Beginning from Vol. 1 No. 1 (2017), all articles will be published in the English version and Indonesia version. The publication frequency is twice a year in March and October. Abstract

This study investigates technology integration and Four Cs skills development (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication) in elementary school science learning in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi. Using a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, the research involved 120 science teachers and 360 students from grades IV-VI across 30 elementary schools. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and classroom observations, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), and thematic analysis. The findings reveal a significant gap between awareness and implementation of technology integration. While 82% of teachers recognized the importance of technology in learning, only 34% felt digitally competent (mean = 3.04). Four Cs skills implementation showed moderate achievement with collaboration scoring highest (3.35), followed by critical thinking (3.18), communication (3.07), and creativity lowest (2.94). SEM analysis confirmed that teachers' digital competencies significantly predict Four Cs implementation (β = 0.647, p < 0.001), with infrastructure acting as a moderator (β = 0.234, p < 0.05). The model explained 67.8% of variance in Four Cs implementation. Key barriers included technological infrastructure (89.2%), digital competencies (75.8%), institutional support (66.7%), time constraints (53.3%), and resistance to change (45.0%). Significant disparities exist between urban schools (25 Mbps bandwidth) and rural schools (8 Mbps). The developed Layered Technology Integration model demonstrated high validity (CVR = 0.89) and effectiveness in pilot implementation. The study recommends systematic professional development programs, infrastructure improvement, and the development of Project-based Learning models integrated with TPACK framework to enhance 21st century skills in elementary science education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis percakapan antara Rhoma Irama, Armand Maulana, dan Ariel Noah dalam kanal YouTube Bisikan Rhoma dengan menggunakan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis Norman Fairclough. Analisis ini mencakup tiga dimensi: teks, praktik diskursif, dan praktik sosial. Pada dimensi teks, ditemukan bahwa setiap tokoh menggunakan diksi yang mencerminkan posisi dan ideologi masing-masing: Rhoma Irama bersikap demokratis, Armand Maulana menunjukkan kegelisahan, dan Ariel Noah menawarkan solusi. Dimensi praktik diskursif menunjukkan bagaimana wacana ini diproduksi di forum publik, didistribusikan melalui media digital, dan dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat luas, khususnya pelaku industri musik. Sementara itu, dimensi praktik sosial mengungkap ketimpangan relasi kuasa antara pencipta lagu dan penyanyi serta perlunya reformasi hukum hak cipta di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa wacana yang terbentuk tidak hanya merefleksikan konflik internal industri musik, tetapi juga menjadi instrumen untuk mendorong perubahan sosial yang lebih adil dan sistemik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengisi kesenjangan pemahaman saat ini mengenai perilaku kognitif dan afektif dalam dunia pendidikan. Peneliti menggunakan desain metode QUAN-qual atau yang juga dikenal sebagai desain metode campuran eksplanatori. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester enam Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Negeri Makassar. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 38 mahasiswa yang terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu 18 mahasiswa dari kelas A dan 20 mahasiswa dari kelas C. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan wawancara untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan kuis reguler dapat meningkatkan perilaku kognitif dan afektif mahasiswa atau tidak. Data dari kuesioner dianalisis secara manual sedangkan wawancara diuraikan untuk mendukung hasil analisis kuesioner. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata mahasiswa kelas A adalah 64,05, sedangkan skor rata-rata mahasiswa kelas C adalah 65,44. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kuis reguler dapat meningkatkan perilaku kognitif dan afektif mahasiswa.

Abstract

Religious literacy is the ability to understand, internalize, and practice religious teachings contextually while respecting diversity. Amid the flow of digital information and the rise of intolerance, strengthening religious literacy in higher education has become increasingly important. This study aims to explore how religious literacy is reinforced in the higher education curriculum in the Ajatappareng region and its impact on shaping students' moderate character. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach using case study methods at several public and private universities in the Ajatappareng area. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, document studies (syllabi, lesson plans, academic guidelines), and analyzed thematically. The results show that religious literacy is reinforced through the integration of moderate religious values into teaching materials, contextual learning approaches, and student involvement in religious activities that foster tolerant attitudes. Challenges include the lack of learning innovation, the dominance of cognitive approaches, and limited training for lecturers on multicultural-based religious literacy. The implication is that the religious education curriculum needs to be reformulated not only theologically, but also equipping students with critical, empathetic, and dialogical thinking skills to help build an inclusive and peaceful society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan fungsi tindakan ucapan perintah yang terdapat dalam novel Calabai karya Pepi Al-Bayqunie. Tindakan bahasa perintah adalah jenis ucapan yang bertujuan untuk membuat mitra bicara melakukan suatu tindakan, seperti memerintah, memberi nasihat, meminta, melarang, dan sebagainya. Novel Calabai dipilih karena mengandung banyak dialog yang menggambarkan dinamika sosial dan budaya karakternya, terutama dalam konteks kehidupan bissu di Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan pragmatik dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari ucapan karakter dalam novel yang mengandung tindakan ucapan direktif, kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan teori tindakan ucapan Searle (1976) dan fungsi ilokusi menurut Leech (1993). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindakan ucapan direktif dalam novel Calabai memiliki berbagai fungsi, termasuk fungsi kompetitif (perintah, permintaan, teguran), fungsi menyenangkan (salam, hiburan), dan fungsi kooperatif (nasihat, advokasi). Fungsi-fungsi ini mencerminkan hubungan sosial, nilai-nilai budaya, dan konflik batin karakter, terutama dalam menghadapi norma-norma sosial dan agama。Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tindakan ucapan direktif dalam karya sastra tidak hanya bersifat komunikatif, tetapi juga sarat dengan makna sosial dan budaya。

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of United Kingdom language learning with blended learning methods in the digital era. The blended learning method combines face-to-face learning with online learning, which allows flexibility in time and place for students. This study uses a descriptive literature review approach by reviewing relevant articles and journals in the last 10 years (2013-2023) related to the application of blended learning in United Kingdom learning. The results of the study show that the blended learning method is effective in improving students' United Kingdom language skills, especially in speaking and listening skills. Flexibility and the use of interactive technology are the main factors that support the success of this method. However, the study also identified several challenges, such as limited access to technology and low digital literacy, that hinder the implementation of blended learning, especially in developing countries. The novelty of this study lies in a more in-depth analysis of local challenges in the application of blended learning and solutions to improve its effectiveness. This research emphasizes the importance of the role of adequate technology infrastructure and digital literacy training to support the successful implementation of blended learning in the future.

Abstract

prevalence of hypertension in children continues to rise globally, including in coastal areas that face specific challenges in terms of healthcare access, education, and lifestyle. This study aims to identify the factors associated with the risk of hypertension among 7th-grade students at SMP Swasta IT Jannatul Firdaus, Perlis Village. The study used a descriptive qualitative design with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and the school principal, as well as direct observation in the school environment. The instruments used included interview guidelines and observation notes. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that most students had habits of consuming high-salt foods, skipping breakfast regularly, and engaging in minimal physical activity. The school did not yet have specific health programs for early hypertension detection or nutrition education. Additionally, the low socioeconomic status of families influenced students' food choices and lifestyle. The conclusion of this study is that an unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, insufficient health education, and poor family socioeconomic conditions are significant factors contributing to the risk of hypertension in children. Collaborative intervention among schools, families, and communities is necessary to create an environment that supports healthy living habits from an early age. Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into higher education has transformed how students approach language learning tasks. This study investigates university students’ perceptions of AI-based language learning tools, focusing on how these technologies influence their adaptability and learning strategies. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected from semi-structured interviews and reflective journals involving sixteen undergraduate students from various disciplines at an Indonesian public university. Thematic analysis revealed three key themes: perceived benefits and limitations of AI tools, diverse adaptive responses to automated feedback, and varying degrees of strategic engagement. Findings show that while student ts generally appreciate the efficiency and support offered by AI applications, their level of critical engagement and adaptability varies significantly. Some students actively cross-check AI feedback and adjust their strategies thoughtfully, whereas others tend to accept suggestions passively, which may hinder deeper language development. The study highlights the need for explicit AI literacy training and pedagogical frameworks that foster critical and reflective use of AI tools in language learning contexts. These insights contribute to ongoing discourse on responsible AI integration in education and offer practical implications for educators and policymakers aiming to balance technological affordances with the cultivation of independent learning skills.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology demands that learners acquire information literacy skills from an early age as part of 21st-century competencies. Information literacy encompasses not only the ability to search for and use information but also the skills to evaluate, process, and present information critically and ethically. In the context of primary education, the curriculum and school library play a strategic role in laying the foundation for information literacy from an early stage. This study aims to explore how the integration of information literacy into the primary education curriculum is implemented in elementary schools in Enrekang Regency, as well as how school libraries contribute to supporting this process. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method in three elementary schools that have active library programs. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with teachers, librarians, and principals; observation of literacy activities; and document analysis (lesson plans, syllabi, and library programs). The findings indicate that the integration of information literacy remains incidental and is not yet structured within the formal curriculum. School libraries have made efforts to become open learning spaces, yet their role has not been fully optimized due to limited resources and coordination among school stakeholders. The implication is that supportive policies are needed to systematically strengthen information literacy through curriculum integration, teacher training, and the revitalization of school libraries as literacy centers and learning resource hubs.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKS) based on Differentiated Instruction (DI) to improve the understanding of eighth grade students on the material of Two-Variable Linear Equation Systems (SPLDV) at SMPN 2 Enrekang. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes five steps: needs analysis, product design and development, implementation, evaluation, and data analysis. The results of the study indicate that the application of DI-based LKS can improve students' understanding of SPLDV material, as evidenced by a significant increase in pre-test and post-test results. DI-based LKS provides questions with a level of difficulty that is adjusted to the student's abilities, so that each student can learn according to their abilities. Thus, this study suggests the use of DI-based LKS for other mathematics materials as an effort to improve the quality of learning and student learning outcomes.
