Abstract

Social identity is a dynamic, fluid, and multi-faceted reality. Identity formation does not occur linearly but through social processes that are constructed and deconstructed. Ulun Lappung's social identity as an ethnified indigenous community is no exception. Cultural encounters between ethnicities in this area have required Ulun Lappung to redefine its social identity. The process of constructing the social identity of Ulun Lappung in an inter-ethnic context both internally and externally is the main focus of this article. Research data was collected through in-depth interviews with traditional leaders and Lampungese communities in the Sekampung Udik sub-district with a typology of four groups, namely: first, people of different ethnicities in one village but separated in sub-villages; second, different villages but directly adjacent between ethnicities; third, people who are together in one village and sub-villages; and fourth, people who are separated in villages, sub-villages, and even sub-districts. This study urges that the identity construct of Ulun Lappung in inter-ethnic social contestation with migrant communities shows a defensive identity model. No modification, manipulation, or assimilation of identity when they meet in the social sphere with immigrant communities. The inter-ethnic contestation leads Ulun Lappung to form a new identity, called resistance identity.

Abstract

The Covid-19 has an impact on accelerating the transformation of education in Indonesia. Starting from active online learning then developing into the implementation of hybrid learning. At this time, hybrid learning has become important to use due to the demands of developments in information and communication technology in all aspects of life, including in the world of education. The development of technology and information in the world of education has encouraged the emergence of innovative learning models which are useful as alternatives for solving the obstacles faced in traditional learning models. This hybrid learning system is seen as being able to support the concept of Independent Learning, Independent Campus. The use of a hybrid learning system at the tertiary level is a form of digital transformation in the world of higher education. Digital literacy is applied at the tertiary level in conjunction with the learning process using the hybrid learning method. One platform that can be used as a learning medium in this hybrid learning system is YouTube.  YouTube was chosen as a learning medium because YouTube is easy to access and students can access learning materials on YouTube wherever and whenever they need. This research was conducted to see the effectiveness of using YouTube media in Hybrid system learning in the History of Islamic Education course. The results of the research that has been carried out is, YouTube media is effectively used as a learning medium for Islamic education history courses,  this is proven by the result analysis that 74,33%. This means that most of the respondents agreed that YouTube media was effective in learning.

Abstract

This study attempted to determine the teaching greetings and partings using YouTube as a media of learning at MTs Ma’arif Roudlotut Tholibin, the formulation of the problem in this proposal consists of a question about the use of YouTube as an effective learning media in teaching greetings and partings for 7th grade student of MTs Ma’arif Roudlotut Tholibin? The purpose of this research is to find out whether YouTube is effective as a learning media in teaching greetings and partings for 7th grade students of MTs Ma’arif Roudlotut Tholibin. This study uses the one-group pre-test post-test design method with pre-test and post-test. Data was collected using a test consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions and 5 essays. The population in this study were 7th grade students of MTs Ma’arif Roudlotut Tholibin in the 2022 academic year and researchers used purposive sampling taken from class VII, which consisted of 20 students as the research sample. Data were collected through tests. This study chose one class with the aim of the researcher wanting to provide opportunities for all students to better understand the greeting and partings material in class. The researcher wants to invite all students to take part in the greeting and parting material. The results of the study found that YouTube as an effective learning media was used in learning greetings and partings on the data that explained the post-test (7.6) was higher than the pretest (2.09). This shows the use of YouTube as an effective learning media in teaching greetings and partings for 7th grade students of MTs Ma’arif Roudlotut Tholibin.

Abstract

This article discusses the concern of the community in Abepantai, Jayapura City, Papua Province, for the education of citizens, especially those who cannot access formal education. Using a qualitative approach, this research explores the organization of education at PKBM Puspita Abepantai through primary and secondary data. The results show that PKBM Puspita Abepantai not only provides formal education equivalency programs, but also special programs for adult learners, such as tire patchwork, electric welding, and woodcraft courses. These programs not only aim to improve technical skills, but also soft skills needed in the world of work and daily life. In addition, education at PKBM Puspita Abepantai is flexible and inclusive, emphasizing group, tutorial, and independent learning. Through this approach, PKBM Puspita Abepantai contributes to supporting equal access to education and empowering local communities.

Abstract

The driving teacher is the latest breakthrough from the Ministry of Education and Culture which functions as a motivator and school inspiration for students and fellow teachers. Its existence has a big influence and implications for school culture full of educational values. Global challenges are dimming existing norms, thereby weakening spiritual attitudes which give rise to various kinds of degradation, including tests for the nation's nationalist soul. A driving teacher is a figure who minimizes this and brings about change by forming a spiritual attitude based on nationalism. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results obtained are that driving teachers are part of forming a spiritual attitude based on nationalism by playing a role in carrying out habituation, acculturation, and empowerment in a consistent and directed manner.

Abstract

A podcast is a kind of YouTube content that is now quite popular in Indonesia and is a popular communication form among Indonesian YouTubers, such Denny Sumargo. “PENULIS CONTEKAN PRESIDEN, JOKOWI TIDAK LEBIH BAIK DARI PRESIDEN SEBELUMNYA⁉️- Tom Lembong " was one of Denny Sumargo's most popular podcasts. Researchers discovered that individuals replied to the video in talks that aroused their interest as well as in the podcast's comments section hosted by Denny Sumargo. Some of Generation Z. Based on the many remarks made by friends in Generation Z, it's intriguing to consider how the audience would react to the content or message the video conveys. Qualitative research methodologies are used in this study. The method used is Stuart Hall's encoding/decoding model's reception analysis method, which results in a staging of meaning into three categories: Dominant Position, Negotiated Position, and Oppositional Position. Data sources included secondary data gleaned from other library resources as well as original data gathered by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the analysis of Gen Z's reception of Denny Sumatgo's podcast based on Stuart Hall's reception analysis show that most of the three informants are in the Dominant Position, which is characterized by agreement with the communicator's message and understanding of its denotation and connotation meanings.

Abstract

This research examines the role of social media X as a tool for parents in supporting adolescent development through a journalistic perspective, using The Social Theory of Reality Construction and Media Exposure Theory. Social Reality Construction Theory and Media Exposure Theory explain that social interaction and continuous exposure to content on X allow parents and teenagers to construct, maintain, and shape their social reality perceptions. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type to understand how parents use X in supporting adolescent development. The research stages include subject identification, data collection through in-depth interviews and participatory observation, and data analysis using content analysis techniques. Data collection techniques included interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. To ensure data validity, data triangulation was used. The results showed that teenagers' use of X is influenced by peer factors and interest in certain information. Parental supervision of X use still needs to be improved. Parents who are more involved in their children's social media activities tend to have closer relationships and can provide more effective guidance. Effective strategies include intensive digital education, continuous engagement, activity monitoring, communication guidance, and appropriate educational approaches. This research emphasizes the importance of parents' active role in assisting their children to use social media positively and responsibly.

Abstract

The world of education is a forum where people are educated and formed in very basic ways so that they can live their lives better. Education units in Indonesia, especially at the junior high school level, are at the forefront of shaping the character of their students at school. However, the implementation of the learning process at school will not run smoothly as desired by parents and the school. When students are at school there will always be jokes with their friends, but those who speculate when joking are out of bounds. Character development is very important to change the characters of today's alpha generation which still have to be managed extraordinarily. The support from the government for the P5 Program is directly proportional to the objectives of the Pancaila principles, especially the 2nd principle. The existence of the P5 program aims to reduce cases of bullying in schools driven by the driving teachers at the school. This research method uses descriptive which defines what conditions or phenomena exist. The approach is qualitative. The results of this research are to prevent bullying among students. Bullying is a serious problem in the world of education because it can mislead students' parents.

Abstract

Al-Qur’an is a text that teaches equality and justice between men and women, but the interpretations made by clerics and scholars throughout history are often considered to be influenced by their social and cultural context, which can create gender bias. This bias can occur in various aspects of life, including in the workplace, education, media, and everyday social interactions. In a media context, there was an interesting upload made by the @peachyfraise account on social media X which then received a debate response. This research aims to identify the social construction that occurs in one of the posts about the interpretation of the Al-Qur'an. This research uses a qualitative methodology by applying the social construction theory proposed by Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luchkmann. The findings of this research focus on how ready and able individuals are to face the modern world, where they must be able to make decisions regarding their attitudes based on their skills and abilities.

Abstract

People interaction has changed along with internet development. Digital news (internet-based) is beginning to alter classical ones. The development of social media and other digital platforms is a result of the Internet development. Reading comprehension and audience skills are undoubtedly impacted by this, particularly for Generation Z because of shifting preferences for news-based-content consumption. By comparing Generation Z's preferences for classical and digital news sources, this study aims to comprehend the trends of news consumption in the digital age. This study used a quantitative approach using a descriptive methodology by employing a valid and reliable questionnaire to collect data that were then randomly distributed to 85 communication science students in semesters 2, 4, 6, and 8. The study's findings explain why communication science students do not vary significantly from other Generation Z students in terms of their preferences for news sources or how they consume them. However, since they study communication science, they are more astute when consuming news from contemporary sources that often include false information or aren't grounded in reality.
