Abstract

The principal plays a crucial role in improving the quality of education through the ability to analyze and resolve problems that arise within the school environment. As the primary leader, he or she is required to possess creativity, innovation, and wisdom in decision-making to avoid stagnation or decline in the quality of education. The principal's role extends beyond that of a manager who manages processes, resources, and goal achievement, but also as a decision-maker capable of clearly defining problems, finding alternative solutions, and determining the best option. Problem-solving strategies include problem formulation, analysis of alternatives using various models (bounded rationality, chaotic models, and implicit preferences), and assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of each option. The chosen decision must be implemented and evaluated to ensure its effectiveness in the short and long term. Therefore, the quality of a principal's leadership in establishing policies and making decisions has a significant influence on the effectiveness of school management and the achievement of formulated educational goals. This research employed a qualitative method through a library research approach, in which the researcher analyzed Chapter 7 of the Al-Idaroh Al-Madrasiyah Book

Abstract

This study highlights how SMPN 15 Mataram manages its public relations function and the management of its teaching and administrative staff, from the planning stage to performance evaluation. During the planning stage, the school identifies the number of study groups (rombel) as the basis for determining teacher needs. Teacher placement is designed by the vice principal for curriculum based on diplomas and formal competencies, while the vice principal for public relations oversees programs within his unit, including the development of the literacy program into the MBG program. The placement of teaching and administrative staff is also aligned with official documents such as certificates of expertise and employment status, including approximately 15 first aid personnel. In terms of performance assessment, the principal acts as the primary assessor through a digital system in the GTK room connected to the KPSN division. Professional development of teachers and staff is carried out through learning communities, scientific papers, and various activities or competitions facilitated by public relations. Performance evaluation is conducted transparently and can be followed up through direct communication with the principal. Overall, public relations and human resource management at SMPN 15 Mataram is systematic, collaborative, and structured.

Abstract

This study examines the availability and utilization of infrastructure at SMPN 15 Mataram as a crucial factor in supporting the teaching and learning process. This study examines the condition of available facilities, their utilization levels by teachers and students, and the effectiveness of their management in supporting academic and non-academic activities. This article explains how facilities such as classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and sports and technology facilities play a role in creating a conducive learning environment. The analysis shows that most facilities have been optimally utilized, although several limitations remain that require improvement to achieve better educational quality. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for the school in formulating strategies for sustainable infrastructure development. The importance of educational facilities and infrastructure within a school and supporting teaching and learning activities is also stated in Government Regulation Number 19 of 2005 in conjunction with Number 32 of 2013 concerning National Education Standards and Number 24 of 2007 concerning School Facilities and Infrastructure Standards.

Abstract

This article provides a detailed explanation of the roles, duties, and competencies possessed by educational supervisors in building an inclusive work culture within Islamic educational institutions. Educational supervision is considered an essential component of the education management system, aiming to ensure that all teaching, learning, and school management processes operate in accordance with national quality standards. This research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method, which involves collecting data through critical analysis of various academic sources such as books, journals, research reports, and regulations related to supervisory competencies. The results indicate that educational supervisors carry diverse responsibilities, including planning, organizing, directing, supervising, and evaluating the performance of teachers and educational staff. The key competencies required of supervisors include personal skills, managerial skills, academic ability, educational evaluation, research and development, as well as social skills. Among these, managerial and academic competencies play a particularly significant role in improving the quality of learning and the effectiveness of school management. By implementing professional, participatory, and data-driven supervision, Islamic educational institutions can develop a management system that is transparent, accountable, and oriented toward continuous improvement in the quality of education.

Abstract

The digital transformation has fundamentally reshaped educational supervision, shifting it from conventional inspection-oriented practices to a more collaborative, reflective, and data-driven model. This article aims to analyze the conceptual reconstruction of educational supervision in the digital era, outline its strategic objectives, and examine its implications for teacher professionalism. Employing a library research approach, the study synthesizes insights from approximately 20 national and international journal articles, scholarly books, and official reports related to educational digitalization. The findings reveal three major paradigm shifts: the emergence of data-driven supervision, the strengthening of collaborative and reflective professional cultures, and the development of continuous supervision supported by technological integration. Relevant supervision models include data-driven supervision, e-supervision, and reflective–collaborative–appreciative supervision, all of which collectively enhance teachers’ digital pedagogical competence, reflective capacity, and culture of innovation. Despite these opportunities, digital supervision faces challenges such as uneven digital literacy, technological infrastructure gaps, and limited digital leadership capacity among school leaders. This article concludes that successful implementation of digital supervision requires a digitally ready school ecosystem and visionary leadership, positioning digital supervision as a key driver of teacher professionalism in the era of Education 4.0 and 5.0.

Abstract

Teacher welfare is a key factor in improving the quality of education, but to date it remains a fundamental issue both globally and nationally. Although the Indonesian government has allocated significant funding for education, including professional allowances as a means of improving teacher professionalism and welfare, the reality on the ground shows that the welfare gap is still very pronounced. Civil servant teachers tend to earn a stable income, while millions of contract teachers still face economic constraints that affect their motivation and performance. At the same time, technological developments and the digitization of education have opened up opportunities for teachers to develop edupreneurship as a strategy for increasing income and developing competencies. However, teachers' ability to participate in educational entrepreneurship activities is greatly influenced by their level of welfare, including the effectiveness of education funding and the distribution of professional allowances. This study aims to analyze the role of education funding and professional allowances as determinants of teacher welfare, as well as how this welfare affects teacher participation in edupreneurship as a form of economic empowerment. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, this study found that improved teacher welfare has a strong correlation with their ability to innovate, develop digital skills, and engage in edupreneurship activities. These findings emphasize the need for more equitable, sustainable, and responsive education financing policies that address teachers' needs in order to support professional empowerment while improving the quality of national education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning strategies of intensive female students in improving academic competence at Al-Amien Prenduan University. Intensive students face complex academic challenges due to their busy dormitory and lecture schedules, necessitating effective and adaptive learning strategies. This study employed a qualitative, phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, while data validity was tested through diligent observation and triangulation of sources and techniques. The results indicate that the learning strategies employed by intensive female students include systematic study time management and understanding the material before memorizing it. Both strategies have proven effective in improving comprehension, learning consistency, and maintaining academic achievement despite time constraints. The success of learning strategies is supported by the quality of human resources, a conducive Islamic boarding school environment, and adequate learning facilities. While the main inhibiting factors are the conflict between academic and boarding school assignments, as well as a busy schedule. This study concludes that improving the academic competence of intensive female students is the result of implementing effective learning strategies and managing the dynamics of the Islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

The principal's role in improving student discipline is crucial for an educational institution. This is because the principal is a key element in improving the quality of education and is directly responsible for managing all educational processes within the school, particularly in efforts to improve student discipline and order. By addressing the topic of the principal's role in improving student discipline and order, the first objective is to understand the principal's position within educational institutions, particularly in efforts to improve student discipline and order. The second objective is to identify strategies implemented by the principal to improve student discipline and order. This study used a literature review method, referring to various books, particularly from Judad Atwi's perspective. From this discussion, it can be concluded that the principal plays a crucial role in education. One of the principal's responsibilities is to discipline students. The success or failure of a school in terms of discipline depends heavily on the principal, as the responsible party. Therefore, he or she plays a significant role in optimally implementing and enforcing these policies. In an effort to increase students' awareness of order and discipline, school principals need to show attention to school regulations and provide rights and obligations to students in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines. Educational institutions function as educational institutions to shape the character of students from various backgrounds. Furthermore, the principal's strategy in improving student discipline is to provide deterrent sanctions for students who violate the rules. The principal has rules and regulations to establish student discipline if a violation occurs, students can be given verbal or written warnings, and can even be fired from school without any charges. It is the student's obligation to obey all the regulations set by the school principal.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of implementing Law Number 18 of 2019 on Islamic Boarding Schools (Pesantren) in Pamekasan Regency, Madura. The legislation marks significant state recognition of pesantren as autonomous Islamic educational institutions in terms of governance, curriculum development, and their religious and social functions. However, at the regional level, its implementation faces various normative and structural challenges. Employing a qualitative approach through a literature-based study, this research analyzes legal documents, government policies, and scholarly literature using a descriptive-analytical method. The analysis focuses on three key dimensions: the normative framework of the regulation, policy implementation, and the level of institutional autonomy of pesantren. Findings indicate that while the law provides a strong legal foundation, Pamekasan has established Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2022 concerning Facilities for Islamic Boarding School Education as a derivative instrument, though its effectiveness requires strengthened cross-sectoral coordination. Nevertheless, pesantren continue to demonstrate adaptive capacity by strengthening institutional autonomy and preserving Islamic values rooted in local traditions, reflecting potential for constructive synergy between national policy and local dynamics.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a strategic role in shaping a generation of faithful, noble characters, and contributing to national development. However, Islamic education policy in Indonesia often faces problems, such as biases from pragmatic, political, and technocratic interests that cause the normative principles and basic values of Islamic teachings to be neglected. This study aims to formulate a conceptual framework regarding the principles, basic values, principles, and ethics in Islamic education policy. The method used is library research by analyzing primary sources (the Qur'an, hadith, Law No. 20 of 2003) as well as secondary literature in the form of books and scientific articles. The results show that the principles of Islamic education include monotheism, justice, freedom, equality, and deliberation, while its basic values include divine, human, moral, social, and scientific. The principles of Islamic education policy are based on justice, benefit, accountability, and trustworthiness, while its ethics emphasize monotheism, social justice, honesty, and responsibility. This finding emphasizes the importance of making Islamic principles and basic values not merely normative guidelines, but also a practical basis for developing educational policies that are fair, sustainable, and in line with the main goal of Islamic education, namely to form perfect human beings.
