map how classroom communication education practices transform into citizens' critical participation capacities in the public sphere, addressing fundamental questions raised by the digital public sphere's transformation, marked by polarization, misinformation, and discursive fragmentation. Methodology: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA approach was applied, based on 47 Scopus- and Sinta-indexed articles published between 2015 and 2025. Main Findings: The findings reveal four main dimensions connecting communication education with critical citizenship: critical media literacy, dialogic pedagogy, deliberative digital participation, and resistance to dominant discourses. The study concludes that communication education should be reconceptualized as a transformative social praxis, integrating Habermasian public sphere theory, Freirean critical pedagogy, and digital citizenship approaches to address contemporary challenges to deliberative democracy. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty lies in the systematic integration of Habermasian public sphere theory, Freirean critical pedagogy, and digital citizenship approaches into a single transformative social praxis framework for communication education specifically mapping how classroom practices translate into critical participation capacities in the digital public sphere an integrative model not previously documented in the context of addressing polarization, misinformation, and discursive fragmentation in contemporary deliberative democracy.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: Rural schools in Indonesia and other developing countries face persistent learning quality gaps because of constraints in resources, infrastructure, and teacher training, while the demand for pedagogical innovation continues to rise. This study aims to synthesize recent empirical evidence on how principals' strategic leadership and resource management facilitate pedagogical innovation in rural schools. Methodology: A systematic literature review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 protocol was conducted by searching Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, ERIC, and the Indonesian Garuda portal for articles published between 2015 and 2025. After multi-stage screening and quality appraisal using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) instrument, 38 articles were selected as the final corpus. Thematic analysis identified five core dimensions: (a) contextualized transformational and distributed leadership, (b) adaptive partnership-based resource management, (c) locally responsive pedagogical innovation, (d) teacher professional development through learning communities, and (e) participatory community governance. Main Findings: The findings reveal that resource scarcity is not the sole determinant of educational quality; strategic leadership that integrates moral vision, social mobilization, and technological integration can convert constraints into opportunities for innovation. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study contributes to educational management theory by proposing an integrative Strategic Resource Innovation Leadership (SRIL) framework for rural contexts, offering a novel synthesis that connects leadership, resource adaptation, and pedagogical innovation for resource-constrained rural schools.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to formulate an adaptive, ethical, and participatory strategic framework for digital da'wah management to address the challenges of the post-truth era, characterized by the proliferation of disinformation, religious hoaxes, and the weakening of traditional religious authority in digital spaces. Methodology: A Systematic Literature Review using the PRISMA approach was applied, involving the retrieval of Scopus-indexed articles and Sinta-accredited national journals published between 2015 and 2025. Of the 312 initially identified articles, 38 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using thematic analysis. Main Findings: The digital transformation of da'wah operates through five interrelated strategic dimensions: digital leadership, media literacy, content management, a collaborative ecosystem, and prophetic communication ethics. The resulting strategic framework emphasizes integrating tabayyun values, religious moderation, and message personalization to strengthen public engagement. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty lies in the integration of five strategic dimensions digital leadership, media literacy, content management, collaborative ecosystems, and prophetic communication ethics into a single evidence-based, collaborative framework for digital da'wah management specifically designed to address the post-truth era, an approach not previously documented in the context of strengthening sustainable public trust in religious da'wah organizations.
