Abstract

Foreign languages ​​are now widely used in Indonesia, one of which is the use of English in culinary businesses. This is done by culinary entrepreneurs of course for reasons and to promote specific perspectives for consumers. This research aimed to reveal the meaning behind the use of English in culinary businesses and what perspectives emerged from this phenomenon. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach involving free structured interviews with culinary entrepreneurs in Metro City and consumers. Analysis was carried out by compiling concepts, categorizing data, and exploring relationships between categories, discourse and drawing conclusions. The research showd that the first aim of using English in culinary business were a marketing strategy to attract consumer interest by presenting different concepts so that it could generate curiosity for potential consumers; secondly as an adaptation to the times. Furthermore, the community's perspective on the use of English in culinary businesses were to foster curiosity to try; make an impression, modern, cool, international standard, professional, expensive, upper social class, trendy, luxurious; for young only; and time inefficient.

Abstract

Indonesia's diversity is the main cause of social conflict both verbally and psychologically. Social conflicts that occur in everyday life can certainly bring Indonesia into the abyss of misery. So religious moderation education needs to be integrated into education. The implementation of religious moderation education at an early age, especially in elementary school, is the basic foundation for creating a sense of unity and integrity in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the values of religious moderation in the Nussa and Rara series and their relevance to Islamic religious learning. This research method uses a literature study, with data collection techniques reviewing documents on the Nussa and Rara video series. The data analysis technique in this research uses detailed qualitative descriptions in the Nussa and Rara video series. The findings in this research show that the value of national commitment is found in the episode "Freedom!!!", the value of tolerance is found in the episode "Tolerance and my neighbor is great", the value of anti-violence is found in the episode "free reward and anger" and the value of accommodating towards local culture is found in the episode "washing hands" Come on! and clean our city, clean Indonesia. The value of religious moderation which includes the value of tolerance, the value of non-violence, and accommodating to local culture turns out to have relevance to Islamic religious learning in grade IV elementary school, while the value of national commitment has no relevance at all.

Abstract

This research is motivated by shorof learning which is still difficult to understand because it still uses general methods such as the lecture method, In the process of learning shorof there are still many students who have not been able to change the form properly and correctly. The existence of the Al-Maqsud Book and the istiqraiyyah method aims to make it easier for students to learn and understand students about shorof and shape change. The purpose of this study is to find out the learning of shorof before using the book Al-Maqsud with the istiqraiyyah method, to find out the learning of shorof after using the book Al-Maqsud with the istiqraiyyah method, and to find out the effectiveness of this research is a type of qualitative and quantitative research (Mixed Methods). With the Sequential Exploratory model, the first step is using qualitative data and then using quantitative data. This research data was obtained from observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. Based on the results of research obtained from the pre-test with an average student score of 49.33 and on the post-test 87.83. Based on the analysis of the T (Paired) test, a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000<0.005 is obtained, which means that it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So, it can be said that there is effectiveness after using the book Al-Maqsud with the istiqraiyyah method.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of audio-visual learning media in fiqh class V, the obstacles faced and the efforts made by the school and the educators concerned. To achieve the above objectives, in this research the researcher used descriptive qualitative research. This research data was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data reduction, data display (data presentation), and verification (concluding). The data validity techniques used are extended participation, observation, triangulation, and reference materials. The results showed that the implementation of audio-visual learning media in the fiqh subject of class V MI Raudhatut Tholibin has been going quite well, it's just that in practice educators still encounter obstacles such as limited creative power from the limited ability to use applications for making teaching materials, limitations in the installation of instructional media, limitations in technical matters when dysfunction or errors occur when learning takes place and the limited number of media resulting in clashes in the use of media between one educator and another educator. The solution is to provide technical guidance for class teachers regarding the production of teaching materials, installation of instructional media, error handling, and scheduling of the use of audio-visual learning media.

Abstract

This article examines several significant insights derived from best practices in teaching Islamic Education (PAI), which facilitate the cultivation of independence among students with intellectual disabilities. The research presented herein is the culmination of observations made during the modification of the Islamic Education learning process to accommodate the needs and skills of students with intellectual disabilities. The data for this study is corroborated through interviews and documentation. This paper posits that Islamic Education can serve as a viable pedagogical approach and habituation method for nurturing independence among intellectually challenged students for two primary reasons. Firstly, Islamic Education serves to instill independence in students across various domains including religious practices, moral conduct, social interactions, and essential activities in their daily lives. Secondly, despite the inherent limitations faced by intellectually disabled students, there exists untapped potential that can be harnessed and developed. This transformation of skills and capabilities among intellectually challenged students towards fostering independence can be effectively facilitated through Islamic Education instruction. Moreover, the positive outcomes resulting from Islamic Education instruction are reflected in intellectually disabled students attaining a sense of autonomy and self-sufficiency. This article further elucidates on the treatment methods and skills development, alongside habitual patterns, within three dimensions of Islamic Education instruction, such as Quranic recitation, theological understanding encompassing beliefs (Aqidah), purification rituals, ablution, fundamental knowledge of prayer rituals, performance of midday and forenoon prayers (Ibadah), cultivation of kindness, and avoidance of reprehensible behaviors (Akhlak). These efforts are aimed at nurturing independence and enabling intellectually disabled students to derive practical benefits according to their individual capacities.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve the writing skills of ninth-grade students at a junior high school in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, incorporating folktale films as a learning tool. Twenty-eight students (Class A) participated, with collaboration from an English teacher. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and tests, employing a triangulation method. The research consisted of two cycles, following the action research phases: plan, action, observation, and reflection. Results showed a significant enhancement in students' writing skills with the use of folktale films. These films increased confidence and participation in English writing, leading to effective narrative text creation. The students actively engaged in lessons, positively impacting their overall writing abilities, as observed and reflected in improved test scores. The paper concludes with practical implications based on the study's findings.

Abstract

One of the government policies in agriculture that requires effective implementation is subsidized fertilizer distribution programs which is regulated in the Minister of Trade Number: 15/M DAG/PER/4/2013 which explains the Provision and Distribution of Subsidized Fertilizers for the Agricultural Sector. However, this program was not run well. The purpose of this study is to determine communication, resources, and disposition in the implementation of subsidized fertilizer distribution in Sumber Katon Village, Seputih Surabaya District, Central Lampung Regency. This research uses qualitative methods, while the research sources consist of primary data and secondary data, determining informants, namely purposive sampling techniques or deliberately choosing people who are considered to be able to provide accurate information. The data collecting techniques were observation, interview, and documentation. The research results show that there has been good communication between the government, distributors, and the community distributing subsidized fertilizer based on the results of the Definitive Group Needs Plan. Communication is also established between Distributors, Retailers, and farmers. However, providing information is not optimal, and there was a limiting fertilizer quota. Good implementation of subsidized fertilizer distribution continues to be pursued despite many obstacles.

Abstract

Developing English material is an effort to develop and validate English material based on students' characteristics and students’ needs. Students of Islamic universities have different characters and needs from general universities. Therefore, this study aims at describing the process of developing English language material for Islamic learners in Islamic higher education based on students’ needs. The method of this research was Borg and Gall's research and development model. In this study, the researchers employed the procedures in four steps only such as research and collecting the data, planning, and developing the product. The participants of the study were the second students semester of the Islamic education study program (PAI) of Tarbiyah Faculty of a private Islamic university in Indonesia. The number of participants involved in this model was 30 participants. The researchers collected the data by using questionnaires, and interviews. The product of this study was evaluated by two experts between English language teaching and Islamic materials. The data was analyzed in qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of this study showed that the developing English materials based on the integration of English language materials and Islamic values for the students of Islamic higher education are developed by the researchers in appropriate quality.

Abstract

This research aims to measure the usability level of users of the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) application as an information retrieval tool for users at the North Sumatra State Islamic University (UINSU) Library. Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is a computer-based installed catalog system that can be used by users to browse catalog data to ensure the availability of collections needed by users whether the library stores certain works to obtain information and their location in the library. The method used in this research is the System Usability Scale (SUS) which was developed by John Brooke since 1986 and SUS is a usability scale that is reliable, popular, effective and cheap. Researchers used the SUS method to measure the usability level of OPAC application users in the UINSU library by asking 10 questions to 60 users. By knowing the level of user satisfaction, we can also find out whether the application is suitable for use and running well. The results of calculations from 60 respondents were obtained by researchers using the SUS method, getting a score of 62.3, falling into the OK category and grade D. These results show that the level of satisfaction of users of the OPAC application in the UINSU library is sufficient and needs to be improved.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the community's perception of online motor vehicle tax payment services, regarding simplicity, clarity, certainty of completion time, employee responsibility, completeness of facilities and infrastructure, employee behavior, and comfort. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods, while data collection is carried out by observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used is an interactive analysis including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and then concluding. The validity of the data used is the source triangulation technique and the method triangulation. The results of this study show that the perception of the Metro City community towards online motor vehicle tax payment services is quite good. However, there is still a need for additional information boards. A longer queue and completion time in paying their motor vehicle tax makes them use third-party services.
